The décor was absolutely stunning. It felt like staying in a European home. Terry and his team were warm and easygoing. My room was spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable 3 day stay: a kitchenette, tableware, and a bathtub perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. I also enjoyed a drink in the beautiful garden while reading in the afternoon. A big plus — The Table restaurant at the hotel is one of the best in New Plymouth.

If I had to mention one thing — my ground floor room had beautiful windows, but I couldn’t open it( not sure if they were meant to open). I do like a bit of fresh air each day.

Loved the decor of the room, and really cool how they've modernised an old house to split into 4 separate units. Everything we needed in a unit. And nice transition between front of house through the garden area/restaurant to back units.

Quite noisy at nights with racing cars, sirens etc. but to be expected with the location so central to the centre of the city. So happy to compromise quietness in this case. The room was very hot, so either had to shut verandah doors (which we loved being open with the large bi-fold doors) in order to cool the room down, or have it hot with the doors open. The high walls on the verandah stop the air-flow and breeze coming into the room

The hotel and rooms are very stylish and Terry is a delightful host. We didn't have breakfast but we did have dinner one evening and it was delicious. The lamb was perfectly cooked. The location is great, it's an easy walk to the Len Lye gallery and some excellent cafes, restaurants and bars. In the opposite direction is the famous Pukekura Park for a walk and to admire the beautiful trees and plants.

The room was quite light after dark due to a street light. Easily fixed with an eye mask, except I forgot mine.

Professional, friendly, and accommodating staff. They understood when family joined me for the remainder of my stay, providing extra bedding at no extra costs. The onsite restaurant served quality kai in a beautiful setting. It is a great location and close to Pukekura and CBD.

The mini fridge placed inside the wardrobe was warm to touch. I suggest relocating to beneath the bench.

Breakfast was better than expected with fresh fruit with our granola. Our dinner meal, although pricey, was absolutely divine. The whole atmosphere was great with the quirky features as real talking points. It would be good to have a return visit in summer to enjoy the outside area.

Being moved to another room at very short notice was unfortunate. Our first room was quiet with a nice view whereas the new room was at street level so noisy. The bathroom was bigger with a standalone shower which was appreciated but being downstairs we could hear noise from people running up and down the stairs and moving around upstairs.

It has everything we needed for a comfortable/restful stay. So clean everywhere we looked. The decor is fascinating! It's like being transported back in time but with all the amenities of a modern hotel. We enjoyed visiting New Plymouth but the Nice Hotel is a site to explore in itself! Thanks!

Lovely place to stay, great atmosphere and other very pleasant customers.

Very disappointed upon arrival to find that we had been downgraded in room as another customer had overstayed, without so much s a courtesy phone call. They did however (after complaining!!) sort the situation for us and we did enjoy the remainder of our stay.

Maggi was so welcoming and accommodating! Food from the restaurant was stunning, drink selection was amazing, beds were dreamy and the rooms were so convenient! We loved the location of the accommodation/ restaurant as everything was in walking distance for our family!

We were greeted by lovely, helpful, friendly people who went out of their way to suggest great places to eat and visit. The room was really comfortable and clean, nicely furnished and decorated. Sadly, we could only stay one night and wish it could have been more

Room was nice and bed was comfy. Location is really good and some great restaurants within walking distance.

No ventilation in the bathroom the condensation was really bad and with no shower curtain water would go everywhere and make the floor really slippery if you didn't wipe all the water up. They didn't clean out the fridge food from previous guest was left in it
