I liked the fact there were fresh change of hand, face, body, floor towels there during my stay. The bathroom was cleaned all the time empty toilet paper were replaced, rubbish bins emptied lots of condolements,a jug and cup if you wanted a cuppa, there were plenty of plugs for my phone, a television I could watch while I was in bed. The bed was nice and big and also comfortable. I loved eating the buffet breakfast I always looked forward to it as I ate to my hearts content. The breakfast left me full all day. The main entrance of the hotel looked professional and high class. There were cameras for security and safety.

I did not enjoy the swipe card system. My card often failed when I scanned. For instance inside the lift if I wanted to go to my room I scan the scanner and pushed the number. Had more than a few goes to get it going.

The hotel was in a fantastic location to experience a lot of the best Wellington has to offer. It was also in close proximity to a number of businesses, making it an ideal location for work trips. I appreciated that the hotel was upfront with parking options and that accommodations could be found, even if there were no parking spots in the hotel's main area. A lot of hotels do not provide that level of assistance or information.

There was no one at the front desk at my check-in or check-out. A bell would help to notify the people in the back that someone required attention rather than trying to peer through the small windows that are placed by the offices. The other locations in the main foyer area - the hosting desk for the restaurant and the bar area nearby - tended to also be unattended, which resulted in confusion as to whether these services were available and, if they were, at what times they were open.

We checked in extremely late, and were hoping to get some food. Brandon, at the front desk, was very helpful in telling us what was around and was able to get us a menu for room service. He was also very helpful with figuring out parking and finding us a cart for our bags. All around excellent staff experience! The rooms are very nice and clean, if a bit small. They were also fairly well insulated to noise, especially for a hotel in the city.

Finding this location was extremely difficult, especially in the dark with one-way streets and construction. It is a very tricky place to find, and if you can get there during the day, I do recommend that.

Location Excellent staff

MINOR Problems. Kettle did not fit under tap making it hard to fill. Needed teatowel for china and bench. Appreciated milk. Slightly larger container needed for 2 people. Not aware of back entry until a couple of days there. Photos of outside of hotel non existent. Did wonder why but Construction nearby explains this I suspect. Pity as I did consider going to another hotel but cancelation policy and competitive price kept the booking cost. Thanks for the service and accommodation. Regards Heather

Location was so close to our training centre, easy to walk too and from. Lots of close restaurants, takeaway shops. Close to Cuba street, quiet. Really clean, lovely towels and a great hairdryer. Coffee and tea facilities. Bed wasnt the best on oneside, probably the side everyone sleeps on, so needs to be turned or replaced it. TV remote was not working, reported it but it didnt get fixed or changed, not sure if that was because my do not clean sign was up. Food is great, lots of options.

as above, the bed was the only thing that could have been better.

I enjoyed how quickly my mum and I were able to make a booking and arrive at the hotel around 1 hour later and our room was ready. The staff at the hotel was lovely and accommodating to our needs. Our flight back home was cancelled and we needed to stay in Wellington for an extra night. Both my mum and I have stayed here in the past and it is a very nice place to stay. It is a good location to the city, only a short walk away, and there is a lovely cafe outside and out the back called "Pickle & Pie" that I highly recommend going to for even just a coffee, the food is lovely too.

There was nothing that I didn't enjoy about my stay here with my mum. It was great.

Unfortunately did not eat breakfast at the hotel. But dinner was excellent! Great service. Our car decided not to start in the morning which made us late for our check out at 10am. The staff were very understanding and allowed us to fix the issue without the added pressure of a late penalty or parking fee. The car issue was the only thing that almost ruined our trip. We will definitely recommend West Plaza Hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Wellington.

Window and door to the balcony in room 401 needed a wash down, cobwebs and dirt/grime on it. That was all, everything else was all good.

The diner was excellent steak was perfect the breakfast was not only the cheapest over my 10 day vacation but the best by far the bacon was thick real bacon and a very good range of food from cooked to the fruit and juice and the selection of other food available staff were very accomodating and happy to help

The only thing was the parking as I had all stuff in my Ute if I’d known I could have parked in the high rise park that had lighting that I could see from my window

Location is great Beds were comfortable

TV chanel quality was very poor Walkin shower overflows onto the tiles making it very slippery especially because the shower faces the toilet Requested for 11am checkout which was confirmed by the lovely lady reception the day before check out. We went out for breakfast before checking out and returning our keys but came back to housekeeping cleaning up our room already at 1005am so ended up rushing to leave before our actual check out time.

Breakfast was great!

The young lady on the service desk did not appear to take our request for an early check in seriously. We are old and dont travel well - needed to rest up - we arrived about 1300hrs. Said she would call us when the room was ready but didn't. Two hours later we returned to the hotel and asked, and it was obvious she had done nothing. Fluffed about with the computer and checked us in. The rest of the team - especially Jean-Pierre and the dining staff were great. The TV picture was poor, despite recalibration of the settings. Don't think it has been updated since staying there in my corporate days in the '90's. Freeview stations quite limited. Read a book.
