Super place to stay, would definitely recommend! Great location, the neighbourhood was very attractive and quiet and it was just 10-15mins walk from the metro. The hotel was also very calm and quiet with a beautiful entrance. The room was very clean, a good size with a decent-sized shower. The staff were welcoming and friendly. You do need to leave the room key at the reception when going out but there was always someone to collect our key from when we returned, even when returning late. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but I believe it was possible to have a coffee there. There is also a great café next to the Circo Massimo metro.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made a great impression from the start. The location is excellent, close to everything we needed, and easy to get around. The rooms are quite small, but still comfortable and had everything necessary. A lovely touch was the art on the walls, the paintings added a bit of charm and character to the space.

No major complaints, but the breakfast was a bit underwhelming, nothing particularly special. If you're looking for more variety or a more exciting start to your day, there are more interesting options nearby in the city.

The main thing to like is that the staff are friendly and kind and you feel as if you are staying in a family. The room was cleaned every day and they arranged our teddies out on the bed which made us smile every day when we came back. at breakfast Valeria looks after everyone so nicely. The room was plenty big enough for both of us. The road itself is very quiet and pretty and you can hear birdsong in the mornings. It's really near to the Orange Garden and Mouth of Truth. It's walkable distance to the Colloseum but you can also go by bus. It's walking distance from Rome Ostiense station so easy to get to and from the airport. There is somebody there 24hrs a day to let you in and out. There is a locked gate to the property which they open and close then guests go in and out so feels secure.

Some people might find the shower a bit small but for us was fine. You can hear sounds from the other rooms on the same floor. We wouldn't advise walking from the top side (orange garden) in the dark as it wasn't well lit but from the bottom was well lit and ok.

A quaint old style Italian city residential building. Set back from the residential streets and accessed via a long driveway, it is deceptively quiet (except for the occasional neighbouring barking dogs in the morning!). The location was absolutely perfect for our needs and many things can be walked to within 15 to 30 minutes. The Parthenon is only a 20 minute walk away, and many good restaurants are even closer. The rooms are good sizes and have everything you need. Continental breakfast was good for most of our group. Very good location, surrounded by tree lined residential streets. Great hotel for the price, great location and would definitely stay again.

It is 1 star, so expectations have to be managed. The room heater in our bedroom didn't work and a bed side light bulb was blown over one of the beds. The shower whilst good, we found the head needed attention as half of it was blocked, meaning it was more of a jet, than a shower. Plenty of hot water though. In essence, it seems to lack a little TLC on the maintenance, but hotel was clean. We would definitely stay again if in Rome. For the price and location, it cannot be beaten.

This hotel had a beautiful and quiet setting, had the right mix of modern and more classic style, and the location worked great for me! It was close to useful bus and tram lines, and being close to the metro and the Ostiense train station were great (it was quite easy to get to Fiumicino first thing in the morning!). The 24-hour front desk was necessary for the front gate, but I loved being able to drop off my room key and pick it up when I returned. No lost key for me! Traveling solo, that touchpoint with another person was also welcome. I will also say, it was a distinctly Italian experience, especially with no A.C. and just a fan in July, but I knew what I was signing up for :)

i loved my stay here, if you watched Italian soap Capri about the family that opened hotel in their villa, this place really remined me of that! great neightbourhood, i felt really safe and got to expiriance real Italian vibe. it's really near to the parks from where I saw one of the most beautiful views and sunsets in Italy! everyone was so nice and kind! since my flight was in the afternoon and check out is by 11am they let me leave my lugage until flight so I can enjoy my last day in Rome and I really appriciate that! i will deffinitly book this place for my next visit to Rome!

Major Aventinus is one of the Last Mohicans, one of the last family run hotels in Rome. I ‘d rather spent my money on a traditionally managed small hotel. On top of this It is situated on the quiet, residential, green and historical Aventino hill. On walking distance is the trainstation (Ostiense, direct connection to Airport, Tiburtina and Termini) and metro (Piramide) as well as lively Testaccio and busy Trastevere. The rooms are sparse, but the villa annex garden is a relief.

Very authentic Italian B&B experience! It's located in a quiet part of town, close to the famous "Malta Keyhole." After the loud and chaotic tourist areas in Rome, this was a welcome escape. The property is beautiful and located outside the main tourist area. It was a 15 euro cab ride from the Colosseum to the front door. Just down the hill are restaurants where we had our favorite meal of the trip. It's in a business area so no tourist traps here. Our room was downstairs so it was cooler but please note there is no working A/C. We had what appeared to be an A/C unit but it didn't do much and we had a fan. It was very hot! But we loved the owners and appreciated the 24 hour access. We felt very safe and secure. Highly recommend!

Location is fantastic! In a Historical Part of Rome. We were given a room in a “basement” or you would say a ground level, with window to the garment. At first we were a bit skeptical, since you literally can climb through the window out/in, however, the windows have a great shutters, pretty secure! Staff was always great! Room was cleaned daily. Premises secured by a large Maine gate with the doorbell and you can come or leave at anytime time. There was always someone to open a gate. Our flight also wasn’t till late afternoon, we were able to leave our luggage and pick it up right before our departure!

Besides ground level, everything was great!

The room was a good size, very clean. Felt like a very safe, quiet location. Staff were very approachable. 15-20 minute walk to the Colosseum, 10 mins to the nearest underground station - quite well located. Good value in comparison to similar places in the city.

The only problem was the lack of air conditioning. Southern Europe in the summer gets really warm so this applied to the hotel rooms also. As a result it wasn't always easy to get a good night's sleep. At any other time of the year it'd be ideal
