Lovely ‘new’ (3 years) hotel in St Julian’s on the Balluta bay side Large clean rooms we were a family of 4 The staff were excellent especially the cleaning staff and the staff at breakfast (Sandhu) who remembered our names and what the kids ordered for breakfast and brought it over. We made use of the 3 pools and spa and many of the restaurants which were all excellent

Facilities, friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff, engaged manager (Alex), excellent breakfast, lovely pool, great sea-side view, parking space. And close to several spots for a quick dip in the sea.

For those with the nice sea view rooms, prepare for some noise from the coastal road at the foot of the hotel (especially on Friday and Saturday evenings) as it is located in a very lively part of town (as in loud stag parties and motor cycle riders showing off how much noise their motor cycles can make), but this is obviously beyond the control of the hotel. With windows closed it was manageable.

The rooms were amazing, with bright airy spaces and great amenities like a spa and gym. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I couldn’t find a single fault. I had a birthday celebration there, and they left a cake in my room, decorated the bed, and even wrote a personal message. The staff were always helpful, no matter what I needed. The massage in the spa was incredible, and the overall experience was extremely luxurious. It’s in a great location right in the heart of st. Julian’s with easy access to towns and cities nearby too!

The WiFi wasn’t as strong as I would have hoped but as I had data it wasn’t much of an issue for me

The location is great, the staff is super warm and friendly (special shout out to our cleaning staff Bikash who’s been incredibly friendly and supportive, making sure our room was super clean and everything stocked up, from water and towels to chocolates), the sea view was amazing (we loved just sitting on the balcony enjoying sunrises, sunsets and afternoon breaks), and the sauna was great too

I would have hoped for a few more healthier and vegan breakfast options. And that the steam room would have been a bit steamier, and the cold plunge a little cooler.

We were advised not to drink the tap water by the reception staff. We were provided with a couple of complimentary small bottles of water each day but this was not nearly enough. I really think that there should be a centrally located drinking water fountain to fill up reusable water bottles. Plastic water bottles contribute a very large amount to environmental waste. Would have been nice to have some snacks provided in our room

Breakfast restaurant is well spaced out on a floor below reception via a lift/stairs. Lots of choices as you'd expect from Marriott, mediterranean fare with cooked options too. The upper pool sun beds are taken really quickly, the main pool was virtually empty during our stay, prior to UK school holidays. A pleasant terrace to sip an evening cocktail before heading out and about for dinner. We were surprised at how busy the area is once the sun goes down; our experience was to book a table in the places we ate as we had seen a few couples and small groups turned away even though there appeared to be vacancies.

Although booked a sea-view room the sea view was very partial due to the angle of the hotel. Our room looked onto the very edge of the end of the beach with the majority of the vista filled by the nearest church. Not a horrendous outcome but tarnished our expectations; no other rooms were available at the time.

Mariott Malta is in a great location. Easy to walk everywhere and we had a beautiful view from the 9th floor. The staff was helpful, kind and cheerful/smiling. We didn’t eat that much at the hotel, but the things we ordered were fine. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. The room was kept nice and clean. In our opinion it’s GREAT value for money as the rooms aren’t THAT expensive, at least off-season.

The hotel is a bit dated for sure, air conditioning could be newer/refreshed. Amenities are alright but nothing extraordinary. We were thinking wether to give an 8 or a 9, but the value for money was truly great so we decided to stick with 9.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Marriott Malta. The service was impeccable, everything was spotlessly clean, and the amenities were top-notch. The room had a stunning view and a small but cozy balcony – perfect for a morning coffee. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the interior design throughout the hotel was both elegant and inviting. A truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

One thing that surprised me was the absence of a minibar in the room, which I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Additionally, we were asked to pay a €200 deposit upon check-in, which was refunded after check-out. While everything went smoothly, we’ve stayed at other Marriott hotels before without such a requirement. Overall, a great stay, but worth noting these details for future guests.

Property was amazing. Staff were super and amenities were great. The spa was really welcoming and had everything you need from a spa. Roof top pool was nice however their pool bar is overpriced so we just brought in our own supplies.

We did not eat there due to the prices and all the restaurants around are almost 60/70% cheaper and the food from all of them is top notch as well as the views so worth checking out Siliema. Also there was zero entertainment in the hotel at night which was disappointing and basically the bar area was like a ghost town, however it might have been early in the season as we went at the start of April 2025.

Excellent hotel, the staff are all lovely, especially Sunja the breakfast Manager and also the man who made the omelettes! The hotel is in a great location. The facilities were really good, lovely bar and pool areas, and very clean - immaculate in fact. The gym looked very well equipped although we didn't use it, just went to look. Extensive choice for breakfast - the omelette station is a must!

Noisy road works/building works/church bells ringing early morning which woke us up! No plug socket near a mirror to do your hair and the lighting wasn't bright enough.
