Just got back from an AMAZING family trip to Queenstown and have to rave about Villa de Lago! 🙌 Absolutely perfect for our family – the 3-bedroom villa gave us tons of space. But the VIEWS... wow! 😍 Waking up to stunning lake and mountain vistas every morning was pure magic. ✨ Plus, it was super convenient, less than a 15-min drive to town for all the action. The bedroom is in upper floor and underground which may not suitable for elders. The bathroom should has shower area for every room not bath tub.

The villa had a fantastic, unobstructed view across the lake to the mountains from the living room and bedrooms. It was a joy waking up to the sunrise each morning from the balconies. The villa was well laid out and the vaulted ceilings in the living area gave a greater overall sense of volume and spaciousness. It was an easy walk into town and so easy to access from the track below the complex. The heated towel rails and underfloor heating in the bathrooms were extremely pleasant, especially when waking up on such cold, chilly mornings. The bedding was extremely warm and cosy. The villa was extremely quiet. We never heard our neighbours or any other outside noises. The cleaning was exceptional. It felt like our villa was cleaned and the towels changed much more regularly than what was written up in the guest guidebook. The staff were so attentive, friendly and quick to fix anything that wasn’t working properly.

The fireplace in the living room was temperamental at times and would not ignite. It would have been nice to have had a sound system in the living area as we were not TV watchers and prefer to listen to music. We did find that the clock radio from the main bedroom had an iPhone dock so that was a good substitute. We cooked quite a few meals in the kitchen and found the drawers were quite difficult to close. They kept popping out when trying to push them closed.

We loved just about everything with the property, The location was just perfect, very conveniently just outside of Queenstown. Great view, very clean and very responsive staff if you had questions!

The only things that we somewhat disliked was the driveway access, the stairs down to our room with our big suitcase and the sensitive fire alarms. But we wouldn’t have let that turn us off. We did love the accommodation.

We stayed for 14 nights on our honeymoon The location was perfect, easy access and description/directions easy to follow on self service check in via lockbox to get into our suite. Easy to get into the centre of Queenstown walking distance approx 30 mins along the lake side or 5 min drive It was a relaxing vibe overlooking the lake and mountains, peaceful- little to no noise place looks exactly like the pictures on line The customer service was attentive and prompt to respond to requests or questions via email. Overall we enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back to stay and would recommend

Our kitchen and dishes/ utensils were dirty - prompt to respond to my concern and offered to clean this as soon as possible - so the negative turned to a positive outcome

The view in our lackfront one bedroom suite was fabulous and exactly how you see it in the ad. The gas fireplace with remote and timer made our winter stay very comfortable. The full kitchen helped us save a few $$$ as eating out in Queenstown is quite expensive. The heated bathroom floor was wonderful. Checkin (via lockbox) was seamless. There wasn't any need for reception. However any issue we had was communicated via booking.com and the staff rectified within the day. No issue too big or too small. Couldn't have asked for better service. The bed and pillow range was very comfortable and warm. We never expected room service due to lack of staff mentioned in the advertisement, but we did end up getting a mid week service and the team also came in every other day to change towels and refill detergent. The laundry helped us take home clean clothes :) Definitely should have packed a lot less. The walk to town is about 20 minutes along the lake.

-We had an amazing King Bed but we have a 5yo.. and 5yo's are free so long as he slept with us. After a foot in the jewels and a punch in the face all hours of the night, it almost got to the point where we were going to throw him into the lake! (Just kidding.. ;) We would have been happy with 2 doubles, or a double and a single.. -Probably needed more drawers and hangers for clothes.. but I've no doubt we would have received more hangers if we asked, we had our own too and we should have packed a lot less (thanks to the washer/dryer). -You need a car to get into the centre of town especially night time or bad weather. But the location and view made up for it and we had a hire car.

Location and the villa

Pillows were too big and hard, couldn’t find the villa 7 easily as there were no instructions when we entered the drive through. Car was parked at the blue fence so couldn’t see the stairs and had to go down the hill and then climb stairs with the luggage. Even after climbing the stair we couldn’t see the villa number as it was written next to the main door that too very small “7” was written.

Beautiful villa with amazing views of Lake Wakatipu from the living room and bedrooms. It is quiet, peaceful, comfortable and very clean. Kitchen is very well-equipped with all the essentials that you might need. The washer and dryer are such a big help, we were able to do our laundry before continuing on with our South Island trip. Very responsive and helpful staff. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Del Lago. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Queenstown.

The steep and difficult to negotiate small lane especially when driving a van.

The view was superb. The unit was very well equipped. We appreciated the use of the fully equipped laundry. The location was very peaceful and quiet.

The entry point off the main road was very difficult to negotiate. The access to the unit was via a flight of steep stairs which were difficult to manage for older tourists with heavy luggage at the same time. Two of the drinking glasses were unclean and two of cooking implements had baked on residue.

Lovely views and location. Easy to get to Queenstown and also shopping centre in Frankton. Rooms were clean and roomy. Bathrooms and kitchen had everything you could want. Our TV wasn't working but the team tried hard to solve the problem. Really enjoyed our stay.

Technician was so busy - he couldn't visit us. Other teams members came to try but in the end the it was found to be the TV needed replacing.

The location and the view looking out over Lake Wakatipu were amazing. The villa was clean, spacious and had all the facilities you would need to be self sufficient. It’s also only a few km from the heart of Queenstown and a short 5-10 minute drive away by car or bus. It’s also just far enough away from the hustle and bustle (inc. Frankton road) that you’re able to enjoy some peace and quiet.

There’s not much at all to fault. The only improvement that could be made is a refresh to some of the fixtures and appliances which were somewhat dated but all worked fine :)
