The hotel and room were lovely. The room was quiet which was one of the main reasons we chose the property. The room was equipped with external shutters that we could use to block out light and noise (and cold). The bathroom had beautiful tile work all over and had a bidet, which was another great perk. After breakfast each day, the hotel provided free coffee, tea, water and pastries in the downstairs area, another very welcome perk. There was also a room with an honor bar on the third floor that was beautifully decorated (and very cozy) with a wonderful view off the balcony. Of all the hotels we stayed in over the course of our trip, this was my favorite!

The only issues we had with the room was that there was no fan in the bathroom to keep all the steam and moisture from getting everywhere. Also, the room we were in only had air conditioning but no heater. It was very cold as we were there in December. We asked for a space heater and used that in the mornings, but we couldn’t leave it on at night because it was too loud and the room got too hot. It would have been nice if the front desk told us there was no heating in the room and offered us another room with heating as the hotel was not full. We had unpacked all of our stuff by the time we found out about the lack of heating and didn’t want to ask for another room. Not a huge issue - I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The staff were super helpful and it felt very comfortable just to hang around. Lots of places to chill out and the upstairs terrace is quite unique. Complimentary tea, coffee and cake all day long. The honesty bar is a great touch as was the Porto in our room. Wish we had been there when the sun was shining as we could have definitely been in that lovely garden more. Very generously sized room and separate bathroom, felt like a little home. Would recommend!

My only hesitation is to consider if this is the side of town you'd like to stay in as it's a little more fancy and quieter, with a bit of a walk into the city centre. Frequent buses conveniently stop outside the hotel though.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Janelas Verdes Inn from the moment we arrived. The reception staff are welcoming and helpful even before you arrive, with prompt answers to any questions. The hotel is beautiful; it is like being in a friend's beautiful home. Amazing furniture and paintings, different rooms where one may relax, lovely terrace overlooking the riverside and beautiful courtyard, all of which we enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious and varied and drinks and snacks are available all day in the dining area and upstairs in the Library. Our bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. We will return!!

Everything was perfect. If you wish to have coffee making facilities in your room, just ask!

Just outside of the tourist crowds this hotel was quiet and offered a wonderful oasis from the touring grind. Everything was great with our room. Space, cleanliness, complimentary port and good bathroom. The hotel library had a large balcony overlooking the harbour river and warm leather chairs to recline in while sipping a wine and reading. The breakfast that came with the room had everything. 5 fresh juices, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, cereals through to scrambled eggs and bacon. Coffee and tea to wash it all down. The hotel staff were helpful in every way offering tour advice and organising taxis etc. there is a bus stop almost directly outside the front door. Easy access to all the main attractions. I’d stay here again like a shot. 5 stars

Out of centre away from crowds but only 15 mins walk to most central areas. Taxis are quite cheap with fare to central harbour about 6 euro. Hotel has very charming period interior. Self serve bars around hotel providing complimentary tea and coffee and never ending supply of pastel de nata and other pastries. Most types of soft and alcoholic drinks on self serve locations around hotel based on honesty with form to hand in. Pleasant roof terrace overlooking harbour. Very attractive scene after dark but currently several tall cranes spoil view to Christo Rei Christ statue illuminated at night.Hotel is between two very busy roads and under flight path but inside hotel and room you barely notice any noise.

Breakfast was self serve with sufficient choice but attention by staff to maintain adequate supply was a bit slow with poor attention to detail. Gold fish in breakfast fountain needs proper water and food supply. Very sad.If your English and drink tea take your own tea bags.

The room was ideal and the bathroom was very spacious. We did not have breakfast but the spread looked good! The location was a little out of town but it meant it was a bit more quiet. The complimentary Port in the room was a nice touch. The top floor had a 'Library' with a balcony overlooking the river Tagus but cranes and a bit of a run-down industrial area slightly obscure the view.

The complimentary tea/coffee system was not what we were used to and involved having to take the stairs/lift to get them. We were also unsure of what constituted a complimentary coffee and what required payment from the honesty system bar. We could have asked but it was not the end of the world for us. On our second day the room was cleaned while we were out but out towels were not replaced. Luckily we were leaving that afternoon so it was not an issue but could have been if we were staying.

This is a very comfortable and plush small hotel with a pleasant patio garden plus top-floor terrace. It has stunning views of the Tagus (and to an extent of the docks, which some may not want but personally I liked watching the boats). It is well worth paying extra to get that view from your room. The hotel was probably renovated about 30 years ago and is looking slightly faded but in a pleasing way. Rooms come with large and comfortable beds plus fancy marble bathrooms. Staff are very friendly, attentive in an unobtrusive way, and very helpful. The hotel is off centre (so quiet for a city hotel - and rooms are well-soundproofed too) but in a very pleasant neighbourhood. There are nearby bus/tram/train stops plus Lisbon's cheap taxis are always easily to hand, or it's a pleasant 20m stroll downtown. Many good local restaurants. Excellent museum next door. Overall, highly recommended.

My stay was absolutely wonderful! The imperial-style room is incredibly charming and perfect for a romantic getaway. From the elegant decor to the meticulous details, everything contributed to creating an unforgettable atmosphere. I opted for a non-smoking room and was very pleased with the care taken. The bathroom was luxury: a relaxing bathtub, soft bathrobes, and a selection of high-quality toiletries. The staff was exceptionally attentive, and the complimentary breakfast was a delightful touch. The variety of fresh and delicious dishes made the mornings even more special. The breakfast was simple but had everything you could ask for, rivaling offerings from major hotel chains. I highly recommend this hotel for couples seeking a sophisticated and romantic experience. The hotel delivers exactly what it promises and makes guests feel special from start to finish. I can’t wait to return!

We booked 3 nights at the Inn. It was one of a few inns recommended due to location near to a relatives apt. After checking out the JV inn’s reviews, we booked for our time in Lisbon. The inn exceeded expectations and prior reviews. A few highlights: helpful staff, an abundance of cleaning help and breakfast severs, many choices for breakfast, 24 hour tea and coffee service, including Nespresso espresso options, complimentary port wine in each room, a favorite Molton Brown bathroom cleansing items, entire hotel extremely clean and tidy, great location in a neighborhood with embassies (Luxembourg embassy next door) and nearby tasty bakeries, cafes and restaurants. This inn is worth a visit, we will certainly return.

Windows when opened, you can hear street noise. Not a big deal.

We loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Our superior room was huge with a wonderful bathroom right at the top of the grand staircase. The welcome from Mariana was brilliant and made us feel so welcome even when we were several hours late due to flight problems. The library at the top was a wonderful haven and quiet most nights and perfect for relaxing or reading. There was also a well-stocked honesty bar. Breakfast was always delicious and with a wide variety of continental and Portuguese treats and even better that breakfast ran until 12. What a lovely relaxing way to start the day.

It is about a 30 minutes walk from the centre of Lisbon which is lovely if you want a more relaxed and laid back trip but can be hard after a long day of walking round Lisbon’s hills. The road outside was a bit noisy on the front because of the cobbled streets. Not a problem but just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper.
