- once you pass the gate you feel like entering a castle - the parking area was incredible and convenient - room service was very good - premises was truly fascinating and cozy - application of the tv was ok - the backyard was the highlight of the hotel with - - - incredible pool view and nice cafe-like area (although no one was there to get any orders) was so calming and heart warming - staff were professional and welcoming

- one of the espresso cups was a little dirty could’ve been avoided - elevator was a little slow - the chairs in the junior suite were not comfortable - location is a little far away from the main action - the lobby is a bit small - breakfast area or internal breakfast area is a bit small - tv channels weren’t functioning

This lovely property was a delight to experience. The spa was beautiful and the property was architecturally perfection.

Everything was first class! The castle is outstanding and very beautiful! No detail was left out when restoring this wonderful gem right in the heart of Bolzano. The staff from start to finish were extremely accommodating and gracious! They provided wonderful recommendations (thank you Tatianna) and concierge services (thank you Thomas)! I apologize if I did not spell your names correctly. Regina was outstanding with requests for drinks at breakfast and otherwise. Valentina in the spa provided a very relaxing massage! The breakfast buffet was a site to behold and displayed in such an inviting way that you wanted to try everything! Room service is a treat you must try. We did not use the pool, but it was clean and in a beautiful setting. The room was very special! Probably the most relaxing accommodations of our entire two week stay in northern Italy. My husband had the best sleep of his adult life here! Bravo to the proprietors and staff of Castle Hortenberg! You deserve a 5 star rating from us!

Not one thing

The hotel is located in a quiet part of the city but yet close to the historic center. The premises of the hotel are beautiful. The pool and the garden are great and there are sufficient lounge chairs to enjoy staying there. We enjoyed having breakfast, lunch and dinner on the terrace. The service of all the staff members is impeccable and everyone’s approach is warm and friendly. We especially enjoyed the service of sommelier Samir. His knowledge of wine is incredible and every time he managed to surprise us with another exquisite bottle. Not only he but also the chef highly contributed the our pleasure of staying in the hotel. On the premises itself you can park the car. We will certainly come back.

Staff Staff Staaf - the most welcoming, helpful and warm people who deserve 10 stars. Zero discrimination/racisim, since we are muslims, we always face at least one or two staff members with discriminating attitude and behavior in all the hotels around Europe, however in Castel Hörtenberg, we didn’t even feel a single bad sign from them. Many many thanks guys, I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and relatives. Of course the facilities and all other things were great.

Only couple of things, the restaurant needs improvement in terms of the food, most of the dishes felt tasteless (to my taste) maybe it suites other people. The other thing is that when the housekeeping keeps the windows open after cleaning, there is a possibility that small bugs will enter the room. Still these are minor issues.

Wonderful location! Fairly close to City Center but not so close it was noisy. We are walkers and nothing was more than 10-15 minutes away. Beautiful grounds. Very serene and relaxing. Our room was spacious and comfortable! Staff was excellent. My Italian is beginner level and while it was never needed, everyone was patient while I tried to converse. They also helped with reservations and recommendations. We just left and are already thinking of our return visit.

Everything. From the beautiful facade, to the incredibly beautiful entrance to reception, from the helpful and friendly reception staff to the brilliant bar staff, nothing can top this place. It is in a very good location, the drinks and breakfast were brilliant, the rooms are wonderful. Definitely the most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever had the luxury of staying in. Beautiful views from the window to the mountains and cable car above. If you are ever wondering "will it be worth it?" It absolutely will, and it will exceed your expectations.

What a wonderful experience at Castel Hörtenberg! Every aspect of my stay was great, from the comfortable bed to the delicious breakfast. As frequent visitors to Bolzano, we've experienced many hotels, and Castel Hörtenberg stands out as one of the absolute best. But the highlight for me was the incredible staff, especially the charming and exceptionally kind Ms.Tatjana working at the reception. She was not only beautiful but also incredibly efficient and helpful, always ready with a genuine smile and great advice. Her warmth and professionalism made me feel so welcome and truly valued as a guest. She's a true asset to the hotel, making an already excellent stay even better!

Beautifully designed hotel with a great location and really stylish. Our room had a patio door out onto a deck and garden and the swimming pool which was great. The staff were friendly and professional and helped us book local restaurants. Breakfast selection was super and beautiful eating and relaxing area in the garden.

The rooms lacked adequate hanging space for clothes, which made unpacking and organizing a bit inconvenient — especially for a longer stay. The gym, while well-equipped, had no air conditioning - got a bit hot in July!

Tommaso greeted us with great hospitality, helped us with all of our plans, and gave us a really lovely room. The castle is beautiful, well located and our room was quite special. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to stay in Bolzano.

The staff for breakfast, evening drinks, and dining in the restaurant seemed inefficient and inattentive. We are sorry to say this as this is such a lovely property. Perhaps staff was overwhelmed and simply not able to give adequate service. We would not be able to recommend the restaurant.
