Location was perfect, across the road from the Old Town and 25mins walk to the Marina, because it was boiling hot I wasn't to sure about walking in the middle of the day, next to the Hotel was a little train for (€7 hop off and On all day), we jumped on this for our Boat trip to see the Benogil cave, after we finished we hopped back on the little train and back to the hotel. Room was clean everyday, Air-con was a blessing you needed it, and the sea view wow, excellent breakfast. Dinner in the Hotel was fantastic and fresh every day, a great range of Portuguese food and the staff at the restaurant were really welcoming and friendly, especially Sarah, Shahadat and Eduardo. Luis at the bar was also friendly and made the best cocktails. We arrived late on our first night 1am and there was some dinner left for us in our room, which was a nice touch.

Nothing bad at all, Just carry a little bit of cash, not all shops or seller's down by the beach, Do cash only.

Location is excellent and the views are second to none. Breakfast selection is good.

Wifi had to always reconnect. They don't refill coffee pods or bottle water, you only receive these items on your first night stay. So staying there for 2 weeks we had to buy are own coffee pods and bottle water, makes it inconvenient and felt like the hotel is cheap trying to save a couple of dollars. No beach chairs they are privately run and cost 5 euros per lounger.

Everything about this hotel is 10/10! Our room was a great size, the bed was super comfy and the shower was wonderful. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. The breakfast was great - plenty of choice and we'll presented. We had the evening buffet twice and that, again, was great. A nice salad bar, about 4 mains & sides and some delicious desserts. And then there's the location of the topsy-turvy Hotel! The reception, restaurant and bar are street level Level 5) and the beach is Level 0. The bedrooms are on between and all beach facing. The Old Town is a two minute walk with a lovely selection of restaurants. There is a 'new' bit as well by the town square with plenty of livelier bars and restaurants.

It was right on the beach. The room was nice and they cleaned it daily. I found the bed a bit hard for me but they have toppers in the wardrobe so that was a bonus. The food, although not lots of different dishes, was good, it's not a big hotel so they aren't going to do lots of dishes to waste, there was sufficient choice. The swimming pool is tucked away and we had the pool to ourselves every day for a swim. It's a public beach so there is a payment for sunbeds. It was 20 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella for the day. You can hire towels but we took our own. You dont have to use the sunbeds the beach is in blocks so you can use the areas without sun beds. If you have sensitive feet i would recommend aqua shoes as the beach does have a lot of shells. Everything is within walking distance so that was good.

There is a communal area on the ground level and youngsters congregate there in the early hours and they can be a bit boisterous. However if you stay in the town it's buzzing and very noisy and doesn't stop until 4 or 5 am

Position of hotel is unbeatable. Food was always good. Hotel in excellent condition. Great drinks at the rainbow bar.

Some of the guests were very loud. Only two coffee pods all week. More variety in evening entertainment as the pianist was good but played 6 out of 7 nights.

I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The highlight was the stunning sea view from the room – waking up to that view every morning was incredible. Having direct beach access via an elevator was a huge plus and made it really easy to go for a swim or relax by the water without any hassle. The location is also perfect – right in the heart of Albufeira's old town, so everything from restaurants to shops was just a short walk away. Super convenient and made the whole trip more enjoyable.

Not a lot to say but while the breakfast is good and complete in variety, coffee could have been better.

Room was specious, location 10/10, breakfast was also 10/10. I have nothing to complain about and would definitely stay here again

Sunbeds at the beach you see in the pictures belong to another business, so you have to pay for it. It is not expensive, 2 sunbeds together with umbrella cost 20 eur per day, but still I was not aware of that. It was probably written somewhere in the description, but I did not read it, so it's on me:))) Also, if you want hotel to provide you beach towels, you have to leave a deposit. You also have to leave a deposit just because you stay at the hotel.

Fantastic location overlooking beach. Balcony exceptional-clever design. All buffet meals were outstanding in presentation, variety and taste. Room was always clean-stayed 26 days. Decor simple but perfect for a holiday. Bathroom "rain" shower a real plus. Keyboard player provided great music for dancing. We danced almost every night on an excellent special floor. The Sunday floor show was outstanding but poorly advertised so few patrons attended.

ONLY adverse comment on food is that meat other than chicken tended to be tough. In particular meat on spare ribs should fall away from bone!

• Hotel room itself was fab, we were a group of 3 girls so we were put in the new rooms at the top of the hotel- every room in the hotel is overlooking the sea and the hotel itself is right on top of the beach 🥰 • breakfast was lovely, lots of choice even for gluten free! My friend had a nut allergy and the staff were very helpful, they took out the a new cereal box just for her in case someone used the same serving spoon as the nutty granola. • The staff were all so friendly and smiley, really nice atmosphere & fab location. The beach is just a lift ride down and is right in the centre of Old Town restaurants & shops, will definitely recommend, my parents have already booked their trip 🤭

my partner and i just spent 10 days in this beautifully located hotel. on leaving the hotel, i left a valuable item behind me in the room. The hotel contacted me immediately and with their wonderful help, the item was safely returned to me. I was very impressed that the hotel should go to such lengths to help me out. Due to my own carelessness, this event could have caused great hardship, however the management of SOL E MAR preformed above and beyond the call of duty. well done HOTEL SOL E MAR!!
