The El Greco hotel in Heraklion boasts an excellent location, mere steps from restaurants, shops, ticket offices, churches, and museums. With its spacious and immaculately clean rooms, this hotel is a perfect choice for travelers seeking convenience and comfort. If being close to the heart of the city is a priority, the El Greco is an ideal home base for exploring Heraklion and the surrounding area.

My stay at the El Greco started on a sour note due to an unpleasant interaction with a condescending staff member. After being incorrectly told that my friend was already in my room, I went upstairs only to find the room empty. When I returned to the front desk to retrieve my key, the staff member admonished me for not checking the pigeon holes first, rather than acknowledging his own mistake. As a paying guest, I was taken aback by his dismissive attitude and failure to provide courteous service. While the hotel itself was satisfactory, this incident left a negative impression.

Excellent location. The hotel is situated in the city centre. Around cafes, shops and restaurant. It rather place for younger people, because on Saturday was a bit loud because of the street party. Very friendly staff, for sur I will return to El Greco hotel.

Poor Internet. The hotel needs redecorating. Looks like from 70' last century. Inside is even a phone box. Also lack of some drink bark makes impression that this is student house rather than hotel.

The staff is polite. Hotels' location is central. It is an ideal spot for walks and visits to most of the city's points of interest

the bathroom is very narrow, and the basin is crammed into a corner, just enough to be used by a small child. The mattress was hard. The room needs renovation. Due to traffic changes in the city, the hotel is not accessible by vehicle. You can get relatively close by vehicle and after a short walk you are at the site.

It was ok to stay for a short period of time (1 day).

Breakfast was so so. 1 egg, 1 bun, some butter, a couple of cookies, 1 apple and pretty much it. I suggest getting breakfast somewhere else. Another thing. You need to sign a form that the hotel is not responsible for the valuables left in your room. The funny thing is that you need to leave your room key at the reception desk when you leave your hotel.

A centrally located hotel just near the Morosini Fountain, perfect for a long weekend in Heraklion. Rooms are cleaned daily. The bus station is in 5 Min. walking distance, many supermarkets and restaurants nearby. For seafood lovers I can recommend Vranas, restaurant located in a quiet small street with great menue and nice prices. Grilled octopus, sepia cooked in own ink with red wine and fresh fried anchovies are must try there!

Can be a bit noisy in the night because of the central location. The beds were quite hard. The Wi-Fi connection was very weak and unstable, constantly interrupting.

The room was very clean and housekeeping refreshed the room beautifully each day. The staff at reception were helpful and professional. It was right in the centre of town and I loved my balcony and the whole room. I felt like it was really good value, very professionally run and more like a 3 star hotel. I had pretty much everything I needed - nice size desk, good wardrobe with shelves and a fridge. It felt safe and secure.

The Wi-Fi was very slow and I ended up hot spotting to my phone. It would have been nice to have an electric jug but not sure if that can be expected for the price. The black out curtains were good but there was no see through curtain for privacy so if I wanted to get changed I felt like I had to close the black out blinds and turn on the lights unless the windows were tinted and I did not realise.

This hotel is right in the heart of Heraklion. All around you can find shops, cafés and restaurants. Very pleasant place. It's a basic hotel but extremely good value for money. Clean towels and sheets and room cleaned every single day. Staff pleasant. Would definitely choose it again. Also a safe with a number combination to use.

We tried the breakfast once which was 5 euro. It was a kind of all you can eat but the food was pre packaged. They did have boiled eggs, cereal, Greek yoghurt to choose. But the coffee not so great. We decided to have breakfast out. There are so many places to choose from and a variety of prices. The rooms and bathrooms in particular are on the small side but it wasn't a big problem for us.

One particular incident during our visit truly highlighted the exceptional nature of the El Greco Hotel staff. Unfortunately, my son fell ill with the stomach flu during our stay. As worried parents, we approached Mr. Kyriakos for assistance, and he displayed genuine concern and empathy. He even went the extra mile by accommodating our request for a late check-out so that my son could rest adequately before our departure. In conclusion, our stay at the El Greco Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The convenient location, coupled with the attentive and caring staff, made our experience truly memorable. Mr. Kyriakos's dedication and assistance during my son's illness were particularly touching and showcased the hotel's commitment to guest well-being. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend the El Greco Hotel to anyone visiting Heraklion, and I look forward to returning on my next trip to this beautiful city.

The bathroom was a bit tight.

The location is perfect in the very centre of Iraklio, 1 min from the Morosini fountain. Friendly and helpful staff, clean. Not luxurious, but given the location, good value for money. 10-15 min walk from the bus station, 5 min walk to the airport bus stop.

Nothing important. As minor issues: only 2 electrical sockets; distance between bed and table very narrow; fridge does not cool very well.

I booked a single room, new bathroom, comfortable room, new towels which was a nice touch I was met at reception by Eva, whom was very nice and professional - Eva made time to speak to me and has a really good personality - Gilliachus whom was covering night-shift was also really nice, Hotel has a very good location in the centre of the city Hotel was very clean and well run I will return to this hotel
