The hotel is located in the Tamil quarter, and it is possible to easily walk to places of interest, especially Durbar Square. The hotel has a very beautiful courtyard. The staff are very kind and friendly, especially Mr. Nowraz. The food is good.

The windows of the school open to the hotel yard and the noise of the students is high during the day. The hotel has four floors, but it does not have an elevator, although it does not cause any problems for young and middle-aged people due to its good design.

This is a great place to stay in Kathmandu. The hotel is newly-opened after having been closed for several years. The style is traditional but in no way outdated. The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming of all requests; I have never been taken care of as nicely as I was here. The best part about this hotel is the garden, which is a place of complete tranquility even though it is in notoriously busy Thamel. Increbile value for money for my stay. The hotel itself offers excellent amenities, including an in-house bar and restaurant, providing convenient dining options for guests. The rooms we stayed in on the first floor all featured balconies overlooking the courtyard, which doubles as a cozy lounging area—perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. A favorite among international travelers, the hotel attracts guests from countries like Germany, China, Russia, India, the US, and many more. I could write pages about their incredible breakfast spread! The buffet included a delightful mix of options, such as fluffy pancakes, crispy puris, stuffed paranthas, and an assortment of mixed vegetables, either boiled or fried. Guests could also enjoy custom-made eggs—fried, omelet, sunny-side up, boiled, or authentically poached—along with chicken sausages, ham, fresh bread, fresh fruit, salad, juice, cornflakes, and muesli. Not many hotels offer fresh fruit and vegetables, loved it!The staff were not only friendly and attentive but also absolutely adorable! 😄 I did have a slightly embarrassing moment during our stay. After checking out, one of my travelmates thought she had left her slippers in the hotel room. Wanting to be sure, I messaged the hotel on WhatsApp, asking them to check if we had left anything behind. They kindly checked and promptly responded, assuring us that nothing had been left behind. Later, to our amusement (and slight embarrassment), we discovered that the slippers were actually packed in our luggage all along!

Beautiful hotel nested inside the chaos of Thamel. Very nice and peaceful garden area. The place is close to all the attractions in Kathmandu. Very friendly staffs, and great breakfast. I will definitely be staying here again after my travel around other cities of Nepal.

I had an incredible 1 night stay at this hotel.From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The front desk staff greeted me with a smile and provided me with all the information I needed to make the most of my trip. The room was spotless, modern, and well-equipped, with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view . The housekeeping team made sure to tidy up every day without disturbing my privacy, which I appreciated. I also loved the complimentary juice at the lobby at arrival time. The hotel's location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the Thamel market and it was easy to explore the local area. I had a fantastic dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, with a view of the skyline. Highly recommend trying their signature dish! I will definitely be returning to this hotel next time I'm in town!

Hotel Nirvana is a wonderful retreat right in the heart of Kathmandu, located near Chatrapatti—a perfect spot within Thamel, yet tucked away just enough to escape the noisy streets. The moment you enter, you feel the shift: a peaceful garden with a cascading fountain, cozy sitting areas, swings, a small garden bar, and even a fireplace—everything invites you to relax and soak in the atmosphere. There’s even a small library with books and a comfy sitting corner right next to the garden, creating a perfect space to unwind with a book or a quiet cup of tea. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated in traditional Nepali style. We had the chance to stay in three different rooms, and each had its own charm—a sunny balcony with a garden view, a super spacious and elegant suite with a more discreet, shady balcony, and a smaller but cozy rooftop room next to the large rooftop terrace, complete with sunbeds to relax in the sunshine. Breakfast was a real highlight—a buffet with a wide selection for all tastes, including lots of delicious vegetarian options. Everything was ready even at 6:30 a.m. when we had to leave early, and they also offer breakfast boxes to take away on request. The cappuccino was excellent, and the egg station chef is a true professional—eggs in every possible style, made with care and love. And then there’s the staff—an absolute treasure of this place. Everyone is incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. The reception team is outstanding, the restaurant staff deserves a big compliment, and room service is discreet and attentive. Even the security guards greet you with a warm Namaste and a smile every time, bringing a little joy to your day. Whether you’re starting your Nepal adventure or winding it down, Hotel Nirvana lives up to its name—a peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming place that truly feels like home. Some of the bathrooms show signs of age and could benefit from a little renovation—but this is by no means a complaint. The charm of the place, the cleanliness, and the overall comfort more than make up for it.

I have an exceptional experience here during my stay I am very satisfied the location is great and the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. I would like to recommend mainly Sanjil Regmi who helps me most of the time while I am staying here specially during the time that I pick up a wrong baggage in the airport he particularly arrange everything in order for me to return and get my own baggage. Thank you Sanjil and the rest of the staff from the reception from the security and all staff in the restaurant are very happy to assist you. I think this is the best hotel I’ve ever been that I feel welcomed and appreciated. The hotel was a great view specially there garden outside u will feel relaxed. Everyday they clean my room and all the things u need in the toilet is always available. Thank you and hoping to come back again in Nepal I will stay again here. Great budget hotel for backpackers, trekkers etc. Lovely quiet garden to enjoy breakfast. Breakfast offered a good selection of both European and Asian food. Rooms were a good size and were cleaned every day. Aircon worked. Staff were very attentive. Mountain, Sun Valley treks and expeditions right around the corner so we didn't have far to go to sort last minute details of our trek.

The hotel is older and bathrooms definitely showing age particularly bathrooms. More attention to fixing poor drainage in bathrooms after showers and changing shower curtains more frequently.

Very attractive, large and comfortable room. Beautiful balcony facing a charming garden with a peaceful waterfall surrounded by tropical plants. Great breakfast buffet with excellent options for vegetarians. While the hotel is excellently located in touristy Thamel very close to everything, it's a few steps away from a major Thamel street, and when you get to the hotel and its garden, amazingly you can't hear a single sound from outside. It's so peaceful, so beautiful!

The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you have a mobility issue, you may choose to stay on the first floor. The only other thing that I didn't like was the fact that I only stayed here 3 nights. I wish I could spend at this hotel the rest of my life!
