The Duke Suites is a very pleasant, nicely designed hotel in one of the best neighbourhoods in Athens. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful (they effortlessly arranged an early check in, for example). There is a small but very nice pool on the roof, with a pleasant pool bar with a beautiful view. Some very good Kolonaki bars and restaurants are very close.

I've stayed there a few times and I would go back. The breakfast is slightly less good than it was in the past, somewhat less choice, fewer Greek things. Mini bar offering is good, but it would be nice to have a Nespresso machine rather than a filter coffee machine. There are some strange plumbing noises; some of the material is getting a little shabby -- but none of this really detracts from the overall experience -- just the reason why I don't give this a 10.

I was comfortable. There is a small selection for breakfast, but it is enough for breakfast Yes the fridge was a little noisy but not critical at all The hotel smelled great, as well as smelling clean and a good odour in the room, it was pleasant The staff is very nice, this hotel did not ruin my impression of travelling to the city I would stay at this hotel again if I were to visit The TV didn't have smart tv and I couldn't watch youtube before going to bed The shower spilled water on the floor, but it didn't spoil the experience

Nice location, very safe, surrounded by police due to proximity to the prime ministers residence. Beautiful neighbourhood, not far walking to national botanic garden and sights. A note that it is located in an elevated position at base of Mt. Lycabettus. So, most things are downhill when waling out but uphill on the way back. We managed with two young kids but people with health issues may need to use a taxi. Staff were lovely, breakfast is basic but nice. Rooftop pool was great especially for our kids with the recent heat. The in room jacuzzi is the biggest I've seen in a hotel room. Would stay again!

Uphill location was a little tiring, but not a show stopper. The sofa bed was not comfortable, I was relegated there after my kids got into the main bed.

Located in a good area but you should be young and fit to deal with climbing up and down the hill to get into Athens centre. The breakfast not bad and not brilliant. Staff were friendly when we saw them. Hotel operates with access codes and reception desk is not always manned but when it is the service is good. It was wonderful not having to worry about a room key or room card. Lovely rooftop bar/restaurant and pool but we didn't have the opportunity to swim. Short stay. Room was lovely and very well equipped. Hairdryer, Steam Iron, excellent water pressure, mini kitchenette, drinks and snacks to buy and satelite TV if you are a fan. High Ceilings, lovely clean decor.

I like swimming at night but Greece has strange rules about this. This establishment has the pool right next to the restaurant and therefore a tad awkward swimming while guests are having dinner anyway. There was really nothing we didn't like.

Great service from the staff. The room was spacious and beautiful. Had everything we needed, and the location was perfect.

The shower pressure was disappointing It would cut in and out , and the temperature was inconsistent from hot to cold. The sliding door to the balcony was extremely heavy and hard to open, where you had to use your whole body weight to open or close. The bathroom sliding door was also an issue. You'd start to slide it shut, and then it would automatically start shutting far too quickly, where your hand could get stuck. After the first time, you'd just quickly move your hand out of the way. But it could be a serious hazard.

Great place to escape the busy streets of Athens. Great apartment - enough for 2+2 kids. Kitchen was an added bonus, but who would cook in Athens when there are so many good restaurants to eat around. Staff is amazing. Room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels every day. Room is furnished very well. We had the opportunity to stay in two rooms - so we had an option to view two suites - they were both different and well furnished. Swimming pool is small but enough for the kids and absolutely a must in the warm days - it was a good combination to start early in the morning with tours/excursions (breakfast starts at 8 am, but we could get freshly baked croissants earlier for on the way), come back to the hotel later in the afternoon, enjoy couple of hours by the pool and venture again in the cosy streets of Athens. Thank you for the hospitality!

nothing really have in mind that if you are walking you need to climb around 100 stairs to get to the hotel. It is a busy street and can get nosy outside, but compared to the busy city centre, it is ok.

- staff were flexible - clean and fresh smell - views of Athens - Mount Lycabettus easily accessible and beautiful sunset - can see Hoopoes from the balcony

-lift really hot. Don’t set foot in the lift after any exercise or walking. You will melt! - breakfast. No vegan options and limited options for others. - Supermarket closes relatively early and about ten mins down the road meaning that if you need something late or early that hotel doesn’t have you are a bit stuck. Not even a vending machine for water. - unknown why lots of Police on streets, possibly a Police station but not clear. Didn’t appear to be rough area but there presence was felt.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The pool and rooftop bar were great. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a decent size. The airconditioning was heaven as we were there during a heatwave, and it was fully under our control to set the temperature as we wished.

The location. Although technically central, there is no metro station nearby and it is in a very hilly neighbourhood. The footpaths are wonky and we slipped several times. There are also many uneven steps. The only way you can arrive safely with luggage to this hotel would be by car. Anyone with mobility or balance issues would struggle here. We also read when we booked that our room had it's own private entrance. It had a door on a landing just like every other room so this was odd. Our showerhead also broke and they never fixed it which was disappointing.

The hotel has a great location in Athens, it is located in a safe and guarded neighborhood, it is close (walking distance) to the city center and below Livitkos mountain, which is also a great sight itself. The hotel is located uphill from Syntagma Place, this should be considered when walking to the hotel from Syntagma Place with suitcases. The hotel itself is a nice small hotel with approx. 12-15 rooms. Our room was a two bedroom, one living room flat with kitchen, (#402) and it was spacious with a great view over parts of the city (not the Akropolis so) and in a nice little park. We stayed there with 4 people (2 teenagers) and they really enjoyed the little roof top pool and a work out room in the basement. Small breakfast room with good breakfast, where everybody found something he liked. Very friendly staff at breakfast and at the reception. Overall we had a really nice stay and would return if going to Athens again. -

Cleaning under the beds should be done more frequently 😀
