We were upgraded to a balcony room with an impeccable view of the lake. The room was clean and had a prosecco bottle and card to welcome us upon our arrival. The only thing I remarked was the small bathroom, although, clean and equipped with plush robes. The breakfast had a phenomenal view and many choices beautifully displayed. The staff, Marina and Francesca, were so friendly and polite. The pool area, bar areas, restaurants, and lobby were all maintained in pristine condition. The location was in a charming piazza next to Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero. Truly a gem in magnificent Varenna.

Everything about this hotel and our stay there was exceptional! The view was beyond description spectacular. The service from check-in to check-out was above expectation. The staff, especially Martina, Mario, Azziz, and Shady, as well as absolutely everyone, was professional and also caring and friendly. The food and drinks were the best of any hotel in which we have stayed anywhere. Location - best, in my opinion, of anywhere on Lake Como. We loved the size of the village and the size of the hotel versus others nearby. The hotel is beautiful, elegant, inviting, and not stuffy - it's perfect!

There is not a single thing I would complain about!

The location is fantastic! The view from our balcony was breathtaking - straight across the lake! The hotel has a free shuttle bus that will pick you up and drop you back at the train station. The train from Milan Centrale is an easy hour journey to Varenna. From the hotel it is a 3 min walk to some restaurants and small souvenir shops - but fyi very steep steps (I held onto my mum! But she’s 77 and she made it up and down without too much bother). The hotel staff are so so friendly and even though we tried a bit of Italian - they all speak brilliant English! Cannot fault this stay. We had a junior suite and it was big, well equipped and there was a small bottle of champagne and a note on arrival - lovely touch.

Fabulous location, but personally thought that the room was overpriced for a junior suite for two days! Really liked pool and the fact you could get into villa cipressi botanical garden too! Breakfast was good! Loved location in Varenna in the square and was quieter compared to that of Bellagio.

Overpriced, personally given the cost for the suite room - thought hotel needed a refresh including the suite which I felt wasn’t really a suite, more a larger room. Decor and style very mismatched.

The view from our room (103) was superb looking out over the Lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was all you could ask for good with a wide variety of choice . The room was good with a large comfortable bed and lovely balcony.

Minor point but the hanging space could have been better to accommodate long dresses. Mirror position, which large enough was sited with the sun behind so difficult to see yourself.

The junior suite was fabulous and the view of the lake outstanding. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Not being able to request room service but the local amenities made up for that.

Everything was wonderful. Overall the property was amazing and we loved our stay there. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the location was perfect. They had a lake view room available and upgraded us for free on arrival which we greatly appreciated as the view was stunning!

We did miss the information that we could have had someone pick us up at the train station when we arrived and ended up walking with our bags. Also, the mattress and pillows were very firm and not the most comfortable for our tastes.

The stay altogether was fine. The hotel is located good, on one side the main village piazza and stunning view of the lake on the other. Good service. Offering nice generous breakfast and we enjoyed the experience of fine dining at the Visteria and afternoon cocktails overlooking the lake (for us worth the price).

The room was a disappointment, Small, crowded, lacking a full mirror, noisy air conditioner, poor light seal (just have the curtains a bit wider) and the supposed enchanting proximity to the church is an annoying sound of the bell awaking at 7am

We had a room with a balcony and it was just stunning. The room was kept spotless during our stay and the breakfast was wonderful. Location right in the main piazza couldn't have been better.

Booked a year in advance and was unfortunatley given a room opposite reception. They insisted it would be ultra quiet but that was not the case. Having booked so early I think the noisier rooms should be left for last minute bookings and people who book early should get the premium, quieter spots.

The location of the hotel is perfect, with a wonderful view over Lake Como. A short walk from the train station at Varenna, less than 10 minutes, as well as being only a 5 minute walk from the ferry. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a few hundred yards of the hotel. Very helpful and friendly team looking after us. The breakfast set up was fantastic, tables overlooking the lake, then, food wise, everything you might want, hot or cold, absolutely loads of healthy options, delicious!

Our bathroom was about the smallest we have ever experienced, in any hotel around the world, no bigger than 1.80m x 1.40m in total, so it was a bit of a tight squeeze. Nevertheless we had a view of the lake and we would still highly recommend this hotel but next time we'd pay a little extra for a lake view, with a balcony.
