We had a lovely room, with a Seaview and it had a balcony with opening doors. The breakfast was lovely, with a good variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was brilliant, right at the port. The restaurant had a great menu and food was delicious. It had a rooftop bar and restaurant, as well as a pool. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel

We had to get the lift up and down to the city square, as we are older now and cannot walk up and downstairs. The lifts were ok but at times, there was a long queue and you have to pay each time you use the lift. They don’t have a weekly pass or anything like that.

It was a good location to move around the port

The pool and rooftop was always close and the access to the hotel it wasn’t easy at night because the city elevator was closed and there wasn’t bus working late.

Loved the view of the port and getting straight there from the ferry. Great restaurant attached and rooftop bar.

The main reason this does not get the highest grade is that there is no fridge in the room; we can't get tap.water without paying for it and there was no balcony or outside area to dry towels and swimming things.

We were return guests after about 6 years absence. The hotel has since installed a rooftop bar and pool which we think makes this almost perfect. It is located at the Marina Piccolo, meaning that travel to Amalfi, Positano and Naples are all within an hour (or 2 for Amalfi). Don’t be daunted by the thought of climbing the stairs to the town every day - there is an elevator within walking distance, and buses will take you up to the centre square or the railway station for a couple of Euros. A hot breakfast is available every day, plus continental in an easy to meet timeframe (7-10.30). The hotel also has an in-house restaurant at which we ate, sharing a delicious, fresh whole sea bass between the two of us. Room was always clean, always comfortable and we had a terrace where we could sit and have a drink and watch the hubbub of the ferries and crowd. It is a dynamic view, looking towards Naples and Vesuvius. We will be returning some time, we hope. Throughly recommend it to you.

Unfortunately, our room did not have a refrigerator (which we found surprising in this day and age) although we understand that other rooms at the same standard do. Also, our safe did not have a lock. I guess that makes it a ‘not safe’. All in all, so many things going for this hotel, these were minor inconveniences.

They seemed to run out of cooked food at the breakfast quite quickly. Our room had a window right next to the road and there was a lot of traffic noise, but we got used to it.

The location was amazing right down by the port. The room was clean and fresh. The staff were fantastic.

There was not a lot to like about Il Faro. It was a long way up a set of stairs to the main piazza but you could always catch the bus. There was only one lift which was slow but that is needed is a little patience.

The staff and public area. The upstairs bar, pool and view are worthy of a 4 star hotel! Lush. The staff are amamzing. Very helpful. Breakfast was looked gorgeous (I was on a diet so just strawberries and coffee for me). The team that do the room service were exception too. The service this hotel provides is worth much more than the three star rating and price you pay. Bargain.

The room we were in was poor. Air con unit did not work, the toilet was a bit iffy, the TV was unusable, the shower was tiny, the bed was a bit solid. But overall who cares? You pay to go on holiday to stay out the bedroom 😁 But still rate this hotel 9/10 for what you get outside the bedroom dragging the score upwards. Highly recommend.

the location is great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I stayed here as part of a wedding in another hotel and I by far had the best location. it is down near pretty much the only beach in Sorrento. It's very near all of the boat dock locations. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back

I personally had no faults with this hotel and would say it was higher starred than it actually is. it feels like a high quality hotel and you were treated as such. the only thing I would like to mention as someone who always reads reviews is although it didn't bother me. the hotel is at the bottom of a cliff. there is an elevator a little walk away and it is very cheap but other than that the only access is done along a winding road or a lot ofvery sheer steps
