The property is well located, just a short walk from Hiroshima Station. Each floor had one bathroom and two sinks, which was very convenient. On the ground floor, there are three showers (it might seem like a small number, but during our stay, they were always available). Everything was very clean and well maintained. Although the staff were not always present, they were very kind and helpful when we had an issue with the washing machine

To enter the building, you have to take off your shoes, which helps keep the place clean. However, it could be a bit inconvenient when several people were at the entrance at the same time, trying to take off or put on their shoes.

Biggest room in a 2 star hotel we have stayed. Beds were really good, wide and firm with good pillows. We didn't realized the shared bathroom meant the toilet was in the same floor of the bedroom but the shower was in the ground floor. We stayed 2 nights only. It is close to the train station and public transport. We were very early for check in and got our room ready earlier which allowed us to make the most of the traveling day. The hotel is behind an APA hotel where you can have breakfast or go to the convenience store on the APA ground floor fir food though there are many restaurants near and at the train station. One thing to improve/offer is coffee/tea caddy. Sound insulation. I would not call the tiny balcony a terrace.

-Staff was super nice! I forgot my powerbank and when they found it, they emailed me and held it for me until I got it. They also speak English! -Laundry machines are cheaper than most hotels, just don't put too many clothes in -we had a 2 twin bed room and it was large and clean -Womens bathroom was clean. Each shower had a changing room before the shower where you could change/store your clothes/dry your hair. There's locks an curtains for extra privacy. -lobby area has a microwave, water, and other amenities. While I was waiting for my laundry I read some manga. -used a pin for the door so you did not need to carry a key/card. Check out was super quick and simple.

-the floor I was on only had 1 bathroom -my door was super loud -theres only one elevator

I injured my knee during Japan travel. The hotel staff, Gina, knew both English and Japanese, helped me so much calling hospitals, talking to docs, organising transport, food , bought medicines etc from me as I couldn't move! I am so thankful for all she did for me! I couldn't have survived without her! I have to extend my stay for additional 2 nights in the hotel to be good enough to travel back to Osaka from Hiroshima and take my flight back to Australia. I am forever grateful for what she did for me. I hope the owners of Sumiya Spa and Hotel recognises her exceptional service she gave to me in my most difficult times! You're amazing, Gina!!

Good location, nice and clean hotel. A little hostel-like given the rooms do not have private bathrooms so the access to them is in the corridor. Showers were on different floor so had to travel using elevator for them. Area downstairs was really nice - had a looped video with music for relaxing atmosphere and lots of freely available things as well as water to make tea. Still quite enjoyable stay.

Despite the name - no SPA/onsen/bath facilities - only showers. Not a big issue as I looked up what was available but name seem to be a little misleading if you don't read.

The hotel is very well located when you travel with the Shinkansen. You can drop your luggage without having a long way through the city and can go on to explore the city without carring to much weight. Also the city center and the peace park is not far away and everything can be reached easily. The station is not far so also daytrips are easy. The room was quite large and the beds were comfortable. The rooms have no bathroom and showers but that was clear from the beginning. Ther is a common space for a sink and toilets on each floor. The showers are on the ground floor. The common space is great.

Maybe the volume of the advertisment video of the hotel at the front door could be reduced. In the room above it you can hear it the whole night.

The room was clean and comfortable, wi-fi was provided, and the staff, altho limited in English, tried their best to welcome me. There was no food, but tea was available on the ground floor. It's a bit of a hike to the train station. I'm fit so it's ok but less mobile folks should arrange rides. A very good set of local travel pamphlets were available.

It seems that you get what you pay for. There was no food and the only showers were on the ground floor, but it was well-placed near a 7-11 so my own food was easily obtainable (and they DID provide a refrigerator).

it has 7 point out of 10 so worried a bit but it was totally fine. we booked it just a day in advance. pre-check in & check in without the staff was quite ok. the room was bigger than average Japanese hotels.

noise from the hallway is quite loudly heard. we had the room without our own bathroom but it did not bother too much
