Despina was very welcoming and offered us a superior double room in the hotel for the same price as the rooms we had booked down the road (at a pretty special price). It was my partner’s birthday celebration so that was kind and well received. When we saw the room and its view (see photos) accepting the offer was a no brainer. The bed was huge and very comfortable (though pillows were a little firm, for my partner’s taste). Bathroom and shower all good. Views across the harbour to the lighthouse were exceptional. It was quiet but then it was a Wednesday night in January. Expect it to be much livelier May to October. Breakfast was varied and very generous.

The sound insulation between the rooms was not great. It’s an old building with wooden floors. We could hear someone walking above us, for a while, but it was no real problem as he or she was very quiet. Tea and coffee was provided in the room but there was only one tea bag and no milk. Also, there was no kettle. Perhaps we should have boiled water for tea in the coffee maker? Not sure, so I had black coffee instead. When we returned to the hotel quite late it took us a while to realise that you just wave the card at the street door to unlock it. In our (by then) well-oiled state we couldn’t understand why there wasn’t a slot for the card! Can’t blame anyone but ourselves for that, I guess…

Very nice location.

I was charged extra tax when I arrived there. Athough I payed everything on booking before I arrived. Very squeaky floors. It’s a very old building and you can hear the guest walking in the bedroom on top of you and the people staying on the bottom can hear you walking. The toilets are very high you need a small step to put your feet on otherwise they are hanging.

Staff were not welcoming either at check in or breakfast or thankful upon check out. However, we were walked to the property which was nice. Space was smaller than expected. One towel was stained and dirty. Floors were still wet on arrival even though we couldn't check in until 3pm even though the cleaner knocked and asked us to leave at 11.15. Check out is 11.

the location is top - at the heart of the old town, close to many nice restaurants, supermarket and art shops; the interior design is outstanding; the staff is very friendly and supportive; the breakfast is amazing

It is not soundproof. You can hear people moving around in the upstairs room, even what they are talking to each other. This is the only drawback of the hotel, but it is still unpleasant because it interferes with sleep

The location was excellent, everything in walking distance the staff were extremely helpful. Chania is a beautiful place to visit, with so much history and culture to explore. There are lots of adventures on the doorstep.

Our room was quite small, and whilst the bed was large it was too soft.

Luxurious and beautiful suite in the heart of the old town of Chania. Next to the center of the city, it is the perfect spot to enjoy the day and nightlife and the hospitality of the local people. I strongly recommend it

Exellent breakfact included in a historic building. Also the room was really HUGE and a super giant Shower. Bonus : I forgot a dress and my towel, they kept it and labelled it so I could get it back.

Great apartment. Beautiful inside and location was ideal in the old town.

We stayed in a second level apartment with one apartment above. Due to the ceiling structure, you can hear every step and movement in the apartment above. The floorboards creak. It was annoying, but that was the only negative thing I could say. Other than that, it was perfect.

Staff were super personable, helpful and friendly..Perfect central location -close to all. Room was small but not a problem for me as I only use it to sleep!
