The room was comfortable and clean, with a great shower and a very comfortable bed. Plenty of electrical sockets and a well lit mirror. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the building was very quiet despite being very close to the train station - also no noisy lifts, gurgling pipes or slamming doors. Location was very convenient and the amazing decor made for a great atmosphere, and a hotel that is actually fun to spend time in!

Positive and constructive rewrite I recently stayed at this vibrant and quirky hotel and really enjoyed the experience. I had the Secret Bookcase room, which was a perfect fit for me. It was minimalistic and comfortable, featuring a cozy double bed, a clean shower, a nightstand, a table, and hanging space for my clothes. The room felt pleasantly sized for a solo traveler, and I appreciated its high level of cleanliness. The welcome note was a lovely personal touch that set a warm tone for my stay. The location is a terrific plus: just a short four-minute walk to the main train station and a nearby bus station. The area feels quiet and safe, which helped me sleep soundly due to the overall peaceful environment. While the breakfast didn’t quite meet my expectations for value at £15, there are many great breakfast options nearby, making it easy to find something you love. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and it was great that everyone spoke English. This hotel is a fantastic option for a short stay, and I loved the unique style and decor. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I found it charming and distinctive.

There are a few areas that could benefit from upgrades to keep the property feeling fresh—particularly the front-of-house reception area and the communal spaces, which could use a coat of paint. Also, for guests with mobility needs, please note there is no lift and there are about 20 stairs to reach the second floor. Overall, a wonderful base for exploring the city and a memorable stay that I’d happily repeat.

It was exactly as on the pictures. The room was small but nice. The bed was really comfortable (coming from someone with back issues). The 24/7 reception was great since we came in late and left early to travel. It is truly just 5 minutes from rotterdam station and was great for our future travels. Not to expensive. And the rooms look totally normal inside.

The hotel was a bit scary at night with those decorations ;) but yeah truly nothing to complain. I am surprised by the quality of this budget hotel. The only point I have is I booked a room which had pictures of a window that you could open, but our rooms window couldn't be opened. So if you want that I think you need to inform them ahead of time? So I got a bit of a stuffy nose, and the room didn't really cool down when we used the thermostat (we asked it to be 18, but it stayed at least 21/22 degrees)

It is very unique in a campy sort of way! Just be aware that there are no books on the shelves of the 'bookshelf' rooms! The rooms are small - like most rooms in the Netherlands - and there is nowhere to put your suitcase. You can't open the window - and there was a strong smell of cleaning products. Bed is comfortable. Shower is best one we encountered in any hotel room in the Netherlands. Places to 'hang' in the hotel were chill - fountain in one area - you can buy snacks and things downstairs. No lift - no bannisters on stairs.

Really fun hotel, the common areas are an attraction themselves. Absolutely loved the design and ambiance. Staff was friendly and prices of drinks and snacks were very fair.

Even though it had only been 20 degrees outside when we arrived and we set the AC in the room to 17 degrees and maximum ventilation, the temperature didn’t go under 21.5 degrees so it was a pretty warm and stuffy night, especially without a window to open. A shame the AC system cannot deal even with mildly warm summer days. The shower has a rain shower and a regular showerhead which was loose and kept sliding down on the railing. Water pressure wasn’t great.

Funky design of the hotel is very interesting. Although some regular hotel features may be absent here, it is central and convenient. The staff are super friendly and super helpful. Nothing is too much hassle for them. Food is lovely too. There are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room and there are no windows but they leave coffee and tea in communal areas during the morning and afternoon. I forgot my hairdryer but the reception had one to loan for guests. Wouldn't be a business style hotel but perfect for a tourist exploring. The room, towels and bed linen are changed after 3 days but if you need clean towels before that the reception provided them. They have a chat facility also where they are very quick to respond to queries you might have. Genuinely had a lovely stay here. Very easy going relaxing place to base yourself. The room I had was very spacious which was great.

No lift but I had read that in reviews prior to arriving and someone did help us all the way to the room with the cases which was really great. Thank you!

Location is very good - hidden behind the side of Central Station. Room was super small. It just fitted the bed and you could crawl out and into the shower. I would advise getting a room bigger than the small room. Staff were fantastically helpful. Hotel was trendy. Bar was open late at night. Great for a drink. Nice shower.

Would have loved some bannisters going up the stairs. Should have booked a bigger room. I found it difficult to organise my day without a decent table.

You couldn't ask for better location. The staff were so lovely, the place was so cool/funky - the creativity was amazing I loved it and the little welcome note was touching. It comes across as a lively place but it must have been off peak because there was barely anyone around. Kevin Bacon restaurant the food was delicious.

The buffet breakfast but then it didn't help that I only arrived 30 minutes before the end so that was probably my fault. I didn't like the frequent dropping water type noise coming from the wall.

The receptionist was very friendly, informative and helpful. She let us know directly that there was no elevator for guests. With a kid and a stroller, she gave us the solution to store the stroller in the room next to the receptionist desk. We love the colorful living areas inside and outside. We used them to relax after a long day and had our dinner outside. My son and I loved to play with the giant chess outside. It was very calm area too. The breakfast was really what we needed. Small options, giod quality and no waste. Thanks for doing extra to prepare the breakfast for my son.

The hotel is smaller than expected. No elevator to second Floor, I would have been more prepared if I knew it before. The step stairs were unexpected but my 2-y.o. managed it well. The room was really small. They could have installed some hooks for towels and portable hanging shelves for more storing places tho.

A lovely hotel in a great location right beside Centraal Station. Interesting room designs paired with cool, helpful and friendly staff made my stay very satisfying. There was an issue with power outage during my stay but I could see the staff did their best to help and solve the problem, so overall it did not affect my stay.
