The room was very clean and had wonderful little extras that we really appreciated, like slippers, water, soda and coffee. The host was very friendly when we spoke to her upon our arrival and departure. AC worked well and the beds were comfortable. The location is safe and very convenient to the metro station or just a 10 minute walk to the colosseum. There is also a tram nearby to venture out to other areas. There are restaurants around the corner if needed and a cafe for your morning coffee. We were able to leave our bags before our afternoon train so we did not have to worry about paying for storage at the train station.

The room was smaller than I expected. There was very little space between the end of the bed and the wall making running into the sharp corner of the bed highly likely if you were not very careful.

When it comes to travel accommodations, I have high standards. My stay at Relais Circo Massimo blew my expectations out of the water. First off, Elena and her staff did a great job communicating with me prior and during my booking. They always responded promptly and there was never a language barrier as you sometimes have with international travel. They provided me with all of the information I needed to make my arrival comfortable. During my trip to Italy, I stayed at six different properties that were booked through Booking.com. Circo Maximo was by far the best of the bunch. The property is located in a nice part of Rome. And a quiet part of the city which is a feat in itself in such a bustling city. Despite the neighborhood, it’s still in a prime location: a short walk to the Roman ruins. And also three minutes or so by foot to get to the Metro and bus station. I’m a light sleeper so quite accommodations are big in my book. The apartment is also secure. There’s a gate that you have to open using a code that’s given to you. And then a different code to open the front door. And finally, keys to enter your apartment. This provides a nice sense of security. With all of this being said, the beauty is in the details. They had everything you need in the apartment and then some. The bed is comfortable. They provided hand towels (only one other property out of the six I stayed at offered this amenity). There’s a mini fridge in the room. They provided you with helpful information through a letter that was printed out and provided upon check-in. They have hand lotion (the only one out of the six to do so). They provided a generous number of complimentary snacks and soft drinks/beer. There’s also a nice garden where you can hang out. Talk about providing all of the amenities you need and then some! If all of this wasn’t enough, Elena was proactive in helping me out. She knew I was planning to travel by bus to get to The Vatican.

As far as areas of improvement, there isn’t much. The shower is in the bedroom which is a bit different. And can potentially be a little awkward if you’re sharing the room with a friend. Not a concern if you’re a solo traveler or traveling with your significant other. My apartment was also right next to the front desk but they kept the noise level down which I appreciated.

Extremely clean apartment on the ground floor of an apartment house. Very friendly and helpful receptionists, great communication before, during and after the stay. Efficient heating in the winter period. Sufficiently equipped kitchen and bathroom. Excellent location in short walking distance from metro Circo Massimo, 10 minutes walk to Forum Romanum, 15 minutes walk to Colosseum. Window facing a quiet inner yard with orange trees. Excellent feeling of security. Good wifi. We would come again!

Size: The bedroom and kitchen could be a bit bigger for 3 persons, but for 1 night it was OK. The mattress in the double bed could be less soft/springy.

Aleksandra and Elena were great hostesses: very clear communication, easy check-in, very friendly, helpful and generous in looking after usv. We really liked the location, central, yet quiet, very easy to reach with public transport. The room was really comfortable and nice, great bed, great shower. The little outdoor garden area with tables and chairs is very pleasant. A really nice extra is the complementary minibar selection, pastries, fresh food, coffee and teas!

Fantastic accommodation, highly recommended. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood. 2 minutes from the metro with which you can reach everything in Rome. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Different complimentary snacks, fruit, water, drinks, tea and coffee were provided, which was very much appreciated. Girl at the reception is so kind and helpful with anything you might need. I would again stay here even if the reason for my visit of Rome wasn't in that neighbourhood.

Location is great- close to tourist sites especially the Colosseum. Pictures are accurate. Snacks and drinks in the mini bar was an extra plus! The hostess was super nice as well as helpful. Very clean, beds were comfortable. The advice she gave us on places to eat wonderful- Giolitti gelato was OMG. Thank you for the wonderful stay! I would stay again!

Nothing I can think of!

Elena and Alaksandra were so friendly and accommodating. I have never been to Rome before and Elena took time to go through a map and show me all the best spots to go, additional to the usual tourist attractions. She showed me all the best authentic Italian restaurants, where the locals like going, and I had the best tiramisu of my life at one of the places she recommended. The hotel itself was spotless, so clean you could eat off the floor. Very comfortable bed and quality pillows. Location was great, walking distance to colosseum and nearby attractions and steps from public transport that would take you directly to Vatican City or other, further away sites. Could not recommend this place more.

The owner was very helpful with my questions beforehand. They can arrange airport or train station transfers for you--just ask. All the directions, such as getting into the apartment, were very clear and worked perfectly. There is a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and stove top, but no oven. I saw a rose garden (Roseto Comunale) nearby that I think is within walking distance, which would be nice place to visit in spring and summer evenings. The neighborhood looks pleasanter than where I had stayed earlier in Rome. It is very near the Circo Massimo Metro station, and if you don't have much luggage, you can walk from the metro station to the apartment.

The kitchen and bathroom felt more spacious than the bedroom--there would be limited space if it were a couple who had a fair amount of luggage, for example.

Everything was amazing. Elena reached out a couple of days before our arrival with all the instructions, we did the check in after noon, so even when they weren't available to receive us personally we had all the steps to do our check in and the morning after were able to meet Elena who went above and beyond, giving us an umbrella because it was raining and we didn't have one. The room is equipped with everything you'll need, the beds are super comfortable and it was very clean, like a new bedroom clean. The location is perfect, we arrived from Termini in the subway. Also, if you just want to get lost in the city you just need to go out and start walking, I assure you will be able to find amazing things to do within walking distance. Thank you for everything, hope to visit again soon!

Super smooth check in and info on directions. Helpful staff with a smile greeting you in the morning. Room was spacious. They were lovely surprising us with a bottle of sparkling wine for my husband's birthday. Loved the chocolates in the rooms too!

I didn't mind it but I'm sure somepeople might. Our shower was in the corner of our room not the bathroom. But it didn't bother me. I'd say rooms are different so if just say to ask if that is something that could bother you.
