Lovely old hotel in a superb position overlooking the water. Terrace in front of the restaurant/bar is a delight, and the bar "snacks" were large and excellent.

Had to keep the windows open as room was quite hot - unfortunately we were at the back of the hotel immediately overlooking platform 1 of the train station, so the train arrivals and announcements were a little distracting, although the trains did not run too late, so not too bad. Also a blind or net curtain at the window would be good as when the curtains were open people on the platform could see straight into our room. Pity they don't serve more food on the terrace in good weather - you can only order 2 dishes from the bar, otherwise you have to go inside to the restaurant (which was fully booked until too late for us).

The old building, is more like a museum, with antique furniture and very charming. It was like one of those classic hotels in Austria. The personnel was terrific, very helpful and professional, yet keeping with the easygoing nature of the Norwegian people. We were lucky to have a personal tour of the hotel by a very knowledgeable manager, she was entertaining and helped us gain an insight into the local culture and the development of the the local hotel industry.

The location couldn’t be more perfect. The hotel is right by Voss station and the Gondola with wonderful views over the lake and hills. The hotel is very historic so we weren’t expecting large rooms so our room is best described as ‘snug’ but clean and comfortable. The staff at Fleischers couldn’t be more friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Our grandchildren particularly liked the pool. Breakfast in the hotel is excellent. Wide choice of cold and hot dishes - ideal for all ages.

The best way to experience Voss! The hotel is right on the railway station, so you don't have to walk with all you luggage, just need to go downstairs et voila. Staff is very welcoming, explained everything we needed. The interior is superb, resembling late 19th/early 20th hotel look. It's like living in the museum, but you are allowed to touch everything and sit on these sofas and chairs. Will definitely stay there again.

Not an issue for us, but TV won't turn on. As I said, it wasn't issue for us, so we didn't even asked staff about that. However, for some people it could be important, so I noted that.

Great location and right next to the railway platform and the ski gondola - and opposite the lake - the location could not have been better. Ski room and a good sized room, good breakfast options for UK and European tastes - nice bar with plenty of space. Ski locker with boot heaters and a great pool, plus a sauna and hot tub plus a small gym if your pegs need even more exercise. The town itself has plenty of shops and a ski bus leaves opposite the hotel to take you a 30 min trip up to Myrkdalen the next ski resort which is higher and more open giving lots of options for off piste. The bus is free but suggest you prebook your place in busier periods. The train from Bergen is just over an hour and good value.

Its perhaps a little tired in places but you're not paying 5 star prices here and the facilities are very good for the cost. There are also improvements taking place.

Beautiful hotel set in picturesque surroundings. Traditionally furnished with modern touches seamlessly blended in creating a quiet and comfortable place to relax. A warm friendly welcome on arrival and pleasant staff who made sure we were made to feel special. Breakfast in the historic dining room and then sitting out on the veranda overlooking the lake rounded off our stay. You can see why this hotel is popular as it run on traditional values, good old fashioned hospitality where the guest is made to feel like a VIP from arrival to departure. The whole atmosphere and experience were special. The room was large with an amazing view. The beds were really comfortable, and that says a lot considering I have back problems and I always struggle in hotels. The hotel was beautifully decorated throughout. For this reason, we went for a drink before bed, and the bar provided the atmosphere and view for a relaxing night with a beautiful lake view, nice decorations, live music, and obliging bar tenders. The indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were sublime, with beautiful clean water and surroundings. The whole experience was topped up with the most exquisite breakfast. Prior to booking this, I checked the reviews, and one person said that there were not many choices. This couldn't be further from the truth, as I can not think of another type of food that could've been served. The selection of food and drinks was enormous and the quality amazing. Markus at the reception made sure our stay was very pleasant, working in the evening and again early in the morning. He was indeed polite, charming, and really helpful. Thank you. There was also free parking, electric car charge, large smart TV, beautiful bathroom, coffee and tea room facilities, extra pillows and duvets, large wardrobe, and the price we paid was less than for other hotels in the previous days that had less facilities. Overall, I can't but give 10 points to this amazing place that has so much character. P.S. the hotel is located right being the train station, which is an excellent location if you travel by train, but equally we did not find that the trains disturbed our sleep. We definitely recommend this place, and we would definitely stay again if given the opportunity to visit Norway again in the future.

Location was excellent, right on the train station. Facilities were satisfactory. The staff member at the bar/ restaurant was friendly and efficient. The decor was rich and opulent.

The size of the hotel created long distances and stairs to move our luggage which was awkward. They gave us single beds, when we requested double. The bedding was very hot, and the top window we couldn't reach was left open with a cold draught on our heads during the night.
