Great location, awesome staff and exceptional breakfast

Size of the room was too small, noise from the street

Cozy hotel in the very center of the city. Excellent staff both in the hotel itself and in the hotel restaurant.

We were looking for a hotel with a safe in the room. The website states that there is a safe. However, it is not in the room: you can leave valuables under the control of the staff. This is not a big problem, but the information on the Booking website is not entirely true. The bed was not very comfortable and the air conditioning suddenly stopped working during the night. This is a small problem, but a definite inconvenience.

The location was perfect just off one of the most beautiful squares in Kotor. We received a very warm welcome and the staff made our room available a couple of hours before check-in, as we arrived early in the morning. The room was decorated in a lovely style and was immaculately clean, with lots of space and even a separate single bedroom we could use as a dressing room. The breakfast consisted of a good range of options and was of a high quality, as was the service from the serving staff. We ate in the hotel for our first evening meal, and this was excellent too.

There is some noise in the evening from adjacent bars and restaurants, but everything goes quiet at the 1am cut-off time, so really not a problem for us.

This was a lovely hotel and the people were very friendly - breakfast was delicious.

The location of the hotel was a bit disappointing. Kotor is generally quite noisy as narrow streets make the sound travel. The area around the hotel was particularly loud at night as a nightclub and bar next door - loud music with a lot of bass until 1am - we didn’t sleep well at this hotel

A lovely hotel in the heart of Kotor Old Town. The reception team were really helpful in advance of our stay, they arranged an excellent private walking tour and we were able to get into our room early. We have a lovely welcome and were offered help with any tours, taxis or bookings. It was my birthday and we returned to our room to find a bottle of wine and a lovely birthday message. Our room was large and the bed very comfortable with excellent daily servicing. Breakfast was served in the small square, giving an adequate but not huge range of options.

It didnt disturb us at all, I quite like listening to the activity outside when I go to bed, but if you need quiet to sleep you would probably find any hotel in the middle of old town too noisy in August.

Even though we had some issues with our booking, our host, Florina, went out of her way to make sure we felt super welcome, which really made our stay amazing. The hotel is an old castle in a perfect spot within the citadel, offering an incredible view of the sea. Our room was really spacious and could easily fit a whole family. The beds were comfy too. One of the best parts was the private access to a secluded rock beach, where you can enjoy the Adriatic coastline without dealing with the crowds of Ulcinj. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby with awesome views, but I'd definitely recommend the hotel's restaurant. We had the most delicious breakfast there. Plus, our host speaks perfect French, which could be a big help for non-English speakers. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we'll come back for sure !

in the heart of old town the staff are very helpful, they work to fulfill every request in the best way possible the rooms are comfortable the air conditioners work very well the bathroom is perfect in every way the breakfast is very nice and sufficient if needed there is a private and free parking service 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, they give you a code for the door

to tell the truth, there was nothing we did not like, although the price seems relatively high compared to other hotels at first, when you consider the breakfast and parking fees, it becomes quite normal

My mum and I loved EVERYTHING about Hotel Monte Cristo. It exceeded our expectations and both staff at reception and breakfast were exceptional. Our favourite was how CLEAN our room and bathroom were. I read this in a review but truly, you could have a meal in the bathroom. That's how clean it was. It smelt fresh, I love the fresh air coming in through the windows, the size of the room was more than enough for two people, adequate essentials provided by the hotel including towels, shampoo and shower gel, shower cap, clean glasses. Mini fridge with drinks and a tea station too. I know it's the standard but the standard of cleanliness is exceptional. My mum had trouble walking up the stairs because she has limited mobility but she would go back to Hotel Monte Cristo in a heart beat. I loved that despite it being a central location, there is a car park for hotel guests about 5 minutes walk to the Hotel. Finally, while we walked around old town Kotor, we went back to use the toilets and staff were still more than happy to let us in which was a plus. I would stay here again. The price was reasonable as well and worth it too. Comfy beds as well and I will always support small businesses that more than exceed one's expectations just like this hotel did for us. We were staying at another 5 star hotel but made a trip to Kotor and last minute decided to stay one night there and despite our 5 star hotel being clean, Hotel Monte Cristo is significantly smaller but exceptionally clean! Keep up the good work and we hope that many more guests have a great experience staying here just as we did.

Only thing was the music from next door but it also was like music playing for us as well. The good thing was that the music next door did not play past midnight and the hotel windows shut most of the noise out. No fault to the hotel though as if guests were to leave their windows wide open, it was also a nice vibe with music and fresh air coming into the room :)

The location was amazing. We really enjoyed staying in the heart of the old town. The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. We really appreciated the free parking, as well as the directions they provided to reach the parking and the hotel.

The rooms are not soundproof. It’s a pretty lively night scene so can get loud. Our room was located right off of the reception desk, so it didn’t feel super private.

The location in the old town of Kotor was nice, the parking space is 5 minutes walking distance, and the rooms were ok. Breakfast restaurant is also quite good.

Would remark two issues: - The hotel is right next to a bar that is incredibly loud starting from the evening and not closing down until 00:00. We stayed with the windows closed, but you could still hear (loudly) the sound from outside. We struggled to sleep at any point before 00:00 due to that. - Maybe it was just our room, but the room was really poor in terms of electrical switches, it was a struggle to find a spot to charge our phones.
