I was looking for a budget place to stay overnight on my journey south. I needed a ground floor room due to an injury. The staff were very accommodating with a late check out (for a small charge). Room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, even had a little table and chairs outside. Had to ask for the WiFi password, but internet was decent once connected.

Didn't get much info when I checked in, but I did arrive later in the day. Had to ask for the WiFi password, and read in the book there was a pool etc, but wasn't told anything at check in.

My family and I had an extraordinary few days at Absolute. Gerard was an exceptional Kiwi host - relaxed, friendly and easy to connect with. He even surprisingly spoke with my wife fluently in Japanese. We were given great local advice on attractions and offered special deals through his connections. Our suite was superb – excellent shower pressure, sound-proofed, fantastic modern TV, comfortable beds, nothing missing or broken. Little traffic noise, convenient to town centre, facilities in top working order and pleasant outdoor surroundings. Pool and spa were clean and quite incredible! - no booking required for use. I’ve stayed at a lot of motels in Taupo over many years and will most definitely be making Absolute my go-to place to stay in future. Simply magical.

Couldn't be faulted in any aspect.

The location was awesome and so was the view. It was right opposite the #LoveTapuo Sign - so we just crossed the road for a walk and took lots of photos. Shops were just around the corner - so it was super convenient. We had clear days, so we could see Mount Ruapehu clearly. Staff was great and helpful - no issues there - lots of fresh towel was a big plus. The kitchen had good utensils.

The place can use a 'do up', it was cold and the bathroom didn't have a heater. The main bedroom had an extra bed that we didn't need - so it was a bit cramped for space. Tiles in the kitchen had cracks and dents - didnt make it look nice, also there were cobwebs in some corners!

I liked that there were electric blankets on the beds...i liked that u can walk out the back and your pretty much in town..i liked that we were across from the lake.i liked that ther was an indoor pool spa aaaand sauna🥰 and i liked the gate and how high the latch was...i liked that the room was very well equipped in the kitchen..i liked tht we cud park right outside our room and that we were on th ground floor

That there was no lock on the bathroom door and no curtains on the windows(not sure if outside could see in)..and we werent allowed to use the laundry after 7pm...and that we had to smoke across from our room with no shelter because it rained when we were there

management were very welcoming, and the service was quick. we settled into our double room which was extremely comfortable, definitely great value. view of the lake (seen only from the car park) but still wonderful to see. walking distance to the main fast foods (2mins) which is great when you've been traveling all day 😀

only 1 small dislike, which was that the sliding door curtain wasn't quite wide enough, and so the outside light shone in the room

Location is great, short walk to the lake and restaurants, etc. Facilities were older but very clean, well stocked crockery etc. Plenty of clean towels. Air conditioning in lounge. Lots of windows for natural light and air. Friendly host.

Shower door leaks so water over the bathroom floor - not a big deal but went through bath mats and paper towels to prevent slips by kids. Carparking is difficult with large vehicles when busy - can't turn into parks - but mostly managed. Bedroom needs a fan.

Tidy, clean, nice view of lake taupo, nice size tv

The flush button for the toilet stayed down, and I had to lift the lid up to pop it back up. The shower flow of water coming out of the shower head was pathetic. It was as if there were too many people having a shower at the same time & we were all fighting for the water

Location was great. So close to shops, waterfront, restaurants and bars. Bed was 3 months old and very comfy. Water pressure on shower/corner bath amazing . Well equipped kitchenette. Comfy seats for table Linen and towels quality and soft. Room was clean and bathroom clean too. Spa is clean in pool room.

Bit of mold coming through on bath silicone. Cistern flush on toilet is a bit stiff. But that was all.

Fantastic location, so I could take my cup of coffee across the road to be see in the day next to the lake. Magnificent. The unit was small, but cosy, had everything we could have needed, We slept well. Super friendly staff too who made us all feel really welcome after a long hard day of travelling.

there was a broken drawer handle, and don't expect great views. You don't need them because the lake is RIGHT OUTSIDE THE MOTEL.

The service was brilliant. Turned up on a very cold -1 Taupo night and Gerard at the service desk had warmed our room up for us. He was welcoming and friendly. The beds were super comfy all with electric blankets. Basic amenities but perfect for what we needed as we were only staying for 1x night and leaving early the next day.

Honestly there was nothing I didn’t like about my stay.
