Ca’Formenta Hotel was fabulous and exceeded our expectations in respect of location, facilities, decor, ambiance and staffing. It is perfectly situated, overlooking the lagoon and only 10 minutes walk to the busy and vibrant San Marco Piazza. Yet it provided a welcome retreat after a long day sightseeing, so welcoming, cosy and tranquil. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean with a panoramic view of the lagoon and the bathroom was bright, modern and clean with a superb power shower and very hot water. The staff were simply lovely, always friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a continental breakfast that included a wide choice of quality produce rather than just the standard croissant and confiture! The bar drinks were so reasonable, only 4€ for a generous glass of wine! Similarly the fridge bar comprised a range of beverages that were well below what one would pay for outside of the hotel. Ca’Formenta was recommended to us by family and we would recommend it highly to anyone reading this review thinking of trip to beautiful Venice. We will definitely return to this hotel when we stay in Venice again; real value for money!

Hard to find anything that needed improving!

Perfect prime location, professional lovely friendly staff and close by to the ferry, restaurants, supermarket and St Mark Square. I highly recommend this amazing hotel to everyone. My Mum and I really enjoyed everything about my stay at your hotel especially the beautiful breathtaking view from my room and breakfast. We came to Venice on our honeymoon and wanted a place that’s close enough to the action, but still quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep — and this hotel was exactly that. It’s just a bit outside the main tourist chaos, but still super close to everything. In the evening, you can enjoy a peaceful walk without crowds, and there’s a vaporetto stop (Aquabaretto) just 3 minutes away that takes you to St. Mark’s Square in about 5 minutes. The room was big, fresh, beautifully decorated, and the mattress was honestly amazing. We slept like babies! Breakfast was great too: tasty and filling. Even though we stayed in peak season (mid-July), the neighborhood felt calm and cozy. There’s a SPAR grocery store 5 minutes away, perfect for picking up fruit or snacks. One of our favorite parts was the private veranda just outside our room. It opened up to a quiet courtyard and had a few tables: perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or having a smoke if that’s your thing. It was shaded and peaceful, with a really chill vibe, we loved hanging out there in the evenings. And the bathtub in the room? A total treat after walking all over Venice. There are also 5 lovely restaurants just steps away, so you’ll never go hungry. We stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved it.

It would’ve been nice to have a few basic things in the room, like a knife, wine glasses, or some cutlery. We grabbed some wine one evening and ended up drinking from plastic cups or borrowing glasses from the bar. Not a big deal, but having those small extras in the room would’ve made it even better.

The Place is very well connected with Marco Polo Airport [direct water train] and with Treviso [water train station just 3 minutes walk from the Hotel]. Hotel is situated approx 10-15 minutes walk from the Main Center /Attractions. Hotel small but very clean, with lovely room in Venice style. Very clean and the Staff on perfect level - e-mail exchange before our arrival helped us a lot to arrange our stay in Venice without stress :). Hotel Staff - room service with Reception Desk care about Birthday surprise arranged during our stay [big thank you for that]. Breakfast with different kind of dishes [not only Italian style].

They were attentive, accommodating, and always ready with helpful recommendations for local restaurants, hidden gems, and the best routes to avoid the crowds. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, blending classic Venetian charm with comfort. My room was cozy and well-appointed, with thoughtful touches that made it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. Waking up to a delicious breakfast each morning, featuring fresh pastries and local delicacies, was the perfect way to start my day. Nothing negative to report

Loved the location and we were given a superior room overlooking the water. Lovely room. Walkable to San Marco square and proximity to the water bus Arsenale stop. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful with questions re travel to other spots.

Bottled water could have been provided at no cost. The airconditioning system was not activated or broken. We asked about it and did not get a proper answer as to the status. Had it been any warmer it would have been impossible to sleep comfortably especially coming from a cold climate like Canada.

We recently had an excellent stay at the Ca' Formenta Hotel. The location is unbeatable, especially for art enthusiasts looking to visit the Biennale, and it's also just a short walk from St. Mark's Square and other major attractions. Despite its central location, the hotel was surprisingly peaceful, providing a quiet retreat after a day of exploring. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of choices and ample portions to start the day right. Overall, a wonderful experience that exceeded our expectations.

We were visiting the biennale and this hotel had a perfect location for that. In additon, it is not very far away from the main tourist attractions, but sufficiently far away to avoid the mass crowds of tourists. It is also nice to see the sea when you come out from the hotel. The staff is professional and nice and the breakfast is not fancy but it gives you what you need.

There were no big issues but searching for some it can be mentioned that we had some ants in the room but this is almost to be expected. Another small issue is that the styles of the boiled eggs differed quite a lot at breakfast. Some eggs were soft while others were very hard. I guess different guests prefer different styles. An improvement could be to write a note informing the guests about how the eggs were cooked.
