- the staff - friendly, helpful and informative - The views from our room - The most scenic breakfast room we have ever dined in - Children breakfasting for free - good, working reading lamps by every bedside - The 4 min walk to the bus stop and not having to drive and find parking in the congested town centre
- The internal frosted window between the bathroom and the room. Terrible design in completely the wrong place. - Minor maintenance issues - leaking tap and non-working ventilator fan in the bathroom. - if you are serving rice congee for breakfast, you need to have a few more accompaniments with it or not to do it at all E.g. Salted duck eggs, fried dace with salted black beans, pickled veggies, fried shallots, etc.

My stay at the hotel was truly exceptional, and I want to sincerely thank the entire team for their outstanding hospitality. Every single staff member was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure guests felt welcome and well cared for. A special mention goes to Camila & Vaibav whose warmth, attention to detail, and commitment to excellent service truly stood out. They made my experience not just comfortable, but memorable. The hotel atmosphere was relaxing, and the service consistently exceeded expectations. One suggestion I would like to offer is to introduce more variety in the vegetarian meal options by rotating the menu—this would add even more value for guests staying multiple days. Also, extending the spa hours until 10:00 PM would be a fantastic improvement, allowing guests more time to unwind in the evening. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of care and professionalism shown by the entire team. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

The experience was welcoming, especially thanks to Rajesh at the reception and Mu during breakfast. The team that came to tidy up our room was also amazing. We received lovely packets of cookies upon arrival. Since we arrived late and were hungry, we were very grateful for that thoughtful gesture. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The towel rail was heated, and the water pressure in the shower was good. Also appreciated that the body lotion was well-stocked, which is often overlooked in many hotel operator. However, it would have been nice to have bottled water in the room and complimentary parking available.

Love the food in their Italian restaurant GRAZIE! I could eat there everyday. Although a bit outdated and they need to hire more staff. Comfy beds, big rooms. Nice view of Lake Wakatipu. Love the balcony. Breakfast was ok. Varied selection but they don't change the dishes. It's the same everyday.
A bit far from the city. You need to take transport. There are no establishments nearby. I see people jogging in the early morning though so that could be an alternative if you like exercising.

Room was well designed into two rooms. All very comfortable. I spent a whole day in the room one day working and found it all very pleasant. The view was of the Remarkables which is spectacular. The breakfast was help yourself with a very wide range of choices but after a week of exactly the same menu some people might find it monotonous. Perhaps poached eggs instead of scrambled as a choice.
Not being very able with technology found the TV and the air-conditioning challenging if you wanted to change it. Booking.com made the extension to my booking at Frankton Rd but I was staying at Holiday Inn Remarkables Park so all comments applied to Holiday Inn Remarkables Park Frankton Queenstown not the hotel listed

King room jacuzzi bath great. Comfy bed. Good tea and coffee and enough milk for once. Bus stop close by. very friendly staff. Breakfasts good and restaraunt good. spa jacuzzi. We left the Sherwood to go to the holiday Inn -the holiday inn was far comfier.
Plumbing gurgled really loud at night - I thought someone had turned the taps on in the bathroom. This happened several nights. spa environment needs upgrading - its a bit like a basement. No sun on the very small balconies facing the lake. you could shake hands with the people on the next door balcony. charge of 20 euros a night for car is excessive

Fantastic stay! We love returning, and this was our second visit to this hotel. The view is impressive, the location is convenient, and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Very nice Italian food also if you choose to dine in.
There is nothing really to complain about. The room might feel a bit small, but you can choose a better room, of course. We just went with the king-size bed with a lake view, so I thought we were booking the same kind of room as our first visit. However, this one had a spare single bed, which might be why it felt smaller.

One of the most fantastic views of my life. I will definitely be back. The staff were incredible and very helpful with everything I needed during my stay. The room was very big, comfortable and they cleaned it daily for me. It's a 2km walk to the city center or you can take the bus if you don't have a car. The amazing view of the Lake Wakatipu will guide you to the city.
Breakfast was included but it was the same everyday. I wish they had more options or variety.

The property is very well maintained with the best lake and mountain views in Queenstown. The room was sparkly clean and had everything we needed. The staff is exceptional, helpful, professional and welcoming. A special mention to Camila and the staff who have gone out of their way to make sure we are comfortable, and accommodated our preference of a slightly early check-in, minding our luggage while we went out to town, and helping my parents with their bags and a lift close to the room so they won't have to walk too far. It felt very personalised and we will definitely be coming back.
It's a little far and hilly to walk to and from the town, but not an issue if you have a rental car or if you're willing to catch the public bus.

The Bircher muesli and berry coulis at breakfast. The pizza dough was amazing.
The pizza topping - fungi misti - the mushrooms were so sparse that several slices of pizza had only two or three very small slices of mushroom. The timing of meal service - the excuse that pizza takes longer to cook …. Start cooking the pizza before the other dining partner selected dish. Sitting there waiting for your meal whilst your partner receives and finishes their choice of meal is the worst. I noticed that I was not the only diner this happened to! My husband commented that the scrambled eggs were like rubber.
