The palace itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful historic interiors that make you feel like royalty. The breakfast was very good, offering a wide range of options. The garden and pool area are well maintained and create a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is also convenient for sightseeing in Lisbon.

While the palace building is breathtaking, most rooms are located in modern extensions that don’t match the charm of the main building. The room was fine but not spotless, and some mold in the bathroom was disappointing for a five-star hotel. The service, although friendly, was inconsistent - for example, mistakes during breakfast and unanswered reception calls. Overall, the hotel relies heavily on the palace’s appearance but doesn’t fully deliver five-star service.

A hotel to relax and enjoy the facilities before head off home . Set on the hills of Alcantara with brilliant views of Rio Tejo . Breakfast fantastic , great selection . Ricardo makes good omelettes well cooked. Just be patient with him but worth the wait . Staff amazing .Pestana brand is best hotel for hospitality in Europe and internationally on pa with Taj hotel group . Amazing staff that helped us feel welcome : David Barbosa , Rita , Santos , Luke Cain. . I used the swimming pool , good gym facilities and Sauna . Valet car service good little pricey. I would come back and stay again

Although the hotel has historic setting the bedrooms too . It feels nice but the carpets needs a good wash and if you sensitive to dust would will feel it . My advice is to replace carpet in room with wooden flooring . Easier to clean the dust . You will feel this after a few days and cough a lot .

The building was gorgeous. Especially, the outdoor swimming pool, garden, breakfast, and a lounge were wonderful.

Housekeeping was somewhat disappointing. The room was not supplied with the expected items such as cups, water, and wine glasses, and the minibar was not checked. Additionally, the policy of checking in during the afternoon caused some inconvenience. Even though I did not answer the phone, staff opened the door without permission while I was about to take a shower, which was quite unsettling. In addition, some housekeepers were not so kind.

It’s a stunning property. Beautiful inside and outside. Loved the paintings on the walls, the old carriage, the breakfast was amazing. The rooms were cozy and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. Most of the personnel were friendly and apparently had been on a customer management course so well done.

The breakfast cue was chaotic and disorganised. They could ask people the day before to confirm times so they can allocate people to the respective busy times. When we finally got a table after 20 min we saw many empty tables and quite a few people walking around so it was a question of organisation. Outside they were not able to accommodate families over 4 people, why not try?

Absolutely gorgeous hotel dripping with history, just on the outskirts of Lisbon. Beautiful pool area and grounds. Easy access to the centre via Uber or Taxi, which was only around 5 or 6 euros. First class treatment at reception and upon arrival. Delicious breakfast buffet on the grounds.

Drinks were on the expensive side for Lisbon, but what I really didn't like was the fact they then also added a service charge without asking each time of 10-12% (I can't remember exactly the percentage). Coming from Spain we knew this is not the norm, and felt like they were taking advantage of their guests by sneaking it in there. Pretty sure diners at the Lake House would not notice and then add a tip on top as well. It just detracted slightly from the otherwise perfect experience, an unnecessary step as their patrons would most likely tip generously anyway.

The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The array of foods and pastries cater to various guests preferences. The hours for the buffet were much longer than normal. The setting of the hotel is impressive. The gardens are lovely and offer the guests numerous places to just sit and read or talk or lounge.

The gym is limited. However, it covers the basics for those who want to stick to their routine. The downside is that the floor-to-ceiling glass windows without any shades results in the room becoming exceedingly hot! There is a wonderful outdoor pool. Please note that although the hotel is in a beautiful park setting, it is not located in the centre of Lisbon.

The Pestana Palace and the grounds were exceptional! The entry and lobby were very impressive with stained glass and two curved staircases leading up to the sitting rooms, the dining rooms and the piano bar. These rooms were lovely with tall windows and decorated ceilings! Eating breakfast each morning in the lovely dining room was a highlight! The food and drinks at the buffet were very impressive and delicious! The extensive gardens and the pool area were very nice to relax at each evening. The beds were very comfortable and it was a great place to adjust to the new time zone and start our 2 week tour of Portugal.

Only one issue. They are very stingy about water bottles. When the stay is super expensive and property calls itself monument or palace, they are not expected to discuss number of water bottles given and then charge 6 Euros for each 0.5 litre water n bottle. In general, we have seen that no five star facility does that. This approach was completely not understood, especially when the daily room rate is so high and we were staying in suit , 3 of us and they expected us to manage a day with 0.5 litre bottle each. Too bad.

Room was too cold when we called room service some one came and checked AC but it was not helpful we were freezing all 5 night of our stay until morning i was using hair dryer to make my kids warm in the room!! it is very disappointing when you pay around 2500 dhs per night and you can't sleep because hotel doesn't have heaters . And also there is not enough light in the room

Exceptional property. Top of the hill location. Far away enough from the city for quietness. Beautiful breakfast area. Proper palace feeling. The swimming pool is warm. Staff are kind and considerate. When booking, do take garden rooms. I had no noise. Some colleagues did have some noise and had streetfacing rooms.

Exceptional property. Feels like staying in a proper fairytale palace. Mind you, the renovation dates back from the ‘90s so some of the paint is chipped, some stuff looks a bit dated. Hardly a negative.
