The location of the property is perfect if you want to explore St Julians area. The house itself is authentic and gives that vibe. It has everything you need for a short stay and the hostess was helpful.

Bed wasn’t comfortable for our liking, it wasn’t the worst, but better bed would have been a big plus. I didn’t like that there is a extra charge for late check in which did not make any sense to me as it is self check in anyway. We made it on time, but really I could not make sense of why that charge would be applied if we arrived any time later.

Well, what can I say. Our 5 night stay in June at The Stonehouse met all of our expectations, and more. In a world of high rise hotels with their sleek lines of concrete and glass, this place offered something more in keeping with the tradition of Malta. With its stone walls and steps, along with Maltese tiles and furniture, all located a 1 minute walk from the harbour of Spinola Bay. We were greeted with a text on our way from the airport confirming we were in the penthouse which was great as this was an upgrade. Two flights of stairs and then a spiral staircase was a little daunting, but not an issue when you see the room. I'd advise anyone to go on the owners website for better pictures of the rooms, as Booking.com doesn't have the penthouse listed, and descriptions of all the other rooms are better. Cathy, the owner couldn't of been more helpful with her guide of things to do and places to avoid. If you're looking for something on a more personal level in an ideal location to explore the island, you'd struggle to beat The Stonehouse. But do plan ahead as availability could be you're main problem. If we were to visit Malta again, this would be the first place I would look to stay.

Absolutely nothing.

I was on vacation for 3 nights at The Stonehouse together with a friend. I can say with my hand on my heart that everything was superlative, from the host who welcomed us from the beginning of the stay, Mrs. Cathy, an extraordinary woman with a vast culture and super involved in everything that is a customer, she treats you like her family, you feel like you are at home, right down to the room and its facilities (I stayed in the Jade room which was super spacious) The hotel looks like an oasis of peace where you have absolutely everything you need. I can say that the breakfast was very varied and everything was fresh. You have coffee, water and tea machines + cakes on absolutely all floors of the hotel, even quality ones. Ms. Cathy personally takes care of boat trips around almost the entire island, or if you don't want that, she can design a whole plan for you with what to do during your stay. On departure, the check-out was at 11:00 a.m. but the plane was at 8:45 p.m. and we were able to leave all our luggage safely at the hotel until we left for the airport, and we were even able to stay for a cigarette or a coffee. I very rarely give a 10 to an accommodation, but here it didn't feel like accommodation, but simply "Home". Thank you for the experience and I will definitely come back as soon as possible!

Our stay in Malta was fantastic, thanks to our amazing host Cathy! She’s incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and went out of her way to help us plan our trip, offering tips and pointing out hidden gems we wouldn't have found ourselves. The house is gorgeous and authentic, with a great variety of breakfast options to start the day, plus coffee on every floor, which was much appreciated. Cathy’s level of engagement with her guests is truly rare. It's not often that you find someone so genuinely dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. Her tips on local restaurants and attractions were spot-on, making our trip even more enjoyable. If you’re coming with a car, parking is easy to find. We highly recommend staying here for an unforgettable Malta experience!

Our stay in this beautiful townhouse was fantastic. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful details, everything made us feel at home. The stylish, cosy interior of the house blended character with comfort, and the delicious breakfast with homemade delights was a perfect start to the day. Ideally located for exploring Malta, the townhouse is close to stunning coastal views, cultural sites, and great dining spots. Cathy, our enthusiastic hostess, went above and beyond, providing fantastic tips for discovering the island and the best local restaurants. A truly welcoming and authentic experience.

Uncomfortable steps to the top floor. Breakfast could be more variety and vegetarian friendly with more fresh fruit and better bread and jam varieties.

Stunning property, really authentic, beautifully furnished, if it's a real taste of Malta you are looking for you can't beat this property. Cathy is really helpful and knowledgeable and very professional and really helps you to make the most of your stay. All the little touches are delightful, from drinks available on each floor, including biscuits. Location is wonderful and very accessible but as set a little bit back from Spinola Bay you don't get any of the noise.

The property is gorgeous, nicely furnished and very well curated. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located in a quiet area of the old town, easy to access and to walk from from to reach other areas of interest of St Julian as well as to drive from to go visit La Valletta.

My only recommendation would be to turn the A/C on in the rooms a few hours before the guests arrival and eventually to install it also in the common areas since the hot is exhausting in the summertime and the fans are not enough to make the areas cool.

It’s such a lovely place! Beautifully decorated, very large comfortable rooms, good located AC, nice bathroom, rich and natural breakfast and on top of everything an amazing owner! Cathy is such an amazing person she gave us the best advices and we made lovely conversations with her. We loved everything about this hotel If we visit Malta once more, The Stonehouse will be definitely our choice! ❤️

Absolutely nothing

Was super clean and looked amazing. Breakfast consisted of a variety of fruits pastries and cereals that were perfect to fuel the start of your day. The location was perfect as really good bars and restaurants were only a 5 minute walk away. The owner was super friendly and easy to chat too and gave great advice so we would have the best holiday. I would highly recommend this property to everyone
