We came here for our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. The staff were welcoming and really friendly. The concierge were all so helpful, particularly Betty who gave us great ideas of things to do, helped us with booking activities and restaurants, giving excellent recommendations. We had champagne and strawberries in our room upon arrival which was such a lovely touch. We used the bars downstairs and on the rooftop, staff were excellent and drinks great and reasonably priced. The food at the hotel was exceptional, we had dinner in the Bistro4 which was delicious and again felt incredible value. The hotel is beautiful, lovely facilities, its warm and inviting and we had the best time. Will definitely be returning.

Location is superb, just off the busy Liberdade on a quiet, tree-lined street, but just minutes from all the shops, restaurants, and tourist hotspots. The hotel is really nice and clean, and quite modern. Great facilities including gym, indoor pool and a great rooftop jacuzzi. Decent size rooms, quiet, and great beds and pillows, and a very nice bathroom. You'll get a great nights' sleep here. Make sure you get the breakfast included too, it is superb.. although, at €22 each per day, it should be!!!

We were dissappointed with the servicing of our room. We had no towels when we arrived.. another day, sugar from my morning coffee hadn't been cleaned off the top, and milk and sugar not been replenished nor water changed in the coffee machine. I expect better from a 5 star at this price. Service on the rooftop is a bit wanting too.. no staff at all on the roof at times to service the bar, and one day, nobody had put cushions or towels out, and it was a beautiful afternoon!! Final whinge is the cost of drinks at the hotel - stay clear of the spirits which are extortionate, but maybe that's 5 star pricing these days. Don't let any of this put you off this hotel though, it truly is amazing. My negative comments are directed at the hotel so they might be able to improve.

This is an exceptional hotel where even if you’re on a sightseeing tour abroad, you’re still happy to spend time in the hotel because it is such a pleasant experience In a perfect and peaceful location in the best part of Lisbon. Even if the Lisbon weather is not so great, the ambiance inside the hotel makes up for it. We especially liked the spacious room with private balcony, friendly and attentive staff, welcome fruit bowl and daily bottle of water, and the dining options. This was our first time at the PotoBay Liberdade, and after seeing the pool, roof deck, and spa, we will include them in our next itinerary. I also liked PortoBay’s YouTube video series.

It was all great! Next time, I will remember to request an extra towel for my post-shower hair, and I learned that for booking purposes, it’s best to use Chrome or IE, and not Safari.

We recently stayed at Portobay Liberdade for two nights and were genuinely blown away by the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and spotless, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The facilities throughout the hotel are excellent and clearly very well maintained. We also had dinner at Bistro4 and were so impressed. The food was delicious and fantastic value for money. It was our first time in Lisbon, and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a better hotel or location. Portobay Liberdade made our trip extra special, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!

The hotel was lovely, it's a great location, breakfast restaurant & bar area great. The main thing with this hotel is your just off the main road in Avenida Liberdade.

The rooms are very small. We were facing the back of the hotel and lots of construction work going on lots of noise, could not sleep that day or lie in the next day due to the noise, which did not make our stay that pleasant unfortunately, they should have moved us, but they did not which once again was very disappointing, staff did nothing to support us here when we asked them. No staff ever on the rooftop for drinks, sat there for two hours saw one member of staff then no one else for the rest of the time I was there to take my order.

The location was very central and in a great neighborhood. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. The staff was friendly and the facilities incl. Sauna, gym and pool were nice. Great breakfast! There were two big bottles of water for free prepared in the room every day.

I'd categorise it as a 4 star hotel. It wasn't exceptional. The mattress was a bit soft in the middle, the rooftop terrace had no service after 6 pm or just very limited service where you'd have to order your drinks downstairs and they'd bring it up. The fireplaces on the roof top were always turned off and the whirlpool was turned off/ getting cold after 6 Pm. The rooms were a bit dark and could be more modern/bright. More hangers in the closet would be nice.

The most AMAZING hotel! Check in was smooth and easy, we arrived a bit early but our room was already ready. The room itself was beautiful, so clean and spacious and beautifully decorated. It has every little thing you can imagine from dental and shaving kits to amazing coffee. It was my husbands birthday and they wrote him a lovely card, had chocolate cake and champagne for him. The balcony was so big and spacious. We loved that both rooms had TVs. The bathroom was massive with double sinks and a big bath tub. The beds and pillows were so comfy and the pillow menu was fantastic. We didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant due to previously made plans but we had a look and it was beautiful and the menu looked delicious. The spa was everything you would want and more. The steam room and sauna were spacious and the perfect temperature, the pool was very big and the loungers poolside and in a second room were very comfortable. The outside lounge space was beautiful. The gym had lots of equipment and was really nice. The rooftop bar wasn’t open for season yet but the hot tub and loungers were great. We really loved the cucumber and lime water in reception and how large and comfortable reception is. We were allowed to extend our checkout time which was helpful as we had a late flight and they held our bags for us. They also let us use the spa after our check out time. The staff were so kind and helpful! We cannot wait to come back! Thank you for everything!

Nothing - it was perfect!

PortoBay Liberdade is a cute small hotel that is excellently located. The staff is very professional, and they are prepared to help you every time.

The spa is small but sufficient, with a pool and two saunas. The rules for the Finnish sauna are a bit unusual. We were informed by the staff that being naked in the sauna is not allowed, and swimwear is mandatory. However, it didn't seem to bother the staff that some guests were sitting in the sauna without a sheet or towel, allowing their sweat to drip onto the wooden benches and floor. When I tried to discuss this with the receptionist, the response was simply "These are the rules in Portugal."

From the second I arrived at the hotel, until I left, everything was absolutely perfect. The beautiful fragrance of the hotel was the first thing that I noticed. The friendly and helpful staff at the door and reception were extremely welcoming. The room was a good size, with a separate seating area, with a comfortable sofa. There was a dressing table with large mirror. Complementary water, coffee and tea. The bed was really comfortable. There was a turn down service each evening. The room has a balcony running along the whole length. The bathroom offers a bathtub and a separate shower and is spacious and modern. Breakfast is plentiful, offering cereals, bread, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit, cooked breakfast, fresh juices etc. The restaurant is clean and modern and all staff offer a high level of service. The location is ideal. It's situated in a side road off the main avenue, so it's quieter, but still within walking distance to all of the local sights. There's public transport nearby too, if walking isn't your thing. The spa treatments were very relaxing. Again, the staff were amazing. There's an indoor pool in the spa area plus a jacuzzi on the roof terrace.

From initial greeting the standard was set high and this continued in every aspect throughout our stay. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere coupled with great facilities and all members of staff could not do enough to help you. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. The location was brilliant with high end boutiques to small independent market stalls and great restaurants, its all just a short walk away. We are already planning our next trip back, which speaks for its self, keep up the outstanding work
