We loved the location and how clean everything was. Also the standard room is very spacious and have nice bathroom. Breakfast was really good and it varied a lot, every day we received something different. The stuff was so nice and friendly, every time we had a problem they tried their best to solve it. Especially Hemant helped us a lot in the last morning preparing early breakfast for us and give it to us at the checkout. Everything was amazing and I would recommend this hotel to everyone, especially young people.

I liked everything about the property, the only problem was missing the balcony for the standard room and maybe a bit of sound from the parties in the city since it’s a party area.

Since I wanted to be independent to travel, I did not book any breakfast. Expecially at St Julians there are so many occasions to take a little snack. In the Evening, I went to Gululu Restaurant to take a traditional maltese Spaghetti Rabbit Cuisine. But my personal favourite in this journey was Mr. Hemaht Kumar in his function as a concierce of Onyx Hotel. He simply made everything possible. When I entered from a long travel after 3 different flights he immediately took responsability and gave me a Penthouse Suite with a view all over the city. He still asked if there was anything to to. I answered no. It was just perfect.

For people who might want to avoid areas with a lot of noise it should be mentioned that behind the Hotel there is a crowded area with young people. But, to be honest, I did not recognize this in the first five nights. You enjoy the whole area with immediate access to the sea. And then, you sleep very well.

Nice view of the sea from the room. Amazing staff - happy and always greeting us. Great location, in a safe distance from the area with clubs, and close to bus stops. Very good breakfast.

The staff, all of them! The best people I've ever met on a vacation. Every single one of them was very friendly, polite, enjoyed communicating with these people. We had to leave our room at 11:00 am and they've allowed us to use their facilites, gave us towels, asked us to freely use the showers etc. BEST staff ever! As soon as we arrived, the room was already cooled to a decent temperature, that's a big plus. Breakfast was awesome.

I think the rooftop pool was great but I was a little bit sceptical about its hygiene. That's all I could say in terms of what I didn't like. Everything else, 10/10.

Location of the hotel is great but bear in mind its in the busy part of town! Room size was brilliant. Very convenient to get to food places, Mercury Square, buses etc. Staff of the hotel are very nice and friendly. Breakfast options are very good and slightly varied each day.

Lift is painfully slow. Takes ages to arrive if it does. Every night some rowdy guests would arrive early morning and bang doors(very loud and perhaps under the influence). If you are a light sleeper than can be very disturbing. AC temperature could not go below 20c and every morning automatically turned itself off. Pool was a disappointment, its 1/3rd of the size that it appears in pics. You can sit and chill but cant swim. Breakfast room has no windows and no fresh air and gets very crowded. Couldn't sit there for long. Would have preferred an option to eat on rooftop or even ground floor.

The hotel is perfect. Great location, clean, modern looking. Fast WiFi, hair drier and iron. TVs with Netflix. Beds are big and comfortable. You can ask for beach towels at the hotel. There is a paid private parking in the hotel. Also there are a couple of public parkings nearby. Keep in mind that some of the rooms do not have natural light, they have small windows towards the hotel hallway, which is not mentioned in Booking. We were in such a room but asked and our room was changed. Staff is also great and helpful!

If booking - ask for a room with natural light.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment as two couples, and it was perfect for our five-day stay. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and featured a minimalist, simple design. Having two bathrooms was very convenient. Breakfast was just what we needed to start the day—light but satisfying, with some nice pastries. The location was great, close to the sea and with easy access to many bus stations. The staff was really professional and nice, especially at the reception.

There were a few minor downsides: one of the bedrooms didn’t have natural light, both shower cabins had slight leaks, and the breakfast area was a bit small, so it could get crowded. Also, the shared living area felt a bit like an office space at times—some warmer touches in the design could make it cozier. Despite these small issues, our overall impression was very positive and we had a nice stay.

I went there for a meeting at Hilton, which is like 4 minutes walk fro the Hotel. so that was great. There are so many food options within 100 meters of this hotel which is amazing. A bus top is also within 2 minutes, so one could take a bus to see Valletta. The staff was super friendly, and tried to accommodate all my requests. The happening night life district of St Pauls Bay is also very close, though I didnt get much time to enjoy that because of my schedule.

My room was for people needing assistance ... but i guess this was a glitch made while booking, and it was not a big deal.

The hotel is brand new, all the employees are wonderful, always willing to help and provide information. The breakfast is very good, diversified. The room is very large, equipped with a very large TV, a kettle, and every day it is replenished with instant coffee and tea bags. The view from the roof is amazing and even if it's not yet time (February) for a swim in the pool, it gives you a feeling of summer vacation. I also really liked the involvement, the interest shown by those from the hotel management to offer and take an interest in the stay spent by tourists in the location. I'm sorry I can't mention a specific person who made our stay exceptional, because they were all wonderful!!!

We had an amazing stay at Onyx Malta—it exceeded our expectations! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, shining with cleanliness. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade from a standard room to a luxury studio, which made our stay even more special. The location is also fantastic, close to everything you might need. We could say so much more, and all of it would be positive! Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast could be better, but maybe we are just too picky. For Malta, it’s actually quite good!
