The room was beautiful, the bed was superbly comfortable and the shower in the big bathroom was fantastic. The staff were very kind and Niccolo went far above and beyond expectations trying to ensure our comfort when there was an issue that was no one's fault. Beautifully located, not just for beautiful Florence and the River Arno but also not far from La Carriara for the best gelato and Gino's Bakery just by the Pointe Vecchio for coffee and fantastic cannoli and everything tastes incredible.

We made the mistake of walking with our bags so we were disheartened when google map directions led us astray a few times before we got to the landmark Palazzo Guicciardini on the Via de Guicciardini - and then realised the hotel Palazzo Guicciardini is on Via Santa Spirito! Best to get a taxi to the hotel then explore Florence without the baggage.

The room we had (Room #1) was enormous with 20 foot ceilings and around 1500 sq ft. The walls were frescoed and ceilings very decorative. This is a 15th century building and the rooms seems like those you see in museums. The location was fantastic, close to the city center and even closer to Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area too.

Being a 15th century building, there are some minor funky-ness to be aware of. There is a tiny elevator but still a handful of steps between that and the reception area. Exiting the inner gate was a little tricky to figure out until you notice the button that is behind you are you exit.

We were a family of 5 and the family suite we had was amazing and beyond our expectations. The room and the bathroom were huge and made us feel we were living in history. This is the only property in our italy stay which had an elevator - a big plus with little children. The location of the property wasn’t central, but everything was within a 20 min walk, which was great.

The sofa bed mattress was kind of uncomfortable and sagging and needs to be upgraded. Breakfast for me was disappointing. It was just a sweet breakfast - a bunch of breads, croissants and some basic cereals. It had no proteins - eggs or meat. If the breakfast had some savory options as well this hotel would have been a 10/10 for me.

Room interior was amazing.

First, when I requested a towel, the receptionist directed me to check with my friend’s room, which felt very inconvenient especially since I am a guest and should not have to go searching in another room for availability. In addition, the housekeeping service was disappointing. There was vomit on the bed sheet, and while the bed was made, the sheet itself was not properly cleaned or replaced. Overall, the cleaning service and customer experience need significant improvement. Despite the room being beautiful and the location excellent, these small yet important details can completely change one’s perspective. At times, it felt as though I was staying on the street rather than in a proper hotel.

The rooms felt palatial and the alfresco work on the ceilings was exception. The property felt fairly newly renovated and was in the most perfect location and very central. Also please don't go by the review of google as this place is exceptional and superbly located. It's in a ZTL zone but all you have to do is to drive upto the property and they arrange for a pickup and drop service like a valet service which is unique in Europe, also the hotel manages the ZTL permit for the car. It was super cozy and the best part was we covered full Florence on foot because of this property.

From the moment we arrived at Palazzo Guicciardini, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff greeted us kindly and immediately offered us a map of the city, along with thoughtful recommendations for attractions and places to explore in Florence. Their friendliness and helpfulness truly stood out and made us feel right at home. Our room exceeded all expectations – it was absolutely beautiful, full of charm, and incredibly comfortable. You could really feel the historical elegance of the building, yet everything was perfectly maintained and modern where it mattered. What made our stay even more special was the personal touch from the owner, who kindly offered to assist us at any time if we had questions or needed help. It was clear that genuine hospitality is at the heart of this place. Overall, Palazzo Guicciardini was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence!

Great location for exploring Florence, really close to the centre, just across the water. The room was fine, although the bed was a bit small and not that comfortable. Helpful staff and the reception, gladly answered all the questions and helped with some info.

Don't remember whether they stated on the hotel overview the parking situation, but you have to give your car to a guy that comes from a third-party garage and drives off your car. I didn't like that but since there was no other options nearby we had to accept it. The street of the hotel is a really narrow one and there is no space to leave the car and take out your luggage, a bit awkward to unload your car when there are lots of people walking around you.

This hotel is in a great location, removed from the super busy/touristy areas of Florence. A gorgeous building and our room was breathtaking.

I was offered coffee while we waited for our room to be ready - it was the most horrible, burnt cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. Our biggest letdown was the bathroom - it was honestly pretty gross. Could see mold on the ceiling as well as near the walls of the shower. Bathroom door was also VERY hard to unlock which was odd. For how expensive the room was, this was disappointing.

Our room was huge, with frescos on the ceiling and lovely shutters. It was a small hotel, with about 7 rooms, and a little sitting area and little breakfast room. Breakfast was laid out on a tray for us in the little breakfast room - cake, yoghurts, croissants, cereal, bread, jams, melon - and someone came and made us coffees. It was delightful. The position was fabulous - right by the Ponte Vecchio.

The only drawback was parking, which was offsite and expensive

I have stayed here 6 x. the Palazzo is spectacular and historical. I love staying in Santo Spiritu near Ponte Vecchio where it is in the center but away from noise. The staff is pretty wonderful. Remember it has only 8 rooms so it is a small but adequate group.

The facility is a bit tired. (but so is Florence). I heard they are changing the carpets on November. The staff is only there till 7pm perhaps 9 might be better.
