Well-organised, clean, friendly hostel in a great location close to the CBD, restaurants, waterfront and ferry terminal. I had a private room and it was very big for a hostel room and even had a desk, a kettle, and tea and coffee. There was a mirror and plenty of hanging hooks. The bathrooms were close by and nice and clean. This hostel seemed to be divided into zones, with separate kitchen areas for groups of rooms, as well as a bigger common area on the ground floor.

My pillow was old and lumpy, and the mattress seemed old and soft. If you're unfit, you won't like the steep walk up to the door.

The staff are the best part of this establishment. They are very kind , warm , accomodating and receptive. I was so tired after my overnight bus to Wellington and they arranged for my early check-in without even asking. The room was spacious and cute . It was well heated and there was a stand fan too. The washroom was nearby and there are plenty in each floor and well equipped. The room had complimentary coffee and tea too. It was comfortable all in all. The bus stop is also quite close by ..just 160 metres.

The last end of reaching the hotel is uphill of 150 metres or so which is difficult with 20 kgs of luggage.

It’s not your typical hostel - rather you live in smaller units, separated by colour. Each unit has its own kitchen bjt u can also use the one on the ground floor. I met so many lovely people there - even some that were living there rather permanently. The pool table is a nice extra, as is the kickers although they are kind of worn. Supermarket was nearby which was lovely, beds comfortable. Safe parking was provided in the garage for a fee - not more expensive than any other parking options.

The upper kitchen was really small and some cutlery and essentials were missing. It got warm really quickly.

What I enjoyed: Friendly staff, cozy social lounge area (not the one by the reception), having a kitchen on each floor, my single room which had a great heater and bed, and the complimentary toiletries. I was able to buy food the night before leaving, and heat it up in the kitchen’s microwave which was extremely convenient. 🙌 If going to/coming the airport, Trek is situated in a fantastic location, about 3mins walk to the nearest bus stop.

Personally I think there are way too many doors in the hallways, which slightly hinders accessibility. Most of the doors are super noisy when opening and closing so I was woken up a couple times in the middle of the night. Another thing, perhaps bizarre and less important, is that the giant ant display near the elevator on the ground floor (?) gives me a fright each time I walk past it (I stayed on the 2nd floor) - is it really necessary to have an ant as a decoration? 😅

Perfect location to visit Wellington from. Being a bigger hostel meant it was easy to socialise with people. The complimentary food and drink event on a Friday was a nice bonus.

There were only two bathrooms in our wing which had about 4 or 5 dorms. As the toilet and showers weren’t separate this meant there were often long waits to use the facilities. Similarly only having two meant they were more unclean than they would probably otherwise be. No real social events organised over the weekend so it is sort of up to guests to get people together.

This was a very comfortable place to stay. It is a very large facility so the amount of people staying here can be overwhelming, but also they have so many amenities. Several kitchens and bathrooms on every floor, so it never felt crowded. Also, I saw the staff cleaning several times a day throughout my stay. I really appreciated that the shower rooms had so many hooks to hang things, places to put my toiletries, and space to change. A nice change from the hostels where the shower is in a stall and you have nowhere to put anything. Also, the dorm I stayed in had a lovely view of the surrounding area and lots of storage.

Going up the hill to the building and all the stairs to get to my room! My room was not accessible by elevator and I wish the listing had mentioned that. It's not the hostel's fault when booking.com doesn't make it easy to put this information in the listing. I am recovering from an injury so I really should not have been lugging around such heavy luggage, but I managed and am fine.

Great facilities- room was a decent size and the separate bathrooms were quite nice. There were also two charging ports next to the bed! The rooms were in ‘wings’ with a certain number of rooms to a common/ kitchen are and bathrooms. We felt like it was decently quiet too. The location is pretty central and was easy to get a bus from the airport here. We only stayed one night but we would definitely stay here again if we came back to Wellington.

Not much to be honest! Was really great for a backpackers- probably one of the best we have stayed in.

The facilities are complete, with luggage storage and photocopying services, parking is available for a fee, the location is good, in the city centre, the staff is friendly, and the toilets and bathrooms are clean.

Every time you go to the quilt and the bed does not seem to be very clean, there is residual hair and grass? Then I was bitten by a flea, although I do not know if it was bitten in the room, because the following two days have not been bitten again, the sound insulation between the rooms is not particularly good, the sound of the door is very clear, and the road inside is very winding, easy to go to the wrong door, but for this price, this accommodation has exceeded expectations

One of the best hostel I've ever been to. Everything was clean enough. Amazing atmosphere, different events everyday. Best value for money in Wellington. Wonderful staff and a lot of backpackers. By far better than Nomads Capital. Highly Recommended, I cant wait to come back.

The ground floor kitchen (which is the main) is pretty small and 2 out of 4 stoves didn't work, which is a bit annoying. Kitchen is usually full of little birds, which is not really hygienic.

Stayed in female room, and it was great with the reasonable price. The rooftop space was adorable and appreciate the "women only" bathroom. The place was close to everything and it was just a few minutes away to the bustop of airport transit.

The door was not really sound proof, so I ca still hear some girls talking and laughing just outside my room at midnight, as my room was just biside the hair dryer area. Just a suggestion, maybe relocate the hairdyer area away from the rooms. Other than this, everything was great. Thanks all the friendly staff :)
