This hotel is within a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof and tram connections. Ideal if you are planning to explore the surrounding area eg Nuremburg, Saltzburg, Augsburg, or the attractions of Munich. The breakfast choices were very good whether it be hot or cold. Our room was spacious enough for our needs, with excellent housekeeping. However, the best impression was the very pleasant and polite young man in reception who helped us out with a couple of queries and made our stay very enjoyable.

Having read previous reviews of this hotel, we were prepared for it to be noisy, and the immediate area to be a little intimidating in the evening. This was not our experience at all. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags in a secure room in the lobby. The receptionist was pleasant, but he was new, so wasn't certain if details about 'free bike rental' on the booking. com site were accurate. In the end, we didn't pursue this, so I can't confirm if indeed bikes are available. Our room was spacious, light and clean, with everything we needed, though we didn't discover the kettle til checking out - it was in the bottom of a cupboard, under the safe, with the iron. There was a coffee machine, fridge, bedside lights and aircon. The curtains were reasonably effective at blocking out the light and the beds were comfortable. We found the hotel room to be quiet, but we were situated at the back. On venturing out, it was lively with plenty of food outlets and small stores. There was a community feel, with a lot of family groups, and it felt safe, returning at 10.30pm. There are a few strip clubs in the area, but again, these did not impact negatively on our stay. The hotel was 5 minutes away from the train station and 15-20 minutes walk into the old town. We would definitely stay here again and thought it was great value for money.

The staff was SO incredibly helpful. I don't usually comment on the staff because everywhere I stay they are usually pretty much the same, but this hotel always had someone at the front desk and they were always really friendly and eager to help! From giving us instant coffee to storing our luggage to being present over the holidays. Great service.

The location is very convenient, but the streets around the hotel are a bit questionable. Never had any real issues, but especially on weekend nights there would be a lot of people standing around with bottles or cigarettes. Also lots of sex shops around the area? However, this didn't negatively affect my experience at all, just thought it would be good to point out.

The Reception Guy from Pakistan is the REASON I will come back FOR SURE! Astor Hotel for sure has a valuable employee here! He makes you feel at home! Even better as if it was a German Receptionist, this makes all the difference after traveling +73 countries this has been one of the best attentions I have received in my life, if I needed help with something he was ready to do so! You can leave your luggage and pick up for free at 12 night, everything was clean, free cofe, water. Good bed good view! Good prices!

Great location: It is just 5 mins walk from the train station and the main attractions. Clean: It was clean. The room and the corridor was smelling cleaning soup. Hospitality: It is run by a family. They were very kind and hospitable. Communication was not a problem thanks to their son Marco. They let us leave our baggages after the check out. Facilities: Was enough. The room was lacking a fridge and kettle but they let us use fridge and get hot water frim the breakfast area. One should keep it in mind that this is not a 5-star hotel it was more like a family house. We liked the vintage furniture and the decoration. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much that we prolonged it for one more night.

The property is a very short walk from the main train station / Hbf. The staff was very friendly and they had luggage storage available. I was able to get free filtered water in the lobby for my water bottle before I begin my walk for the day. The room was very comfortable and appropriately appointed. I had a good view of the neighborhood from the window. The breakfast was more than ample with a wide variety of salads and cold meats and eggs and other items.

No real complaints about the property. Nearby Construction made it a little difficult to get to the facility, but that is to be expected in a large city.

The staff was courteous. They were doing much more with limited amount of resources, especially Kashif Ahmed was very kind and generous, made sure I had a pleasant stay by providing all the information about Munich, it's main attraction, how to plan for covering those. It was really helpful.

Pricy compared to the amenities provided. I got the information of the surged price of Hotel because of an industrial event going on over there at Munich during April.

Location is relatively close to the city centre. Although in a somewhat lively area, I was not bothered by street noise due to sound proof windows. There was an iron and ironing board in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was unexpectedly good (a lot of variety, fresh produce and nicely presented). The hotel has an arrangement with a parking garage a few streets away, so that parking for 24h stay is about half the normal price.

The bathroom was a bit small. A larger person might have difficulty getting in and out of the shower.

The hotel was very clean and the room was big. It’s a few minutes walk from the central train station which was very convenient. It was great we arrived at midday but got to access our room early. Great value for money.

There was nothing specific we didn’t like. I’ve seen negatives from others about the area being “unsafe” but we were two female travellers and didn’t feel unsafe at all. The area is multicultural and has great food options.

The wifi was unfortunately very weak/slow
