We absolutely loved our stay at Wine & Books. The hotel itself is gorgeous—small, intimate, and beautifully designed, with a calming atmosphere that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. What truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A huge thank you to Bruno, Fernando, and the kind night receptionist (whose name we sadly forgot to note down!) at reception—your kindness and professionalism really stood out. At the restaurant, we were always met with warmth and good humor—thank you Duarte and Miguel for the outstanding service, the lovely conversations and laughs (waffle time!!!)! A special shoutout to Silvia, who crafted a custom mocktail just for me—it was absolutely divine and truly appreciated. Our room was beautiful, kept spotless throughout our stay, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Every detail was taken care of, and it showed. We can’t wait to come back—this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had. Sometimes hotels make you feel like you are a "customer", but here we truly felt like guests. I very rarely write hotel reviews but just had to do so after our stay because it was really exceptionally good. Everything about Wine & Books is truly 5*: The very elegant and luxurious design of the hotel itself and the rooms in particular, absolutely amazing personnel - extremely friendly and always helpful, great breakfast (with à la carte menu) and dinner. Literally everything about our stay was perfect! Also, small things that make all the difference: Unlimited complimentary water (after a day with +35 was much appreciated), biscuits, complimentary glass of wine, great 24/7 gym, special dishes on request (which were not on the menu, but the chef still did everything to accommodate our request), etc. I want to really thank and highlight the professionalism and friendliness of the whole hotel team - never seen anything like that and I’ve been to many 5* hotels! Would really recommend this hotel!

Note that the hotel is located in Belem, e.g. it is not the city center but (1) it’s only 15min with Uber (€10) away and (2) it’s very clean, quiet and cultural neighborhood (the Jeronimos monastery is only 5min walk away!). For us a location not in the hectic, hot, narrow and filled with tourists city center was a big advantage - there was zero noise and every evening we went for a 10min walk to get pasteis de Belem from the very famous cafe next to the monastery (it’s open until 10pm but you’ll have to wait at least 30min in line during the day to get in, while there are no crowds in the evening).

The rooms were a bit small but nicely appointed. The restaurant was very good. We had breakfast and dinner there.

No where to put luggage in the room.

This gem of a boutique hotel is a 5 min walk from the heart of Belém in Lisbon - while a short ride from neighborhoods like Rossio and Chiado, the amenities are superb! The staff is 100% the best with Solange and Rafa at the restaurant being super helpful and attentive and also the folks in the front desk like Diogo, Mariana and Adalberto always at the forefront to meet our needs! The breakfast is delightful with many options and the overall quality is simply to die for!

I would say this is more of a couple’s hotel or single traveler facility than for families - the shower is in the middle of the room with no privacy and this can definitely be a detriment if traveling with friends or family members and children - it is also a drive from some of the neighborhoods where all of the nightlife is so you might want to think about it if you meet the criteria above - for us, we attended a wedding at the botanical gardens (a 5 min walk) and thus it made sense to stay here but had a really good experience

The service and cleanliness were amazing. Sleep confort was outstanding with perfect temperature room, no noise and total darkness. Bed and pillows were also very confortable and the linens really soft. Overall the staff was top notch!

The location is great if you want to visit Belem but further from the rest of city centre. Average to small rooms size. The solid shampoo and bath gel were a little strange. Being a small boutique hotel there are some facilities missing like a pool but it is very understandable. Gym and saunas were great though. Definitely a pleasant and confortable stay!

The location of this hotel is perfect! It is tucked in a quiet suburban area only three blocks from the action. From the moment I arrived the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful with my location specific questions. For a small boutique hotel, I don’t think I saw the same staff member more than twice yet everyone was very helpful and kind. Overall, excellent experience and will be telling my friends to stay when they visit Lisbon.

My only issue was with the rain showers, which are not blowout friendly. So ladies be aware! The shower is also basically a glass box in the room so I wouldn’t recommend if you are more conservative and staying with friends. But definitely couple friendly 😉

Exceptional services, gym and spa on site, excellent breakfast, comfortable room and bed. Great location close to Belem tower and Jerónimos monastery. Everything was perfect.

Loved everything

It was a fabulous stay at Wine&Books Lisboa hotel. I was travelling alone and had a truely relaxing time there. All staffs were extremely kind and the Spa & breakfast were very comforting. It was a little far out from the central area, but as I have already been in central, it wasn’t a problem at all. And I very much enjoyed the peace & quiet! The hotel is near the ‘Pastéis de Belém’, ‘Mosteiro dos Jerónimos’ (walking distance) and if you take a bus or tram, you can easily go to ‘Torre de Belém’ as well. (You can even walk there after a meal!) I would definately come back here with my family & friends next time! :)

Very kind people. - The hotel itself was very clean, rooms were clean and cozy and had everything you'd need. - I liked the electric curtains and the way the room is illuminated. - The rainfall shower was purely amazing, loved it. - Everyday you'd get your room made-up and a fresh bottle of water. - Tested room-service in the first night I arrived, it was okay. - The cooked dishes (at the restaurant) were very tasty, they do have good chefs. - The kitchen staff was also very nice, especially the team serving you breakfast in the morning. - The hotel itself has a nice style, in my view - a combo between vintage and 'new-age smart building'.

- The mattress was a bit too soft for my taste, it was the kind that you'd sink in. - Something that they can't change (but they could at least adjust the price for it), is the room-size. Very crowded and packed room. Obviously you shouldn't need more than a bed and a shower, but a bit more space would have been good. - The breakfast itself wasn't the richest as you'd find in 5-stars hotels, but still good enough. - To use the parking, you do need very good driving skills, as the access to the underground parking levels is done via an elevator, and the access ramp leaves barely any space for any maneuvering (no more than 8-10cm on each side for a BMW 3-Series with the mirrors folded).
