Our stay at Wanaka Homestead was nothing short of exceptional. The room was cosy and luxurious, opening to a stunning view of the garden framed by a graceful weeping willow. We particularly loved the shared living space, complete with a welcoming fireplace, and found the convenience of the laundry facilities to be a thoughtful touch for travellers. The location couldn't have been more perfect—just a serene two-minute walk through a lovely park to the lake, and a picturesque 20-minute stroll into town. While the cold kept us from enjoying the hot tub this time, it's certainly on our list for our future visit. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the staff. Kaalene ensured our late check-in was seamless and Allan provided invaluable local recommendations, making our stay all the more memorable. Without a doubt, we will return on our next visit to Wanaka.

Want to say a huge thank you to Allan for the most incredible stay. Firstly, the accommodation is to die for. So homely, welcoming and the hot tub under the stars is phenomenal! The lounge area with a huge log fire was perfect for the sub zero evenings- topped off by a visit from beautiful Bonnie! Secondly, his knowledge of the area is second to none! He's got all the food, and more importantly wine, recommendations alongside all the best walking and hiking routes! Even going as far as providing a lift to the walk start and bikes for an afternoon lake cycle! Could not recommend this homestead more, it absolutely made our trip and we will definitely be returning (with friends!). P.S. thank you for defrosting our car this morning Allan! Allan was a super host! From helping us with our suitcases, to giving us invaluable information about hikes, bike rides, restaurants, wineries etc. He couldn't have been more accommodating and made us feel completely at home. We felt like we were staying with friends! Our room was absolutely superb - huge and well appointed with lots of thoughtful touches. The common areas were also fantastic and very much appreciated. The location was great and all round it was just fabulous.

Location was great, short walk into wanaka. Lodge was fantastic, rooms were comfy and quiet.

Could have done with somewhere to fill up water and laundry is only open until 8pm, we arrived at 7pm after long drive and didn’t have enough time to do laundry. Didn’t want to waste our next day in beautiful wanaka so ended up not doing any washing as originally planned when booking this accommodation. These are only minor points and it wouldn’t stop me from staying here again as it was a lovely lodge.

Exceptional !! Absolutely the best place in Wanaka. The room is extremely clean and it has everything you need including a little fridge. The bed is super comfy and feels like heaven. The location is excellent it's very quiet and peaceful. You can grab unlimited coffee/tea, hot choc and milk in the communal room which has also a nice open fire. Allan, you've been an absolute legend! thanks for everything and the great chats!

This Homestead was clean, comfortable, cosy and close to the lake and the town (both easy walking distances). The free laundry was perfect for catching up on mid-trip washing and the grounds pleasant for relaxing and reading while waiting for clothes to dry! Allen was a helpful and considerate host who made us feel welcome and informed of what was available in the area (although this was our third visit to Wanaka so we were able to find most things we needed). We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the larger King size rooms in the main house and it was perfect for us - lovely decor, large, comfortable and quiet. The house is beautifully furnished and feels very welcoming, there were more facilities than we could use during our 2 night stay! Sadly we didn't meet the owners, and it seems from other reviews that we missed out on their wonderful baking, which is a shame. The location was great, just a few minutes' walk from the lake, and about a 15 minute walk into town along the shore. It was easy to find, with parking right outside the front door. We would definitely stay again.

We chose this property partly because there was the option (at the time of booking) to have breakfast included (and other reviews rave about it!) but sadly it is no longer offered.

The owner Allen is a really nice guy. He welcomed us with passion even though we checked in late. The hotel offer free washing and dryer. BTW, free hot tub!! I would say soaking in the hot tub with the viewing the bright stars could be the best day of my life. Thank you Allen!!!

Perfect location. Walking distance to the lake and shops, restaurants etc. Excellent car parking, Cleary signed and accessible. Fire was lit at 4pm in very comfortable sitting room. Host most welcoming and helpful suggesting good places to visit, where best to eat etc. Highly recommend this venue.
