Friendly staff, excellent location, very clean, comfortable and chilled pool area

Breakfast could be better - either continental or order off a menu and food gets put out for too long and becomes cold or soggy. Coffee could be from the nespresso machine and some chopped fruit would be nice with more selection of pastries. More choice of pool drinks.

We stayed for a week and it was perfect, we got the room with the pool view and had our own sun bed located privately around the corner. The rooms were very modern and clean. The pool was great after a long day and it was very central, with a supermarket next door. We also loved the staff, they helped us with trips, dinner recommendations and always had a smile on their face - they couldn’t be more helpful.

We could have done with some water in the room, or at least an option to buy some and other beverages on site. There is a supermarket close though, so it wasn’t too much of an issue! We also would have appreciated some umbrellas for shade around the sun beds as it can get quite warm! But you can sit in the shade if needed away from the sun beds (we’re just very pale people)

Beautiful little set of rooms. Location in Fira was great. Very short walk from the centre of town and the bus stop (to get to other parts of the island) but the apartments were still very quiet and peaceful. I stayed in the Superior Queen Room and it was clean and comfortable. Not huge but more than enough room for a couple or solo traveller. The pool was lovely and a great area to relax. Staff were friendly and very helpful with booking things like catamaran cruises and airport taxis. No food or drinks are available at the property but a convenience store is right next door and a supermarket plus restaurants are very close by. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel was in a great location, peaceful and very modern. It has a lovely pool area and the rooms are excellent. We had a pool room view. The hotel owners are really nice and made our stay really relaxed. I was so happy we booked this hotel as it suited all our needs and was in easy walking distance of the town and caldera view points. My best wishes to the owners I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The room came with a coffee maker. We requested a kettle and some cups and they were provided immediately.

There are no negatives. The hotel does not provide breakfast any more but there are so many places nearby and we do brunch more than breakfast. I can't think of anything not to like with this hotel.

The hotel space is gorgeous, it has a designer feeling. It is also conveniently located a few minutes from the heart of Thira with all the shops and restaurants. It is close the bus terminal and has a large supermarket nearby. The staff was easy to communicate with and they kindly arranging a transfer to the hotel. They also assisted with an early check-in. The room was very spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the small bacony. We truly appreciated the acces to the outdoor pool after a long day of exploring. Overall, although the room was different from what we expected, we are happy to recommend Uma Ray to anyone.

The current description (june 2025) of the superior queen room on booking isn’t accurate. The special feature of the room is an “access” to the pool and the “sea view” refers to a street view, with a glimpse of the sea, a few kms away. It is not a caldera view. Considering the hotel location and the wording used to describe the room, this may cause some confusion.

Everything! The Uma Ray Suites is perfect for a solo traveler or couples. The staff is amazing! They were available any time I needed them. They helped me plan tours, order in food, and made sure I had everything I needed. The grounds were emaculate! Two pools, plenty of space for relaxing or hanging out. The room was beyond spacious with a very comfortable bed and great balcony. The location is near a supermarket, a 3 min walk from the city center, and a 5 minute walk to a gorgeous sunst over looking the sea. I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for anyone going on holiday.

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast and the room had pool access, everything was clean and well taken care of, Fira's center is just around the corner and so are a big supermarket and the central bus station

We had the loveliest stay at Uma Ray suites. We had the pool view room which had its own private double sun lounger which was really special. We could access the pool from the room as well which was nice! The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive. We were given pool towels, and there were robes and slippers too. We didn’t use the indoor pool, but it looked very clean and was heated. The outside pool was also very clean and nice and refreshing! The location was great , only 5 mins from the bus station and 2 mins from lovely restaurants with unreal views. We would love to come back & stay here again, and would definitely recommend!

Very clean and tidy room! The hotels look very new and modern. The swimming pool looks good (although we didn’t try it). Also very great location near to market, restaurant, and bus stop. The staffs are very nice. It also provide taxi service from and to the airport.

The room is somehow poor of ventilation, but with A/C it would not be a great problem. The switch of the light for the balcony of our room is broken and the light for the balcony kept on all the nights. Although it could be mostly covered by the curtains, but still a little bit annoying.

The property is immaculate with all amenities in a very good location 2 mins walk to the Caldera. The property owner and his staff are very helpful and go out of their way to give you recommendations regarding restaurants and excursions. The young lady in reception was especially very good and always went out of her way to say hello to us and offer any advice.

That the air conditioning was not turned on our 1st night and it was very hot in our room . As it was the start of the season it was still on heat settings. The reception staff sorted this out the next day and it was switched back to cold which was very good. The breakfast items could be more choice especially the beans were a cold option instead of being hot to eat with hot breakfast items. There was no English breakfast tea available etc just flavoured teas like Earl Grey so any English travellers who choose to stay here bring your own tea bags. The lady in the breakfast room was always very helpful every morning bringing us condiments.
