Greatly renovated grand hotel in the center of the city. Rooms nicely decorated and equipped - bathroom with great amenities and marble finish. Spa department very nice with relaxing atmosphere. Staff amicable. Breakfast proper but nothing special.

Strong grilled fish smell in the lobby during the whole 2-day stay. The ”courtyard view” was a pile of contruction structure - not quite worth seeing for over 500€… see photo. Could be nicer.

De L'Europe is at the heart of Amsterdam city centre, at a walking distrance to the most significant destinations. Besides this, it is a very well maintaned institution that has been constantly improving by new additions over the years while maintaining its original ambiance. A hotel is just a building without a loyal staff. In this respect, De L'Europe is a perfect establishment with its very friendly, professional staff. Taking this opportunity I would like to thank Renee, Jordan and Kostas whose presence extending over many years make De L’Europe a home away from home.

The hotel was beautiful and centrally located to everything we wanted to see - Anne Frank's House, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh were all approx. a 20 min walk away. The staff (esp. the concierge) were extremely kind and helped me obtain hard to get tickets to events (Van Gogh) + restaurants & taxis. If you book a taxi through the hotel, you'll be charged a set price that could be lower than one you'll negotiate on your own. The room was immaculate, the beds were extremely comfortable, the bathroom always had plenty of soft towels. The people at the entrance always greeted us with a smile, and the foyer was beautifully decorated with art, fresh flowers and an expansive view of the canal. Our room had a canal view as well and at night it was wonderfully calming to watch the boats glide under the lighted bridges.

The wifi connection seemed somewhat slower than normal. I'm not sure if the problem was due to my phone carrier's plan or the hotel's wifi, but I found that I often had problems opening up websites.

This hotel was fantastic! Worth every dollar spent. While waiting for our room they allowed use of the spa facilities so we were able to clean-up after the flight. The location was great - we walked almost everywhere and also used the hotel bikes one evening which was really nice. The hotel concierge made us a few dinner recommendations and reservations - our favorite was the tasting menu at Satchmo. The afternoon tea in the lobby was nice. Overall 10/10 hotel!

Sadly the sauna and steam room were unavailable the day I had a few hours to visit the spa downstairs. I still enjoyed the pool and relaxation room which were both lovely. Also, I had requested early check-in which they didn't promise, but our room wasn't ready until 3pm on the dot.

The room was big and comfortable and the bathroom/toilet were very nice.

We thought we had a view of the canal but didn't, somehow we misunderstood about this. One night the room above us had a leak from the bathtub and for about 2 hours water leaked from a light in the bathroom on the floor and then a plastic bucket. This stopped and did not reoccur. The hotel offered to change rooms but we waited the leak out and did not move.

All was good my only disappointments 1. when our friends arrived for an evening boat trip, there was no room for the car to be put in the hotel garage, my fault we should have enquired when we booked the trip with you 2. In the lounges there was no drinks service after 10pm ( your staff got around the problem, but in reality there should have been no problem( get our order from your pub bar 3. Confusion on what was included in the buffet breakfast ( I believe one can order from the menu and use the buffet at the price of the buffet but still not quite sure. All are little issues, love the hotel

We liked the details like putting water in the coffee maker, the clean room with towel refresh, water refresh daily, overall cleanliness, blocked out sound, dark room, excellent a/c, decor, all of it! Perfect

USB did not work by the beds, dim lighting in the bathroom for putting on make up, mirror distance from bathroom sink for shaving.
