We were made to feel so welcome, Costas and Xenia couldn't have been more helpful. The location was perfect - in the old town, nearest to the more authentic parts of Chania and close to an abundant amount of cafes, restaurants and shops. We were greeted in person on arrival, even though it was late and there was plenty of information regarding the house and the area available in the accommodation. It's a little further to the nearest beach from this part of Chania, but an easy walk through the labyrinth of interesting streets made it totally worthwhile. Our hosts were readily available if we needed anything but were totally respectful of our privacy. The house is cleaned regularly, and the small gifts they left for us were such a kind touch. The bus service, if you want to explore the coast, is very good, though it's very easy to just while away the hours in Chania.

There was nothing we didn't like. Don't be put off by the restaurant just outside the house. it's not noisy and is closed by midnight. It's also worth a visit!

We loved staying at Odyssey House! Xenia and Costas were excellent hosts, so welcoming and helpful and kind. They made great recommendations and gave us little gifts when we left too (local olive oil and a very nice home made liqueur). The house is full of character, a very old building full of history and very nicely renovated. A comfortable stay altogether. We also loved the restaurant across, and very easy access to the port and a lovely walk away from Nea Chora beach!

The facilities in the kitchen are basic enough, but at the same time we had everything we needed. There are lots of stairs (the house is on 3 levels), so not as safe for toddlers, but our kids learnt the limits quick enough. It can also get noisy late at night as the restaurant across has live music (but we did enjoy it ourselves one evening, and it was great, really!)

This appartement has a great location within short walking distance to everywhere in Chania. Very spacious in three floors. All basic equipment available. Effective A/C. Small terrace on top floor (no view though). Especially suitable for adults, with small children /elderly people three floors might be bit challenging. The owner couple are absolutely gorgeous, very friendly and welcoming! Small give aways brighten up your vacation!

This did not disturb us, but good to notice that appartement has only one bathroom in the middle floor. It is a very old building so this is very understandable, but might be a challenge again for families with small children.

Odyssey house is an old Ottoman era house thus many stairs but also very spacious with three levels. Xenia and Costas provided everything we needed. Upon request , Xenia told us how to heat up the shower ,also gave us all the tips of the area and restaurants and invited us to their house which is next door , and gave us some their homemade kumquat with liquer to top on Greek yoghurt . Costas also told us some history of the house and Crete , and a list of Greek alphabet and daily phase. And Xenia kindly accommated our very late check in and met us in person . Xenia is very quick to respond regarding our late check in and other questions on email and Whatsapp, also booked taxi for us both from and to the airport.

Because it is an old house with Ottoman era base, it has many stairs. If you have small child/children or elderly, it might not be suitable. Also there is only one bathroom at Level 2, so if you stay at 3rd level you will need to go down stairs to use the bathroom. The shower space is a bit small . I am okay with the stairs but my friend is not a fan.

This was a great location and nothing was too much trouble in regards to service provided. The home was very comfortable, clean , well maintained and located within the old town of Chania. Xenia and Costas were exceptional hosts, providing excellent local knowledge and information about the general location and more specific excursion options.

Thank you Xenia and Costas for your hospitality and being so responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your charming and spacious house, as well as the delicious yogurt and honey. Kumquats were yummy too! We look forward to staying with you again next time we are in Chania.

This was one of the nicest houses we have stayed at on holiday. The owners, Costas and Xenia, were just lovely - Welcoming, kind and informative. The house itself is very well-located in the heart of the old town and a 15-minute walk to the Nea Chora beach, which we visited regularly on our trip. The house was also a cool retreat in the July Southern Europe heatwave which we encountered. It was easy to 'pop back and pop out'. The restaurant next door was great too! We will be back!

Xenia and Costas are great owners. They are kind, ready to help and made our life easy during our stay. The property is an historical building, very well maintained with a perfect location, just in the heart of Chania old town.

Everything was perfect.

We liked everything. Costas is a history book, we learned a lot about Crete history and local information from him and Xenia, his wife. At the end we got a little traditional present for Easter, as we visited at Easter time. Very nice historical house, in the middle of old town. We totally recommend it and would come back anytime. Thank you, wonderful people!

Great location, it is a walking distance from the waterline and chain of sumptuous restaurants. Stores are close by. The hosts are great, they personally handed us the keys and check on us from time to time if we need anything. Bonus point is that they live right next to the property so they are always available to attend your needs if there is any.
