The place of the hotel is absolutely perfect you get to experience both the tourist and local experience. If you cross the bridge on the left you’ll find a super marker a pharmacy cafes and restaurants with only locals there. If you cross the bridge on the right you’ll find all the tourist attraction spots which is only a few minutes away by foot. Amazing and caring staff! They’re not there physically all the time but you can contact them anytime on the phone and they respond within seconds and take great care of you and your needs. I will 100% come back.

Only thing that bothered us is that there is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage all the way up and down.

Top location, just a few metres from the Arsenale and a short walking distance from piazza San Marco. Via Garibaldi is around the corner, with lovely bars, cafés, typical osterie and supermarkets. The room was of good size, spotlessly clean, with a very comfy bed and pillows...so cosy! Minibar with water and soft drinks, essentials for breakfast... all for free... Bath towels were replaced daily. The room service staff was attentive and polite. Giampaolo (the main host) is courteous, always available for any questions regarding our stay and gave us plenty of recommendations about places to eat and have a nice aperitivo. He also gave us some lovely Venetian biscuits before our departure! I can't recommend Porta da mar enough. Will definitely come back in future for another lovely stay in the beautiful city of Venice!

With all my efforts, can't find a single fault!

Great location. Giampaolo is a very friendly host with valuable recommendations for you. Our room (no. 3) had a beautiful view of the sea. It was so nice, you could stay in the room all day long if you wanted to. The room cleaning service was outstanding and highly valued. In the fridge are some snacks and cold drinks and tea, which they refill daily . At our checkout, Giampaolo even gave us a bag of local cookies!! We felt very welcome .

If there is one thing to say, it was a fresh wet patch on the bathroom ceiling. However, judging by our impression of the place, it will soon be taken care of.

Porta da Mar is pure Venetian charm! A big lounge when you arrive, with gorgeous Murano chandeliers! The balcony has an amazing view, located a pleasant distance from the sights, instructions to get the keys are very clear, easy to access, and easy to find. The room was clean, there were refreshments and snacks in the minibar. The contents of the minibar were included in the room price. The room was cleaned daily and the towels were changed. There was a very comfortable bed, a perfect shower, spare blankets in the wardrobe, kettle, iron, safe, hangers etc… The heat worked properly, the TV, etc…, Gian Paolo was very polite and helpful, my mother and sister felt at home! I recommend it very much and hope to stay there again when coming back to Venice. È stato un soggiorno molto piacevole, Grazie mille!

Perfectly clean, beautifully appointed. The lady that works at the reception / owns the place was really welcoming and helpful, so was the house cleaning lady. We had the best stay in Venice here, really no downsides. The location is pretty good, if you park at Tronchetto you can easily come here with Vaporetto. It's walking distance to all major spots in Venice, but still in a quite zone.

Top location, far from the tourist crowds but still easily accessible from the city center. The canal view from our room was breathtaking! Room was spacious and clean. The host was very polite and welcoming, also, thank you for the Venice biscuits!

Best place so far I have been after visiting Venice for more than 20years. No steps from Vaporetto to apartment, original high ceiling villa in front of the laguna, spacious room with everything inside, no classic breakfast but I never eat in the morning, so if you need more than sweets and coffee, right next door sit outside and have your eggs in front of the water, slept like a baby, though it is central, it was quiet like heaven! And best house keeping, very kind!!

Giampaolo is a very friendly and helpful host. He is there in the mornings. The location can be reached by direct boat (blue line B) from the airport (just over 1 hour of sightseeing); you only have to cross 1 bridge. Spacious room and good size bathroom. Excellent location for the Biennale.

We had not realised that there was a basic breakfast in the fridge. Like any place in Venice it is never cheap.

perfect location, 5 min to san marco square. very big apartment with 2 rooms suitable for families. plenty of markets and restaurants for breakfast or lunch/dinner. very good comunication with owner

the floor was moving when walking around and wardrobe doors are moving also; but you get used to :). also, it should be better to have some carpets on or offer some slippers since the floor is cold.

As always we enjoyed our stay in Porta da mar. We like the high quality large room with its beautiful lamps and view towards San Giorgio and San Marco. We appreciate the fine bathroom, the quiet place in the middle of commotion, its neighbourhood with many places to eat and enjoy a drink, as well as the close stop for the Alilaguna line from and to the airport.
