Excellent location in Shinjuku, situated next to a nice park with the hotel and views giving off Central Park vibes. The hotel also has a super cool New York vibe. As soon as you enter you are met with music and a bustling lobby full of atmosphere. There is a delicious bakery in the hotel as well as a cafe/restaurant. The rooms are perhaps a little bit of a disappointment having seen what you get when you enter the lobby, as you expect something a little more refined or exclusive from the hotels interior on the ground floor. However the rooms are well equipped with space utilised well. The hotel seems to be an enclave for Australians and a few Americans and complete with the ground floor vibe, it gives off a very non-Japanese feel. You could be in New York or Melbourne or London or LA. If you want to feel like you’re not so far from home then this is perfect. But if you want to feel like you’re in Japan, then this place is not for you. That is not to say we don’t like the hotel - I think it’s fantastic in many ways and would definitely recommend it, it just depends what type of trip you want.

The best thing about this property is the bakery attached to it. If you have been eating a lot of Japanese meals and are craving western bread and baked goods, this hotel is ideal for a change of pace. The bakery’s goods are served at the hotel’s buffet breakfast along with other western-style breakfast items like eggs, bacon, cheese, prosciutto, waffles, and hashbrowns. The bakery items are also available for purchase. The items include croissants, baguettes, bagels, grilled cheese, focaccia, donuts, raisin bread, quiche, muffins, and pretzels. The bakery also makes Japanese shokupan bread and egg salad sandwich!

The location is within a 15-20 minute walk to the Shinjuku station. While seemingly not very far, the walk can feel far on hot days when you are already tired from a long day of sightseeing. However, the walk through the nearby park is lovely.

The hotel is well situated, being about a10 minute walk from downtown Shinjuku. The rooms are on the small side, typical of japanese hotels, but very clean and comfortable. The staff were super accomodating and friendly. It was really quiet at night and the double glazing kept out all traffic noise. All toiletries were provided and fresh towels provided daily if needed. There is a laundry and an ice machine in the hotel which is very useful for travellers. The hotel is located across the road from Shinjuku park which is lovely to walk around and there is a Starbucks located within the park, a few minutes from the hotel. The hotel has a bakery (More Than) attached to the lobby and the food was excellent. This is a huge plus for staying at the Knot. It only cost about AUD $8 to get a taxi to the hotel from the Shinjuku station. Highly recommend.

We didn't like the pillows! Too hard and only one each. The bed was faced away from the television and there was no english news channels. The room felt hot at times overnight.

Great room, perfect for our 4 day stay. Amazing breakfast, everything I like and gorgeous fresh fruit selection. Easy to walk everywhere and lots of restaurants very close by. The bar is great for a drink and something small to eat in the evening.

No 2nd bedside table but we improvised and put a chair on my side of the bed.

For our second time staying in Tokyo, we opted for somewhere more central. We expected certain trade-offs for this, but paying a little extra for The Knot gave us a high-quality hotel experience without the eye-watering central Tokyo prices. The staff were always doing their best in what is undoubtedly a challenging time for Japanese tourism. The Grill is remarkably good, and the bar serves an excellent expresso.

Other reviews have covered things like the rooms not being the quietest, but it wasn't a problem. Our neighbour was a loud snorer, but this was barely noticeable, and certainly didn't keep us awake. 2500 yen is a lot for a buffet breakfast, but the quality of the food is high, and it is all-you-can eat. And we would suggest Tochomae station instead of Shinjuku or Nishi-Shinjuku, just be sure to seek out the elevators if you have heavy luggage.

Beautiful boutique like common areas with a wonderful bakery ‘More Than’ attached to it that has a wide offering. Opposite a rather nice park and located in an area which is free of the clutter and bustle of Tokyo. Extremely close to pick up spot for day tours.

The room size is a bit cramped for 2 if there’s a lot of luggage to maneuver around. Though located extremely close to public transportation, bars and nightlife is a fair bit away. This part of town is filled more with commercial establishments

The location was excellent, walking distance to three train stations including Shinjuku. The hotel is on the edge of a beautiful park, which gives you some respite from the throngs of people getting in and out of Shinjuku station. The hotel is amazing, really lovely staff, well-appointed and great decor and artwork on entry. The rooms are a good size, as we had twin beds, a luggage stand each for our suitcases, all the regular amenities, including a little fridge and kettle, ground coffee, and a great view of the park. The Morethan bakery is also at the lobby level of the hotel, and was where we bought our breakfast from, picking different pastries or sandwiches each day...so delicious and well-priced! There is a DJ playing music in the lobby on Friday nights, so has a great vibe about it. The restaurant is excellent and does buffets on the weekend, which are very good. The neighbourhood you are in is quiet, safe and has many choices for great food, plus many convenience stores as well. You just need to step out and explore it. I would highly recommend The Knot Tokyo at Shinjuku.

The beds were quite hard and pillows were flat.

We had a wonderful stay at The Knot Tokyo Shinjuku. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially when we arrived late at night in the cold, offering a warm welcome. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from Shinjuku Station and conveniently accessible via Tochomae Station subway, with an entrance on the opposite side of Shinjuku Chuo Park (open during most hours of the day). Our room on the second floor was well-equipped, with easy access to vending machines, washing machines, dryers, and a microwave. The hotel provided useful amenities such as hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, and mini toothpaste. The bathroom was a bit outdated, featuring a shower curtain, but it was functional. One highlight was the service from the front desk as they kindly stored our large suitcase (as we had a return booking with the hotel) for nine days while we traveled to Kyoto and Osaka, which was a great help. Overall, The Knot Tokyo Shinjuku offers a comfortable and practical stay with excellent customer service.

The mattresses were good, especially after finding many a little underwhelming in Japan. The location isn't right on a metro station but still not too far. Breakfast is fantastic. The variety is superb with everything from a full English to fruit salads, to viennoiserie, freshly sliced hams and cheeses, cereals, to green salads with tasty dressings. Shower pressure was great as were the toileteries offered. The lobby is not your usual stale reception area but a buzzing open space with a community bakery in full swing, a bar, a shared workspace and decks set up for music events. Fear not, the rooms were very silent and at no point was the area noisy. The decor was relaxed yet classy with some really cool touches.

We had to show a breakfast ticket (per day) at the entrance instead of just quoting our room number which we often lost or the other person had it who stayed in the room. It looks like a receipt so it proved a bit annoying remembering that every morning while still groggy. Laundry is done personally in a laundromat in the reception area and not a hotel service.

This was our second time staying at The Knot Tokyo Shinjuku during our trip to Japan, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. This visit, we were given a room on the 12th floor, which featured a wide window that provided lots of natural light and offered a nice city view. The room layout differed slightly from our previous one on the 2nd floor and felt a little more spacious. The staff were just as friendly and helpful as our first stay and offered to keep our suitcases until it was time to head to the airport. Even with four suitcases, we had no trouble making our way to Shinjuku Station via the nearby Tochomae Subway entrance, located just across Shinjuku Chuo Park.
