A wonderful, historic building right in the heart of the city of beautiful Chania. George and Helen and son Mike were fabulous hosts, always willing to help and make your stay a comfortable and memorable one. Rooms were immaculate and regularly cleaned. George makes his own excellent raki, and generously provides a carafe of this potent brew in your own fridge. Casa Dasyra was a special experience. Five stars.

Nothing. Some people may not like the noise emanating from the streets outside as there are restaurants close by, but I loved the atmosphere and the hubbub. You are right in the heart of the best part of Chania.

Nice to stay right in the heart of Chania old town - earlier in the trip I stayed in a more out of town hotel so really enjoyed the contrast. Harbour and many restaurants very close. Walkable to the nearest beaches if you enjoy a walk (I do!) Friendly staff greeted me with a shot of home made fruit raki! Room well equipped and had shutters to keep heat down in the day and reduce light at night. Very atmospheric location.

For me, a bit noisy in the evening, with noise from passers-by and workers well into the small hours. However, this is to be expected in this location, worth it for being in the heart of things. I travel with earplugs! Also the lethal 'non - slip' shower mat, I nearly fell over on my first shower. This needs rinsing of soap and sticking firmly in place! I removed it, I didn’t find it necessary.

I liked the unique historical nature of the hotel, the proximity to the port and the very picturesque area. The owners and managers were very nice and showed consideration for their guests.

I was lucky to have a room on the second floor but it didn’t have a balcony and was a little gloomy. There was a bit of noise too since tour guides loitered under my window plus a bit from the tavernas. Honestly, I just used my earplugs because you can’t get an ideal location without s bit of noise.

Central position inside old town, walking distance to Venetian Port and all the amenities, including the shopping and the restaurant area. The host was super helping, suggesting us the best place to eat and the most wonderful beach around (15 minutes walk from the place). Our room was the number 4, with a huge roof-terrace where you can enjoy the evening breeze, the sunrise and the sunset from a privileged position. Very big space, enough to allocate 3 people comfortably. We have been told that our room once hosted the beloved Pope Benedetto XVI when he still was a Cardinal: we very very happy to be there too.

Nothing. Everything was perfect. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that if you are driving your car, you can park in the nearby free public parking l (it’s huge but a bit inconvenient, due to dust and difficult to access): our decision was to park in the shopping mall parking lot, just 20 euro per day but your car will be safe and fresh :)

The location is perfect just set back from the harbour in a beautiful alleyway surrounded by bars and restaurants but quiet in the mornings. The staff were all lovely - before we arrived, when we arrived ridiculously late at night, and when we left - they could not have been more helpful. The room upstairs with the big terrace is lovely - it also has a kitchen. The room on the first floor has a lovely balcony for two people.

Ideally there would have been a kettle in the two one bedroom rooms on the first floor, and not just the one upstairs, but it’s a very very small point - it was just a lovely stay. And it’s easy to leave your room to go get tea anywhere around!

We stayed 4 nights in the balcony room in May. Mike arranged a taxi from the airport and George met us from the drop off and gave us a glass of Eleni's excellent cherry raki on arrival. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed, excellent aircon and good shower. Also, instead of a bidet, a separate hose by the loo for the same purpose., A brilliant idea - every home should have one. There was a bottle of water in the fridge plus 2 plates, knives, forks and glasses so we could have a snack on the balcony. This was not mentioned in the room description so was a nice bonus. Also, hand wash and shower gel are provided. The Casa is at the edge pf the old town on a corner of 3 walkways so has a lovely view down on the bars and restaurants. It is generally quiet but lively and lovely to sit with a glass of wine before going out in the evening. Everywhere is within easy walking distance, including the bus station if you want to take a trip. We recommend Wanderlust Tours who do different routes each day. We did Lake and Springs which was lovely and a good way to see parts of Crete you wouldn't otherwise know about. Also recommend Xania Restaurant and Synagogi cafe because it's so quirky. The local rose wine is very good (cheaper from the supermarkets near the bus station) with bread and cheese. We had a great holiday in Crete and would recommend Casa Dasyra absolutely. George and Eleni are wonderful, generous hosts (we never met Mike) who made us very welcome. Thank you all.

The location was absolutely perfect. At the end of a popular shopping street, it was quiet at night time and lively during the day. Our room looked out to the side of the street (not the balcony room) and it gave us perfect privacy. The bed was so comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The hosts were the sweetest people and even sent us a long list of recommendations of places to go and restaurants to eat at. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

The shower overflowed a little onto the bathroom floor but it honestly didn’t bother us at all. We asked for extra towels to help dry the floor and they were provided.

Exceptional place to stay in Chania! A great location, only a few minutes walk from town and harbour. A really good room - top floor room with balcony - both the room and the balcony were very spacious with roof top views towards the sea. Good facilities, lots of kitchen equipment, plenty of storage space in the bathroom The best is the welcome on arrival - raki and home made biscuits - and the warmth and friendliness of everyone there. George, Eleni, Mike and Emmie were so kind and helpful - thank you 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Everything perfect

Casa Dasyra is a little gem in the center of the old town! The check in was so easy! Thanks to Michalis. He texted me on WhatsApp as I didn’t replied straight away to the email. We could even check in earlier as we arrived an hour before check in time. Michalis’ dad came and welcome us and explained everything about the property! He was so friendly and we had the great surprise of having the best room with a roof terrace! 😻🥰 The room was quiet, clean, spacious and had an amazing view! I would 100% recommend this place and we want to come back during our next road trip in Crete! 💕 Thanks for your kindness!

Breakfast not included but our host gave us ‘treats’ of home made cake and a huge bowl of cherries. The terrace was lovely for a quiet supper and breakfast outside. Great for drying our washing - hand wash powder provided. Room service with clean sheets and towels we appreciated.

I , as an older lady with knee replacements found the stairs awkward as there wasn’t a hand rail on the last turn of stairs and I had to have my husbands help each time.
