I've been a couple of times in Oslo always staying at Scandic hotels. This proved to be by far the best of all. For its location, it is not downtown (7 km away) but the train station is a 5 mins walk and city centre can be reached by metro within less than 10 mins. The room was great. Firstly, it was spacious and I mean it! All comforts, facilities and accessories were there including an ironing table! Plugs are everywhere around the walls and there is plenty of light! Probably because the hotel building is new, not rennovated. The outer wall is of glass allowing sunlight to flood in. My only concern is that there was no closed space to keep anything out of third people's eye (such as dirty clothes) and the hangers were too few (only four). I am sure, however, that if I had asked the reception for few more I would have got them. The breakfast has a very big variety, corresponding definitely to 4 star hotel. The quality is good but not best. However, I felt comfortable with all food and beverages offered. Moreover, the hotel offers lots of space in the lobby (with plugs!) for people who want to meet, talk or just owkr. The room doors close firmly and there is almost no noise at all. The staff was more than polite and friendly. I had so many questions and I always received the right answer. Concluding, Scandic Helsfyr is highly recommended.

Too few hangers in the room.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, offering a wide selection of both hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, and drinks—something for everyone. The location is very convenient, with easy access to the city center via metro and bus, making it simple to get around. The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality and comfort, and I would definitely stay here again.

My colleague and I have stayed at this hotel for four days, apart from the first night as the hotel was full, even though we have had a booking confirmation from booking.com. The first night of our trip, we have stayed at Thorn Hotel in Oslo where we have had a bad experience with one of the receptionists at the check-out desks as she was extremely rude and unprofessional. The following morning, we came back to Scandic Helsfyr which was our original booked hotel. We were very angry about the whole situation. We met with one of the managers (Robert ) from Scandic Helsfyr, who dealt the situation in a very professional manner and made us understand about the system over-booking. Thank you Robert for making our stay at Scandic Helsfyr more pleasant and enjoyable. We will definitely come back again. Comfortable rooms (around 20m²) with a very good and rich breakfast offering a variety of food. Easy access to/from the airport by airport bus and well connected to downtown by local buses and metro. The hotel bar is open until 24:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and you can still get a beer at the reception afterward. Very polite staff at the reception desk.

During our three-day stay, the towels were not changed, which was disappointing. Better housekeeping service would improve the experience.

An excellent property to stay, i would recommend all my friends and family to always pick this hotel if they ever travel. The rooms were big, clean and very chic, elaborate breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed, impeccable service by each person working in the hotel from the front desk to the breakfast staff. It is closely located to the metro station which is about 5-7 mins walk. Though the property isn’t close the centre but didn’t mind it because of the ease of transport in the area.

No downside of this property

Bed was very comfortable, shower was great. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner provided. Small fridge and kettle, essential for me. Breakfast was superb and lovely dining area. Also used the gym once and it was clean and well equipped. Great value overall. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

It is a little far out of the city but not a great problem for me, but might be for some as added on to the day retuning each evening.

The hotel is new and very modern. I like the design of rooms and choices they made about materials and quality. The room isn't small even for the cheapest option. The best for me is breakfast. So many different choices you usually cannot find at the hotel. A lot of Eco choices. The dining room is spacious and relaxing as well. Additionally thank you for a free baby cot made from wood with a great quality lining. Summarizing everything, this hotel pays a lot of attention to details and you feel it. 5* experience.

Very good location, really nice and helpful staff in reception. Breakfast with a very big variety of food. It does not happen often when a hotel has such a good breakfast. Nice and clean room, fast elevator, big parking space.

The person who works in the dinner restaurant was not service minded at all. He never said 'good evening', 'please', 'thank you', 'enjoy your meal'. Nothing at all. Felt he hates to work there. We skipped dessert just to get out from there as soon as possible.

It was stylish, clean, comfortable and all what needed was there. We were watching Eurovision and the tv was great for that too😂👌🏽

Have nothing to say here, did not understand the bad reviews in Google, because I can say that it was great place to stay 👏🏼 It is crowded on breakfast, but It is what it is in a hotels 😂

Room is a good size, looks very nice. Location not bad. The main positive is breakfast. Best breakfast I have ever had in any hotel. I have traveled lots. Breakfast definitely is 10/10.

My husband asked about coffee in the lobby…was told that in the lobby coffee and tea was included/free but it isn’t. In comparison I think the price is too high for the stay. Staff could be more welcoming. One of the lights didn’t work in the room. Someone left gum next to the lamp and it was not cleaned.
