I enjoyed my stay at Velamar Boutique Hotel, it is well located within walking distance to some great beaches and restaurants nearby but also not deep in the heavy tourist areas where noise could have been an issue during busy season. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfasts were great and with a large variety to choose from. Also great to have on site private parking for guests. The water saving program where you could choose to give up a room cleaning day in exchange for a €5 voucher to use at the hotel bar for food or drinks was also a great idea.

Only issue I had in my room was some water damage coming through on one of the walls of the bedroom coming from the shower.

The room was spacious, with a mini bar/fridge, water, kettle, .coffee etc. The bed was comfy & the biggest I have ever seen. The bathroom was modern, clean with a powerful shower, shampoo & shower gel. They had a scheme whereby you were given a €5 voucher for each day you chose not to have the room cleaned. The bar prices were very reasonable. The breakfast was brilliant & the top floor location gave lovely views The pool area was peaceful, clean & plenty of sunbeds. Thankfully, there wasn't any reserving of sunbeds, which is always annoying & unnecessary.

From the time we arrived until leaving all the staff are so helpful and looked after us so well. Lovely room had everything you need on a holiday. Breakfast was lovely particularly when you can sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the view and sun, and staff always on hand to help out if needed with coffee machines. Will definitely go back.

We asked for the contents of the minibar to be taken off as we didn’t want to share our credit card details, but when arrived to the room they were still in there. Later on someone from the service entered in our room without knocking in order to remove them. I found very disturbing as we were inside the room Also our cards stopped working after one night - I understand mistakes happen but service could be improved by paying attention to these details

Very nice staff during breakfast and dinner. Great view from the breakfast Terrance. They removed the towels from people who blocked sun beds in the morning at least once - afterwards everyone could usually always find a free sun bed - i appreciate it a lot and I know most hotels never go through the trouble.

The staff at the reception was not very polite. The beach towel policy (they are exchanged only every 3. Day, if You need it mor frequently you pay 3 euros per towel) was not explained in the beginning. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the beach. The pool was pretty dirty (also because the shower next to the pool was not working) and very shallow.

I have so much to say about this place. It made me and my boyfriend feel so welcomed and comfortable. We couldn’t stop ordering room service cause the food and the sangria was exceptional. Don’t get me even started with the breakfast. Amazing food amazing staff. The very kind gentleman in the bar ( I think his name was Antonio if I’m not mistaken) was extremely friendly and nice. The check in staff was also very helpful. They kindly accepted our early check in request and everything went very smoothly. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to go back. Also the location was great, far from the albufeira chaos and close enough to all the beaches and old town by just one quick uber drive. By the way somedays they have live music by the pool. I’d suggest don’t miss it. It truly felt like a resort experience.

I decided on this hotel, mainly based on previous reviews and they certainly didn’t disappoint! I did a lot of research on previous reviews for several hotels and whilst there are hotels with better facilities, this hotels ratings on 3 particular aspects impressed me, these were: • It’s quieter location, just outside of the main Albufeira area, which can be quite busy and loud at night, but we preferred a quieter location, so this fitted the bill for us • The 2nd reason was the ratings that the staff received, they were nothing short of exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and reception is manned 24/7, so there is always someone available, even when we checked out at 5am. The staff are an absolute credit to this place • The 3rd reason were the breakfast reviews, again an outstanding breakfast offering with a buffet style breakfast, including ‘full English’ options, a huge continental breakfast selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed OJ, huge selection of breads, GF options, cereals, yoghurts, fresh honey (actually dripping from a honeycomb into a pot), huge selection of fresh pastries (custard tarts, mini croissants, pancakes, pain au choc, pecan slice. *Some options above are rotated daily, to mix up the selection, ie: the cooked breakfast will rotate between mushrooms, tomatoes or quiche, but constant selection is scrambled egg, sausages, bacon, baked beans and boiled eggs. Same with the pastry and cheeses selections Finally, the breakfast clearing staff are simply outstanding, the clearing of tables is literally constant, I’ve rarely witnessed such attentive staff at breakfast and no sooner are you finished with a plate, cup or glass and it is gone, empty tables cleared very quickly. It also has an outstanding outside breakfast terrace, which although it can be a bit windy, in the summer heat, this is most welcome, we sat outside every single day

Nothing and I mean that!

Everything was perfect. The breakfast was not bad. Coffee was marvellous! Most of the staff were helpful.

One reception guy was rude. And I just don‘ t like the idea of taking my credit card for scanning the data. The hotel was pre-paid in full. The guy just demanded my card for scanning - under the stupid pretext - to secure the proper payment for the items in the mini-bar. The fridge actually contained two cans of cola. One tiny bottle of beer and some candy bar. That‘s it. Imagine -I paid 160 euro for the hotel to steal this very cola:).

Extremely large and comfortable bed, we had no complaints in relation to the comfort and size of the room. Spacious balcony was handy to have to be able to dry swimwear and pool towels everyday. The pool was very relaxing and the poolside bar had everything you could need, with an extensive drinks list and lots of great, affordable lunch options. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included and could not fault it, absolutely delicious every day, with plenty of options. Location was great, as taxis are very cheap if you wanted to travel into Albufeira or Vilamoura. About a 15 minute walk down to the beach, there are plenty of restaurant options. We are in the local area 4 times out of 7 nights and always had a great meal. It was nice to be away from the noise of Albufeira and so I would recommend staying in this area if you enjoy a more relaxing holiday.

Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff, 10 min drive from Albufeira so it's a central location to move around Algarve and reach both the eastern and western towns/beaches. 5 minute drive from amazing beaches such as Falesia and Olhos de Agua. Very good breakfast buffet. Absolutely recommended.

The pool area is a bit smaller than how it appears to be in pictures, however with such amazing beaches close by this becomes completely secondary. Recommendation: Albufeira itself has a very touristy vibe, focus your time on other locations which are perfectly reachable from this hotel.
