I had a very friendly welcome from Paulo and also spoke to his father who was equally friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, towels were changed every day and new bars of soap provided, the property is in a quiet street and the building is quite characterful, cost was reasonable and security good, there are cafes and restaurants nearby and a supermarket. These were pointed out to me by Paulo.

For some it may be a bit to far to walk from major transport links like the metro.

Paulo was very helpful. He booked 2 taxis for us and assisted us in other matters.

Bed could have been more comfortable.

I stayed here three times over my 10 days in Portugal as I was travelling up and down the country. The place was clean, staff friendly. Especially the older gentleman, who spoke very little English (Much better than my awful Portuguese) who was very friendly and helpful. The other man (late 30s?!) was excellent as well. Both gave lots of helpful information about supermarkets, restaurants etc.

I had emailed and received a reply about dropping my bag off before check in. I received a reply saying this was fine. But when I arrived in the morning. Initially nobody answered. Eventually they did but wouldn't let me speak and wouldn't open the door. When I did check in the younger man explained that check in was 3pm and nobody would've been here. That is my only grip.

The owners are very kind and answer your questions and explain everything accoarding to your stay and the city. The place is not in city center, but very close and you can choose between walking (20min) or taking the bus(10min).

I really enjoyed my stay here. The owners have made me feel welcome and were very friendly. They always greeted me with very kind words. My room was big and comfortable and the mini fridge was really useful. I appreciate the fact that the room was cleaned every day as well. I actually did enjoy staying in an older building, it had a lot of charm. The neighbourhood as well is very quiet and safe and there are shops and bus stations within a few minutes of walking. When I return to Porto, I would definitely like to stay here again.

The manager was very helpful. It was very clean, with clean towels supplied each day. It's close to a Lidl, 7 mins walk, and the bus stop, 2mins. Walk I to the old city is about 30mins. Many cafes around. Room was spacious and comfortable with wide windows for light and fresh air. The neighbourhood is old but quiet and safe.

This place is very close to the near by bus station " VALE FORMOSO " . Around 3KM away from city center or other tourists destinations. I was never before in Portugal so willing to stay an old style Portuguese home to know more about their culture and people. They convert a old but beautiful building into a family own hotel and it's look good. Mr. José 81-year-old landlord, operate the building. He is a good person and while checkin he show us how to open the door or lock it etc.. Here is my advice, considering his age try to listen what he want to say. He can't speak English well so we use translator app for communication. It will be good if they put some English speakers their. But he can speak Italian, Spanish language. I've visited numerous places around the world, but I only list the names of a few of my hotel owners on my blog. Yes, Mr. José, I shall keep your name in mind. Your helpful attitude is great

It's one of the best experience with accommodation on city trips in Europe. It's a family accommodation, with wonderful hosts in retro building. Great value for money.

Sockets should be fixed, but it wasn't a big issue

I found both the room and hotel very clean. The owner is super friendly and some nice bars and restaurants are nearby. The position is a bit far from the center, but you are there in 20/25 minutes of walking. Also, there are a bus stop nearby and a small park and supermarket.

The bathroom is pretty small. There is just the space to move around. There was no desk or chair to place a Pc or something else. However, there was a relatively big wardrobe.
