I was able to check in late with security at 11pm so I was grateful for that. The place is kept clean everyday and the cleaner is very respectful and quiet. It's in a perfect central location. And with the (small) kitchen and (huge) terrace it's possible to be friendly and social easily with people you meet.

The beds aren't the comfiest, the AC in the room could've been stronger to work well. Night it was OK but during the day, despite the room having the blinds closed it would get very warm. One of the shower handles was a bit broken and it wasn't the nicest shower. Two in an 8 bed room was tough. Especially when you can kind of see the other person showering through the frosted glass.

Nice decoration, everything is clean and the whole hostel smells very nice (unusual benefit:) - the location could not be better, just a minute or two long walk to beach - rooms were spacious and my room shared bathroom only with one private room - amazing balcony - food store is right on the same street - staff was nice

the kitchen is kind of small and gets super crowded even if two people are cooking at once. Also there is just one fridge, so if the hostel is full, it could be a struggle to fit something in - there are no "proper" chairs, so if you plan on working during your stay, your back will have a hard time - when i asked about direction to hostel i was told to "consult google maps". The public transportation does not work 100 % according google maps and it can get really confusing. A little advice would be much appreciated. It is very common practice to include direction from airport to the hostel, i absolutely do not understand this unfriendly approach.

The place is wonderful and spacious. It may be plenty of people but you don't feel it crowded. about the staff: Jesica Is a great host, very friendly and worried about your stay in the place. And the owner, who is a Portuguese lady, a very polite woman who has rules and politics to guarantee a pleasant stay in the city. This is the best hostel in Albufeira.

On Friday night May 3rd, I returned at 00:30 and there was a man at the entrance with the door open. So I wasn't sure if the people inside the terrace were actually guests of the hostel or people entering without any supervision. This is very delicate, since a policy of hostels in general is: THE HOSTEL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OBJECTS LOST DURING THE PERMANENCE IN THE ESTABLISHMENT. so, situations like this make the guests vulnerable to anyone who deliberately enters if there's no control of this door code.

The location of this hostel is very good, only five minutes walk to the beach, and the commercial street is right in front of the door, which is very convenient for eating and shopping. Especially the front door of the restaurant O Catraio, I ate here for two consecutive days, good value for money, the waiter is also very warm and friendly! The female clerk was also very friendly and when I was debating dinner she recommended a great burger! In addition, this hostel is super clean and has a balcony, living room and kitchen, which is great!

Found another home in this big ol’ world <3 Loved every detail, even the tiles in the bathroom! Spacious terrace; perfect location - right in the center, but you don’t hear much at night, and the beach is right down the road, through the cave 😍; good kitchen; good Wi-Fi; they even had loadsa leftover sunscreen from previous guests so I didn’t have to buy a whole bottle just for my Portuguese beaches trip… Easy to meet people or have some me time if you like/need. Like I said, felt right at home from the very beginning, and was sad to leave this place! Muito obrigada <3

The property is perfectly situated. Not only is it a 5< walk to the beach, but it is also parallel to the main strip. The staff were always friendly and understanding of any issues like needing a new towel or key for your locker. Overall, a great, good value for money and wholesome establishment. I would come again.

However, concerning the lockers is my only issue. The lockers underneath the bunk beds assigned for everyone are incredibly loud when opened which led to some rude awakenings. However, I could just be a light sleeper, but my friend also made the same comment.

Perfect location in the heart of the Old Town. Facilities are clean, modern and nicely decorated. Terrace is spacious and comfortable

The guy in reception at night on the 24th September was very unfriendly/ unapproachable. Not even saying good night after I said it to him. No acknowledging the clients when coming in. No people skills. Rest of staff very helpful and friendly specially Jessica.

Great location really clean and great layout One member of staff could do with being a little more friendly felt she was a little abrupt. Where as the other lady was so friendly and funny. Other than that definitely putting this hostel on our travel blog as it’s amazing

Clean, respectful bedrooms and the outside location was relaxing and you had a lot of travel and things to do in the reception area compared to other hostels in Portugal I’ve stayed in. Affordable not ripping off traveler’s which some hostels seem to be doing which I think is great of whomever owns the hostel

Everything about this property is absolutely superb; the staff who work here are the most accommodating I’ve ever encountered. The facilities are superb and the location is amazing. Really nice showers and a wonderful kitchen make for the perfect backpacker experience!!!

The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to leave because my Time had come to an end……. The perfect Hostel.!!!

The location could not have been better; totally central and right by lots of shops, cafes and restaurants - as well as numerous ATMs. Less than 5min walk down to the gorgeous beach as well. The dorm I stayed in had it’s own shower and toilets for the guests in that room which was nice, as most hostels I’ve stayed in have one large communal shower area. I liked that privacy element. Great equipped kitchen and eating space, but my favourite part was the terrace! A sun spot during the day and then the perfect place to hang in the evening before heading out. I met the most amazing group of people at Son of a Beach and we’re already planning our next group trip! Defo recommend for the vibes.
