Spacious apartment made a wet easter weekend comfortable. The pool was used lots!! Breakfast each day was really substantial and varied. We recommend the buffet over the menu. The staff were always willing and helpful. Despite a busy weekend for them nothing was a problem. Overall our stay was brilliant and everything we hoped for. Thanks to the team who worked over this long weekend so we could have a break.

One small thing was the apartment was for 6 and the complimentary coffee/tea, cutlery and plates were short on this number. No problem when we asked however it would make sense to check before/after guests.

It was pretty fancy. The kids loved the pool and I loved the spa, the balcony space and view was amazing, the space of the unit was the biggest I’ve ever come across. The bed was so comfortable I couldn’t get out

To be honest, the restaurant. The breakfast was your usual standard free for all and cold. We didn’t even bother the next day. I chose to give up my table at dinner and took room service (having little kids and gave a pre tip) It turned up cold, with no respect. I was absolutely gutted about the tip. But that’s not the way I was treated by the hotel, it got 9/10 from the kids

Spacious room well furnished comfortable and clean ours was a ground floor room with a small outdoor area. The room was quiet with minimal disturbances from other guests Very nice buffet breakfast The staff were very friendly and accommodating The hotel has an excellent pool area

If was being picky it would have been nice to have some more storage for clothes say a chest of drawers as we were staying for three nights and there was was rather limited space in the wardrobe

The old part of the hotel is beautiful and we were there for dinner, drinks and breakfast. The bedrooms are in a new (purpose built) block to the side. We were in a ground floor room (handy for the pool). It was a good size, and we had a patio outside (rooms above have balconies) and it was all lovely, a very good standard and very clean. The pool, jacussi and gym were lovely and opening hours were good. Restaurant served food for us at about 9pm, (local restaurants don't stay open late in winter). There was good parking underneath the hotel, and the staff were v helpful.

Parking cost extra, breakfast was not included in our room rate and was pricey enough (though good). There was no water provided in the room. The service was great and the room standard was very high, but in general, it felt like an pricey enough stay as we had to pay for any added extras.

The room, gym and swimming pool were excellent. We appreciated the help we received during a busy check-in time. A staff member took the bags to our room whilst one of us parked the car.

The bar area could have had a better sitting area and the dining area was not as warm and welcoming as the guest rooms and other facilities. The drop-off area during busy check-in time didn't work well. While one of us quickly ran into reception to ask where to park an angry customer abused us for parking behind them. As another car had arrived behind us we had to take the abuse and the customer almost backing into us. It would have been better if we could have dropped off bags and been guided to a safer parking area. This all happened before we even started the check in process.

The staff at Hilton Lake Taupo were absolutely amazing, especially the lovely Filipinas at the front desk. They really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was super comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were nice and roomy, and we had our own balconies with stunning views of either the lake or the hotel pool.

Even though the front desk staff were top-notch, we had some problems with the TV in our room. The casting feature just wouldn't work properly, which was a bit of a bummer. But it seemed like this was more of an issue with the hotel's TV provider rather than the hardworking reception staff.

It was a pleasure staying at the hotel, everything was perfectly managed. The staff were incredibly friendly, always willing to assist with any needs, love the quick checking in and out. The hotel's location was superb, offering convenient access to nearby attractions. Breakfast was a delightful experience, providing a great start to each day. Finally, the beautiful buildings and stunning view added to the overall enjoyment of the stay.

When at reception and it was our turn to be seen, another quest butt in to talk to the receptionist and she let him....twice. she should have asked/told him to wait his turn. When he finally left,there was no apology from her at all. I understand she was in a predicament and training in this area may help as we were not happy at all with the situation. From my understanding the guy didn't understand the parking situation, maybe staff should have more training in explaining that all so

Breakfast was delicious. Room was spacious and very well equiped.

Our dinner booking was disappointing. We were told dining room was busy at 7, so confirmed for 7.30pm. Met friends for a drink at 6.30pm. Drinks took an age to arrive. 7.30pm came and went. Apparently our reserved table was not being kept for us and people from the tourist bus weren't waiting to be seated and there was no table for us until about 8 :( It looked as if the dining room was run off it's feet. Food was delicious when it arrived.

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We were able to check in early and they also made it possible for us to join the restaurant for dinner even though we didn't book on a busy long weekend (rookie mistake). I also rate the pool area and gym facilities (which can be pretty poor at hotels).

Something that stood out is that some of the carpets are really worn in the common areas (such as the lobby/hallway) and needs replacing. It's one of the first things you see, it's off-putting and not a reflection of the rest of the hotel. Given the suites have a large balcony and a dining area, I was also disappointed that you could not have breakfast served in your room.
