We arrived in Heraklion at midnight and the hotel we thought we had two nights reservation we discovered it was only one night booked. We arrived at that hotel only to find the doors locked and noone at the front desk to help us. We went on booking.com and found Irini hotel only two blocks away with a room available at a very reasonable price and the doors were open and a very helpful gentleman at the front desk. Thank you Irini Hotel for rescueing us! Also this hotel is walking distance to the city center, which is so convenient. The room was very clean and nice.

You cannot beat the location. Just block from the center square and the port where we walked for several excursions. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It’s not fancy but I found it comfortable, clean, nice breakfast and helpful staff. 100% stating there again. I am as there with my 2 teenager and I requested .the 3 single bed option, which I got - very comfortable.

The continental breakfast had a good choice of fresh fruit, cold meat, salads eggs etc. In addition to toast,cake and cereals with Fresh Greek yoghurt and a range of fruit juice teas, coffees etc All cheerfully presented with warm hospitality.

Nothing! The staff were all so welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant!

Our stay at Irini Hotel in Heraklion Airport Town turned out to be a pleasant surprise, thanks to some unexpected flight delays caused by UK Air Traffic Technical Issues and airline staff's less-than-stellar performance at Heraklion Airport. Central Location: Irini Hotel's prime location in Heraklion couldn't have been more convenient. Situated near the city centre and the old port, it allowed us to explore the area effortlessly. Warm Welcome: The front desk staff deserves a special mention for their warm and friendly welcome. They not only greeted us cordially but also went the extra mile to arrange our transportation back to the airport, which was a big relief. Comfortable Accommodation: Our room at Irini Hotel was spacious and ideal for a family. We particularly appreciated having two balconies and large, comfortable beds that provided a restful night's sleep. Exploring Heraklion: Despite our unexpected stopover, the hotel served as an excellent base for our 24-hour adventure in Heraklion. The city's vibrant port and nearby shopping facilities offered plenty of opportunities for exploration and indulgence in retail therapy. Heraklion boasts a wealth of shops, and if you're a shopping enthusiast, you won't be disappointed. Final Thoughts: For a short stopover in Heraklion, especially if you're looking for a well-located hotel that doesn't break the bank, we would definitely recommend Irini Hotel. It provided us with the comfort and convenience we needed during our unexpected layover, and the friendly staff's assistance was the icing on the cake.

Limited Toiletries: The only letdown during our stay was the absence of toiletries in the bathroom. Considering the price range, we expected the hotel to provide basic amenities like shampoo and shower gel, which are common in many hotels of this calibre. Breakfast Note: While the breakfast spread was sufficient to kickstart the day, it was slightly limited in variety.

Everything was excellent: Super friendly and helpful staff (they took the time to walk across the street with us to show us the grocery shop and street with restaurants), very good and varied breakfast, clean room with efficient air conditioning, great location close to the seaside and main pedestrian street in Heraklion.

I have to think real hard for a negative. So here is one: The view from the room/balcony is other houses; do not expect to see the ocean. But for sea view just book a hotel in Amudara...

A nice option in the busy streets of Heraklion. Small rooms, but recently renovated I think and comfortable for a short stay. Balcony was surprisingly large considering the relatively small room though! Additionally the staff members I spoke to in person were super friendly and helpful, so definitely helped to make a good impression.

I messaged a few days in advance to ask for advice regarding parking, knowing the streets were super tight around the hotel, yet the hotel initially just told me to ask upon arrival - meaning I would need to find somewhere to park the car before asking about parking. Not great logic on that one... Got a bit more advice upon pointing this out, but it could have just been made clearer from the start. Also noted that our shower bracket was broken or removed, so we had to hold the shower head. And a bit more variety at breakfast would be nicer too, though appreciate this might be due to the limited space in that room.

Very good location close to city center and to the port. Rooms has everything necessary including nice balcony. Staff was helpful and always present.

The room was bit too small. Bed has only a small blanket, which was not very comfortable. Breakfast was always the same (we were there 4 days).

We stayed only one night before taking the flight. A very good central location. The paid parking is in the front of the hotel. The rooms are rather small, but comfortable - Perfect for a short stay

The AC works as long as the key card is in the slot, so when youre out for a day, the room can get really hot and stuffy. The ventilation seemed not too efficient

change breakfast from time to time by offering other fruit juices, omelettes or scrambled eggs instead of always hard-boiled eggs. and vary the fruits. that would be a plus

Lovely simple buffet breakfast continental style. Staff were extremely helpful as we needed to get in touch with a friend who lives locally and were having problems with this. They allowed us to use the hotel phone and gave him instructions in Greek as to how to get here.
