I enjoyed my time at Gita Gili Bungalows, they are basic & right infront of the beach. The young male staff do their best to look after you. Good to have the pool. Saw turtles directly out from GG bungalows. Price is good. Big shady trees, i found it quiet there. Thumbs up appreciation for Gita Gili Bungalows & the staff working there. 🙏

My Bathroom was a bit dark & needs more lighting. Toilet valve needed turning on to flush toilet ,& then had to turn it off when flushed.

I loved the receptionist (office manager) who works at the front desk and deals with all of the admin & reservations. She is incredibly helpful and such a good human in general. I will miss her! I loved the location and the Bungalows. They are directly in front of the water with access to snorkel at any time, there are turtles swimming by the shore! You can hire gear if you don't bring your own. The breakfast is ok and they a variety of choices. I absolutely love that the island is cat friendly but this hotel is super nice to the local cats and often feed them so they do not go hungry. The staff are super helpful for any trips or tours and any unfortunate events. Often in rain season there are blackouts but the staff are prepared to improvise light with candles.

I absolutely loved the banana pancakes served at breakfast – truly delicious! The location is perfect: very peaceful, ideal for watching the sunrise, and close to many great restaurants. The welcome from Dewi, Bara “Barracuda,” and the rest of the team was warm and thoughtful. The pool is also perfect for relaxing after enjoying all the activities the island has to offer.

The doors don’t always close perfectly, which can let a few mosquitoes in but honestly, that’s just a small detail and didn’t affect the quality of the stay.

I particularly love Gita Gili for; • It's old-school charm; rustic beach bungalows. • It's beach front location. We booked an hour ahead of arrival one morning and were kindly granted an early check-in. Friendly staff (Hi, Levy! :-D ) welcomed us at the bar with an ice tea welcome drink. Rooms were freshly cleaned & cool. I will comment on Bungalows #4 & #5, which my group used; they are identical. Lovely traditional design buildings, with high ceilings & woven bamboo interior walls. Wide front porch has chairs & table, clothes rack & a hammock. Timber interiors can feel dark, but four ceiling lights brighten up the room. There are no bedside lamps. (Tip; We usually travel with a night light that plugs into a power outlet & a hand torch in case of power outtages). There's one power outlet on each side of the bed & 1 more by the shelves on opposite side of room. Spacious open shelves along one wall provides sufficient storage space to unpack belongings. There is a safe attached here, too. Mosquito net over bed is new & clean. Bed & pillows are comfy enough, sheets are not new, but are clean; nothing luxurious, but they do the job. Blanket on the bed (a plus for me, as I like to have that bit of warmth & weight). We had to request a top sheet (it is not uncommon to find beds with bottom sheet & blanket only); staff were happily obliging. AC worked well; new machine, not noisy or smelly. Room was comfortably cool. Refillable glass water jug & glasses in the room (yay, no plastic bottles!!) & a gallon we can refill from in the restaurant. Bathroom is spacious & partially open to the sky, which is great, so no mould issues. Of course, mosquitoes can come in this way. We usually bring some mozzie coils with us when staying in Gili; useful in these situations (can buy from the Gita Gili shop next door). Yes, there are some ants in the room; we're in the tropics.

Everything was fine. These are not criticisms, just suggestions; • The room could be improved with bedside lamps & a few more handy hooks. • Bathroom door lock in Room 4 doesn't lock or stay closed from the bathroom side. • For a 'mini makeover', I can imagine some fresh neutral curtains; a lightweight, quality, modern, linen fabric would look really nice; a bit fuller to cover the windows completely so no gaps for more privacy & better light block-out. (Not urgent; just an idea!). • There's no fridge. No kettle. No bedside lamps. ....But, it's easy to work around these things.

The location of the stays was really good. Two minutes by the sea. Really magical sunrise position to enjoy a lovely breakfast. The room was really nice with a lovely atmosphere. Lunch and dinner is possible and good. Swimming pool area, a relaxing spot to enjoy the calm. The place is very nice located. 10 minutes walk from the main port.

It was everything nice. The only point is about the bathroom in which wasn’t really comfortable and clean

Gita Gili is a fantastic place to stay on Gili Air! The pool and the outside facilities are amazing. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, they will organise all trips for you. Make sure you organise a snorkelling tour through them as it was such good value for money! We loved Gili Air so much, we extended our stay at Gita Gili. Make sure you hire the bikes for a day and explore the beaches in the north, they are fantastic. Huge plus that there are water fountains and refillable jugs, so no wasted plastic!

The accommodation is traditional and simple, however you have everything you need. You just need to enjoy the snorkelling and turtles straight from your room!

Absolutely loved this place! The staff - from excellent manager Amir, to amusing Sun, to kind and helpful Barak/Levi, to the great cooking that I enjoyed, done by Leeza and Isnayni.... just wonderful! I was picked up at the port when I arrived to walk over to Gita Gili with staff that carried my knapsack and used a regular bicycle to carry my 2 light bags of necessities. Lovely welcome drink (was truly welcome on a very hot day) - can't remember what it was - maybe lemon and honey iced tea? Very refreshing. The pool was both beautiful to look at, and also to just cool down in, with dipping or swimming, rather than worrying about washing off sand from the beach. But the beach... and the ocean... welcomed me daily with beautiful sunrises, gorgeous colours and an inviting space for meditation and contemplation. So close to so many restaurants, stores, and friendly people to interact with on my daily walks. On my departure day, Sun walked me to get me safely and easily to my next place. Truly a beautiful experience all around.

Speed of service can be slow during busier times. Staff can get distracted/forgetful when several people are asking for things around the same time. Cost of meals was a bit (sometimes a lot) higher than other places I discovered on the island, but it was easy to get around this island from this location to discover other places too,

Great pool area and lovely gardens around the cottages. The location was very good, about 10 mins walk to the main street or you can cycle. I went snorkeling from right outside the hotel and saw a huge turtle just off the shore. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We also rented bikes which was helpful to get around the island.

Our cottage was nice although dark and really attracted mosquitos because of the open air bathroom. On our last night the power went out in the room at about 2am. The poor lad on night duty didn't know how to fix it and said it was because someone had forgotten to top up the electricity meter. Because of how hot the room got without a/c we had to move rooms in the middle of the night. Breakfast was quite poor for this price point. Because it was quite bad we didn't eat food at the restaurant the rest of our stay. I think if they improved the breakfast the restaurant might do better.

Staff is great and absolutely beautiful location too. No surprise, as this was my second stay here within one year. There are so many choices to choose from even on this tiny island, but this was perfect for me!

Some delays in meal serving even after placing order... but staff likely tending to other guests too. Certainly allows a mindful practice of patience, and that's always a good skill to practice and maintain in each situation - here or in our home countries too!

I loved Gita Gili Bungalows. Dewi the reception lady was wonderful and so friendly. She kept a suit case in storage for me when I travelled. It's right next to the beach so easy access to snorkeling. Bikes for rent. Also perfectly situated between many restaurants and a 24h shop. The gardens are pretty and the pool is great and it's quite despite being next to the beach road. I loved it so much I'm returning. See you soon Dewi x
