Great location , facilities and dining options. Staff mostly pleasant and available when needed. Good views from room & public areas.

A bit pricey despite the positives. Cafe food options & coffee were canteen like ( albeit with nice views) . Planetarium show only available at 7 pm which overlaps with dinner.

Perfect location overlooking the lake, 5 minutes drive from the town centre to access restaurants, shops but away from the crowds and busyness of the centre. Hotel shuttle service runs all day into Queenstown. We stayed in a regular room at first which was lovely, spacious and overlooking the lake. We extended our stay into a 1 bedroom apartment which was as gorgeous and cosy with an electric fireplace, full kitchen well equipped with everything you could need. King beds in both room and apartment were really comfortable. Easy parking onsite. Breakfast was excellent. Concierge Avinash organised a fantastic wine tour for us, and then a helicopter tour to Milford Sound and the glaciers in Fiordland National Park.

Limited room service options and the restaurant had few options.

Great staff, very friendly. Rating was helped due to the awesome view of the lake and mountains from the lounge room of our apartment (6021) without any buildings/roof tops in front to spoil it. Other rooms closer to reception will have the roof of more apartments below in the view. I think we were upgraded from a 1 bedroom executive room to a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, which allowed us to spread out. Dinner at True South restaurant was very good, try out the crayfish toasted sandwich for entree (delicious). The Royalburn Station lamb backstrap for main meal was tender, succulent and cooked to perfection. Excellent courtesy bus service into Queenstown runs on the hour, make sure you book it both ways.

Chromecast either did not work or was very patchy when it did. Could not stream a whole show. Given that the TV's appeared to be reasonably new Samsungs and, at over $900/night, this needs to be sorted out. The heating options in the lounge right next to the main bedroom (split system and gas fireplace) were both pretty noisy, so we could not have them running when going to bed. Fortunately, there was a wall heater in the bedroom room which was silent. Beware that this property takes full payment on check in (not check out), which caught us by surprise when our credit card got maxed out.

Good location a bit outside of Queenstown centre. Plenty of on site parking. Very friendly staff and comfortable room. Nice tea and coffee provided in room (pukka and nespresso). Large terraced area and they do give you plenty of nice, large towels. We didn’t go to the restaurant or have breakfast, but the view from the hotel lobby was beautiful.

Didn’t really feel like ‘luxury’ or high end stay - room was a bit tired with lots of stains on carpet. We opted for a Mountain View room rather than mountain and lake so knew the view might be slightly impacted but you could only see the very top of the mountain and the primary view was of the next level of the hotel. Bathroom was a bit of a nightmare - a large window into the room so if you wanted any privacy you needed the blind down in there the whole time, and our shower leaked tons of water onto the floor of the bathroom (despite the shower door being shut) which resulted in a sopping wet bath mat. It was fine for a couple of nights but for a very expensive stay we felt a bit let down.

The room was lovely, spacious and very clean and had a big balcony overlooking the lake which was beautiful. The reception staff were very well trained and we were met at the parking garage and escorted to our room. The lounge in reception was a great place to sit overlooking the lake.

The size of the restaurant was way too small for the size of the complex. The staff in the restaurant were lovely but made many mistakes with our orders over 3 different meals. Other tables nearby also had issues with their orders. It takes way too long to get a coffee to go with breakfast. We had almost finished our breakfast by the time we got our coffee, despite asking for it several times.

Loved the view from our room and the gas heater and comfy lounge. Plus having the full kitchen, would be great for a family. We chose to have breakfast included in our stay and it was a lovely breakfast.

The mattress was so soft, maybe they need replacing. Our first executive room was lovely but the road into the underground parking was very visible into that apartment and I didn't like that feeling of always having my blinds closed, so we changed rooms and it was nice but I felt the other apartment was bigger.

Location , view and good customer relation from the staff

Having the safe box very high , make it impossible to use it , need hovering every day ( a lot of food bits I found on the floor ), it will be nice to have microwave in the room especially in winter to heat food or drinks ( especially with limited time / variety at room service )

The Rees is a fabulous property to base yourself from in Queenstown. Its proximity to the town and ski fields was very handy. The apartment was lovely and comfortable, with quality finishes and it was exceptionally clean. Our view was beautiful. The staff are friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was definitely worth a visit, we had a delicious dinner and breakfast. I would especially recommend the apartments to families who enjoy having hotel service and amenities along with the spaciousness of an apartment.

I found having to call reception to access the ski room a bit annoying but really not a big deal as they were very quick to respond.

First of all the staff at this hotel were outstanding! Helpful and polite. Our room had a very comfortable King bed and a balcony with a view that’s priceless. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Very tasty and fresh. Lovely view over the lake. We used the shuttle bus into town about a 10 minute ride which was preferable to driving and finding parking in the limited spaces. We had a very comfortable and thanks to the staff and the scenery memorable stay.

The breakfast room wasn’t big enough and at certain times a bit chaotic.

Very spacious and luxurious room with balcony that had great views over the lake and mountains. A very comfortable king size bed which was next to a relaxing lounge. There was a seperate bathroom with spa bath and huge shower which you could see the view from but also close the blinds for privacy. Access to the lakeside walking path that took 35 minutes to walk to the Botanic Gardens next to the city centre. Was peaceful not to be in the middle of town with the noise and people. They offer a shuttle bus each hour into and out of the city that you can book in advance. Restaurant onsite is handy if you dont want to venture anywhere - can have a fancy meal or just order pizzas. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking available onsite.
