I liked that it was close to town and the lake. The unit was lovely and clean and the bed was comfy. Couldn't get tv to go so asked the lady to come and help me and she was more than happy to help. Very friendly staff

Check in was easy and efficient, the lady who checked us in was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, bright and comfortable, with everything needed for our stay. The bedding and towels were good quality. Excellent location, close to the shops and restaurants. Overlooking the lake.

The location was fabulous. The room was well equipped with a functional kitchen, good size bathroom with a spa bath. The living space had a small table & chairs, with additional arm chairs. The room had a lot of natural light which is always a bonus when staying in a motel.

The bed was a wee bit small for a couple (not a king), and there was an electric blanket underneath! It was summer and unsure why an electric blanket would still be on a bed. But it had plastic parts that near the pillow end of the bed, which made it uncomfortable. I should have pulled the whole thing off the bed. I am not a fan of electric blankets anyhow.

We loved our stay at Great Lake Motel. There was a hickup with the booking on booking.com at first (the app confirmed my booking, but the email which I didn't read - DHA! - had us booked the day prior). The staff was very helpful and found us the room to stay at a super-short notice on the day we needed (had to pay a bit more). Anyway, the room was spacious, super-clean, had everything we needed. We slept in a very comfortable bed and had a great shower. The motel is located right on the water front, very conveniently if you like walking, eating out, shopping, etc. There is a carpark allocated to every room. The staff goes a little extra and suggests to leave the dirty dishes in the sink as they do them for you! We thoroughly recommend the palce.

The Great Lake Motel Taupo has been a fantastic experience for us. The staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful. She helped us with our laundry; we needed our laundry to be done express, she allowed us to use their own dryer which was a lot faster and more powerful. A super nice lady :) The location of the motel is superb, it is within few minutes walk to the town center where there were many great eateries; it is also right in front of the lake Taupo and the "ILOVELAKETAUPO" sign. The room was in a very clean state and well set-up. In addition, the jacuzzi was amazing with full bubble function. We usually hesitate to use hotel's jacuzzi due to hygiene, but the Great Lake Motel was super clean and we felt very comfortable. We stayed at this place right after our big hike at the Tangariro. So the bubbly jacuzzi hit the spot :) All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and we would definitely come back to this place whenever we are in lake Taupo again. Highly recommended!

Location is walkable and very handy to the town centre. The living room was spacious as was the bedroom and bathroom. Being there in winter we had the heat pump on and it made the unit cosy and electric blanket was great to warm the bed up. Plenty of blankets if you didn’t want to use an electric blanket. Very comfortable stay.

Handy to town and good car parking outside our room.

A bit expensive and there was confusion on checking in as my Booking.com message said the motel would debit one nights accommodation on booking and we would pay for the next night on arrival. That didn't happen and we were asked for both nights on arrival. The staff couldn't tell us if we had been charged for the first night already. It turned our we hadn't. The motel need to get it's message sorted out with Booking.com. The motel servicing wasn't that comprehensive as they didn't change our facecloths even though we left them in the shower as directed.

I like the location. I like how accommodating the receptionist/owner is. When we notice the microwave is not working, they brought another one that works. Good size room, comfortable beds.

The door on the bathroom does not close properly, but we managed to make it work. I am pretty sure if we remembered to tell them they'd fix it right away.

The location was superb, right on the lake edge. The staff were SO lovely, especially with our baby, they seemed very happy to interact with him. We requested a cot and while it wasn't in the room when we arrived, it was delivered as soon as we enquired about it.

There was a nightclub near by that played bassy music until 2am, but that is completely out of their control so that is not a negative against them.

Clean , friendly service . Everything was perfect as we wanted. TV in bed room as well in front with option of Netflix as well. Clean beddings , towels etc. Bed with electric blanket . Ironing area as well. Parking allocated according to room number. Right opposite the taupo lake
