The property was perfectly located, very central. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. It took only 15 minutes to walk to the main train station, just 10 minutes down the road to the centre of the city. It was located on a relatively quiet street. We felt safe there as two young female travellers. The staff were all so kind! They happily held our bags on the day of check out for a few hours, and were so helpful. The lady who serves breakfast is so lovely. Breakfast itself was good- coffee/tea, granola, fruit, yoghurt, breads and pastries… Our bedroom was very clean, and cleaned daily during our stay. The hotel itself was well decorated, and we loved our stay there.
It is located at the top of lots of stairs. We were lucky that upon check in, someone helped us with our bags up all the stairs!! But the stairs alone are not a reason to avoid a stay.

What a great place! Very clean and up-to-date. The location was EXCELLENT. We were just down the street from the new terminus of the T2 tram (San Marco) which meant that we could take the tram anywhere including the airport (no anxiety waiting for a taxi; cost us €1.70 per person). San Marco has a university so there was cheap, easily available student food everywhere. We were within easy walking distance to everything! Rocco and his staff were wonderful: very knowledgeable. They were especially patient with us when we wanted to print out our flight check-in confirmations. I found the bed very comfortable and the room had everything we needed including a small fridge. And THE BREAKFAST. If you're concerned about getting enough breakfast in Italy (in our experience, most places in Italy only offer you a pastry and some form of caffeine) then is the place - the breakfast was delicious, varied (veggie and non), and hearty enough that we didn't need lunch.
Our room happened to be facing the street and there was recurring noise as the students made their way to/from San Marco University at all hours. Closing the window mostly fixed this. The hotel is up ~52 stairs and no elevator; perfectly fine if you're able-bodied (we had no trouble) but be warned.

Location is very good, a short walk to all touristic attractions, but not in the middle of the crazy touristic area. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Hotel is clean and rooms look new and well kept. Keep in mind the hotel is located on the 3rd floor of a residential building (this is something quite common in Italy) and there is no elevator - big suitcases may be difficult to carry up the stairs though the reception man went down to help. The bathroom is small, again quite common in Italy.

Location was the primary reason for renting this room. The breakfast service was great. However, breakfast was essentially all bread. There were some excellent restaurants close by for dinner. Shopping was a close walk away. Popular tours were close by and within an easy walk.
Stairs. No elevator. When we rented the room it was not apparent that there was no elevator. There was no way we could have gotten our bags to our floor without help. Italy is a walking country, and after walking around most of the day a ride on an elevator would have been welcome.

My first time in Florence and I was very lucky. Hugo Hotel's location is excellent, right in the centre, yet quiet. It's clean, comfortable, great staff and very helpful. I especially thank Ariana and Rocco for their welcome, help with suitcase and hospitality. I will definitely come back, despite the 3 flights of stairs. Rocco's punctuality and help, even before coming, by sending advice regarding access and transportation was extremely valuable.
I would suggest a simpler breakfast, i.e., not so much starch, e.g., non-fat milk and eggs and cheese to taste, that guests can select by themselves. I am not saying the breakfast was not good. It could give the opportunity of less starch and less sugar.

Super well located, main sites accesible by foot, and public transportation 5 min away. Breakfast was nice, although I could use some eggs. Rooms are modern, confortable and clean. Take into account you have to go up 3/4 floors to get to the hotel. In general it was a lovely stay and would absolutely recommend.
Eggs for breakfast would be my only "complain".

Brilliant hotel. Stuff was very helpful, i usually do my breakfast with only coffe but there were various options for breakfast so i recommend it. 10 minutes to Duomo by walking, 15 minutes from tren station by walking. 100% book the same hotel if i came back to Florence again. Also the room has more than enough space so it feels really comfortable. Air conditioner works very well too.
Hotel is on the second floor but there is no elevator. Carrying baggages on the stairs is exhausting but if you give them a call they'll help.

Beautiful little hotel in a good location. Excellent breakfast and staff.
It is on the second floor (European-style, so third by American standards) and there isn’t an elevator. The description says that upper floors are only access by stairs but doesn’t make it clear that there is nothing that is accessible without the flights of stairs. The walls are on the thin side so you could hear the other guests at times. I would absolutely stay there again, but the stair issue is a good thing of which to be aware.

Location, 15 min easy walk to the doumo, Staff were amazing
The flight of stairs but staff came to help, so thank you again to all the staff. Our AC wasn't the best it produced cold air but when set to a colder temp we felt as though it didn't match to the air that was produced. The bathroom is a bit small for 2 guest staying at the property

We loved the general vibe of the hotel, the staff were very, very friendly and helpful, especially Roco, from reception, who gave us advice on great restaurants and local attractions, and booked taxis when needed. The cleaning is also amazing, as is the breakfast.
Not having elevator was challenging for carrying the luggage, however we had that information before booking. Otherwise, we loved absolutely everything.
