The staff at Il Lato Azzurro were wonderful. They all were very friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony in our room was lovely and we took advantage of the bikes to take a ride around the area. It was nice to get away from the crowds in Venice and the island of Sant' Erasmo is beautiful and peaceful.

Not the fault of the hotel, but the water bus several times left ahead of schedule and once even though we were only about 30 seconds away took off without us. Since it only stops at Sant' Erasmo every 45 minutes or so, it was frustrating to miss the bus by seconds and have to wait 45 minutes till the next one.

If you're planning to visit Venice, and don't mind to travel a little bit further from the city, then this place is for you. It was the best and most comfortable accomodation, that I've ever stayed in. We planned a trip for three days in Venice, but wanted to stay at our rooms, that's how comfortable they were. The staff is absolutely amazing, really helpful, kind and understanding of any need you might have, the rooms are sparkling clean and the peaceful setting of St. Erasmo Island is practically to die for. The pizza we've eaten at the hotel was really the best pizza I've ever had, and for that price (8-10 euros) is practically the best price there is. I wish I could live there. Honestly. Il Lato Azurro, you have my heart forever. ❤️

Great stay with great hosts, everyone is helpful and friendly. The accommodation is located on the island of Sant Erasmo, where you can relax from the hustle and busy city. You can reach the accommodation by boat directly from Venice or neighboring islands. (We recommend buying a 3-day or 7-day ticket). Breakfast is served as buffet. They also make you pizza straight from the oven for a very reasonable price. It is possible to borrow a bike and ride around the rural island of Sant Erasmo. Jakub and Hana

We loved the setting outside of the loud city. Enjoying the nights on a quiet island in a cozy hotel. Staff surprised us by offering a free ride at the end of our stay to shorten a pretty lengthy but beautiful walk go a nearby vaporetto. First night was already amazing, the AC nearly instantly chilled our room to help us assimilate to the heat. The views on our balcony were amazing. Breakfast served fresh, pastries made every morning surprised us positively. Daily variety of breakfasts, even though mainly sweet, was just fantastic, especially the coffee made fresh to order. At the end of our stay we finally had time to check around the hotel, and we were glad we did, because we were greeted with amazing fresh pizza out of the kiln, not only cheaper than any where else in Venice but so full of beautiful aroma and taste, we should've eaten our dinners there alone.

Other than the mosquitos outside, there is nothing we can say we didn't like about our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay on the island! The place has a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There’s a beach within walking distance where you can also enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant. The hotel also serves delicious pizza and offers drinks for purchase, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience — peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place!

The hotel is in a unique location...it's one of the lesser known island, it's quiet and we felt like locals! I really wish we had more time to explore what was on the island. The hotel itself is cute and appears to be kept up well. The staff are very nice and there's a neat little pizza food truck right across the one lane road that appeared very popular.

The AC was not working in our original room so the staff move us, which was fine, but the reason given as to why the AC was not working was a little surprising to me. Understandably the season was just beginning to change but considering warm weather was in the forecast I was surprised the staff had not tested the AC units to ensure they were working. Lastly the hotel was a little too quiet at times. I thought the bar would be open or at least some light food service available but it didn't appear any in-house services were open.

Comfortable and spacious rooms, quiet calming location and very friendly and helpful staff. They even upgraded us to a nicer room with a balcony on our last night there, which was really lovely. Riding bikes around the island and joining the artichoke festival nearby was also an unexpected highlight of our stay.

More vegetarian options for breakfast with local produce would be even nicer. Checkout at 10am felt a bit rushed :-)

The location is so peaceful and quiet, good wifi, great staff, the whole nine yards. Even the vaporetto trips to and from the island, despite being long (about 30 minutes minimum), are enjoyable. Getting to see Venice at night from this unique angle is amazing. If you listen closely, you can also hear the bells chiming in Venice.

There are quite a few mosquitos on the island so pack bug spray.

This island hotel is similar to a resort. An excellent getaway from the noise of the city. If you really need some quiet time and enjoy a peaceful holiday, get into this island. The host was really excellent and was the best among all our hosts during our Europe tour. As there was a transport strike on the day we arrived, she made sure and guided us well throughout, to ensure we reach conveniently from the train station to the island. The co-host Mr. Emanual was equally supportive and helped us with various transport options to travel further to Milan. Full marks to both of them!! Finally, the breakfast was equally great.

Beautiful property located in a picturesque, peaceful area with the most wonderful staff. The staff were truly wonderful. They were so kind and accommodating from the moment we arrived to when we left. Staff contacted us to arrange for when we would arrive at the port so we could be picked up and did this each time we’d leave from Sant Erasmo to travel to other Venetian islands and we were greeted again on return. The balcony was the perfect place to sit with a coffee in the morning or drawing pad and pencil in the evening. I felt like I was living the Italian villa dream on those warm evenings. Being in a more rural area and the little glimpses into the authentic daily lifestyles away from the tourism was truly a highlight of all my travels. Would love to return here and will be recommending this place to all my family and friends.

To begin with I was concerned that the travel would be a pain since Sant Erasmo is a water bus trip (with a few stops) to the main part of Venice. But with transport passes it was super easy. An air conditioner or extra fans would have been great in the weather we experienced as I found it very difficult to sleep with the muggy heat.
