Location is awesome - everything is right there. Beach, walks, museum, shopping, cafes etc. The staff - reception, cleaning, bar and restaurant are all very friendly and helpful. Bikes can be stored at reception too which was so handy! The restaurant is very yummy with amazing views
Elevator felt sketchy and was slow so we often used the stairs which was fine. 😀 There is not enough parking for all guests so we were parking out on surrounding roads at times. The hallway noise and light had to be stiffled with a rolled up towel at night. But all these are pretty minor - we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Great staff etc. Excellent location and views
Umm... the peanuts and crumble down the sides of the sofa chairs - all of them , from many occupants sitting on the sofa tells me that it doesnt get cleaned properly. The handle on the shower is wobbly - probably going to fall off soon. The scunge in between the kitchen bench tiles would indicate just the cursory 'quick wipe over' -its all good, is the cleaners habit. The door into the bathroom has the usual dark stain at hand grab height of multiple use that has not been cleaned properly - probably needs painting. just some proper cleaning and a bit of maintenance folks would go a long way. This is the 'penthouse suit' is it not? You pay a premium for....?

The stunning views over the ocean. The penthouse suite was a real treat. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The restaurant had a great menu and were flexible about sharing a large main course between us. Easy parking on site. Nice to have a bright reading light. Comfy bed.
The road between us and the sea was busy all through the night with heavy trucks presumably coming from the port from about 3am onwards. The room service breakfast of toast and spreads was not good value for money.

fantastic room with a great view of the mountain also came with seperate bathroom with spa bath. Very comfortable beds, and rooms come with iron & ironing board hair dryer fridge and facilities to make hot drinks. Bonus is a wonderful resturant with an awesome view of the sea. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be.
my only dislike was the spa baths were very noisy someone in a room either in the floor above me or the room next to me used their spa bath and I could hear it very loudly from my room, so meant when I used mine others would have heard it also. Maybe hotel needs to look at seeing if they can muffle the sound somehow.

Room really big with nice side seaview and hotel location is exceptional. House keeping staff simply outstanding. Room spotless after each visit and they could not have been more friendly. I consider them a real asset to the hotel. We found them friendly, cheerful and they went above and beyond the call of duty.
Front desk staff. Checked in Saturday PM...... Very sour, no Hello how are you, did you have a nice journey, etc etc. Just put your car reg there and sign here. Passed over two room cards and said there is the wifi code. End of encounter!! Not as much as a smile, nice word, welcome....nothing. No have a lovely stay, or anything we can do during your stay just ask, etc etc. A robot would have done a better job. I strongly suggest they are replaced with the house keeping staff....they are friendly, full of personality, made us feel welcome. Stayed in hotels all over the world....first point of contact a let down.

The room was huge and I had a view of the Mt Taranaki and the ocean. I arrived on a perfectly still day with clear skies to Mt Taranaki and a calm ocean. The next day the Mt disappeared and the ocean was wild. It was a fabulous location close to the shops and plenty of places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner close by. I ate at the hotel with local guests and it was really great and the room service was equally as good. The staff were very helpful. There was car parking on site.
There was only one lift - it is not a tall hotel but if the lift was out and you had to cart your luggage up and down the stairs that could be difficult. The stairs were open and great and the lift was fine while I was there.

Aakasha in house keeping Michael and Manish in the restaurant were excellent. Their people skills were exemplary and we were very impressed. Front of house were also nice.
We didn’t like that on the day we arrived (which was beautiful and sunny) the restaurant/bar closed at 2pm and didn’t open again until 5pm. We were disappointed as it would have been a lovely place to look at the view and have a drink and snack. Come 5pm it was no where near as warm. Very disappointing

Location was great.Everything is walking distance, great choice of eateries close by as well.Very spacious room.
One of us has a lung condition and struggles to breath whenever there is any thing perfumed in the air.The reception and on the floor entrance way the hotel has those reed diffusers which made breathing instantly hard walking from your room to outdoors.I know that you can't cater for each guests ailments but there must be more silent sufferers who react to those diffusers. Not fun when it affects you. Why does the hotel need them?

Loved the location, always wanted to stay here...wanted to walk beside the water + very relaxing atmosphere in the hotel. Lovely room, comfortable bed. Bit weird when milk for the tea was brought up to our room in a glass...no jugs available?? Maybe put a small tetra pack in the fridge?? Loved that there is such a good restaurant attached...great dinner and very accommodating wait staff + chef.
It's not the hotel's fault but trucks and heavy traffic started rumbling through at 5.00 a.m. or so and that was the end of any meaningful sleep! I would stay here again though, despite that.

Friendly house staff. We ate dinner at the restaurant on the day we arrived all the other days we ate out. This is not a negative reflection on the restaurant. We wanted to see what Ngā Motu had to offer. The shower was awesome.
I climbed Paritutu and was looking forward to a lovely spa to relax my aching muscles. I was really disappointed with the jets in the bath as there was very little pressure to make a difference.
