The staff were really friendly and always helpful. I loved that they had food and snacks to munch on, too, when I was too lazy to go elsewhere! They had drinks and served breakfast, too. Fabio was really sweet, and it was awesome to see a friendly face every time. The bathroom was clean and tidy. I liked that we had a little balcony too and a window to freshen the room and another in the bathroom. The hostel was really close to a very cute and super inexpensive café. Also very close to the metro and bus stations. It was a perfect walking distance to the river area, and checking out the city along the way was a win! It was a super pretty and artsy hostel! Very cosy and chilled vibes, too👌.

There was this one dude that used my towel and shower plaks in our dormitory, lol. I did, however, tell him not to use my stuff as he can go rent towels(also, it's gross to use someone else's shower slip ons). Idk where those feet have been, but I know I'm all over my hygiene, lol. I didn't feel like i needed to hide or lock them into my locker as they need fresh air to dry properly after a shower? I locked my slip ons in my locker next time i left anyway. The staff did give me a fresh towel without extra charge again. I appreciated that! Maybe people just need a little reminder when they check in that if they don't see any towels or shower essentials on their beds, they need to rent!😬 (That's what I assumed immediately😅)

The young man at the front desk, Diogo, was the highlight of this hostel for me. He was very kind, very thoughtful. Brought me a fan and was willing to help with anything I needed. The other staff were nice enough, but they were all very busy as this is a bustling café open to the public, and they had a lot of work to do just keeping the food going out to customers. I was surprised that my room was on the fifth floor (I think?) with a LOT of steps. I'm a 66 year old, solo, female traveler with 'iffy' knees. I was also surprised that my room (private room) was kind of attic-like in that the walls sloped down, felt a little tight, and there was no air con. None of these things were huge issues, the bed was awesome, the room and all the facilities were spotless, I was very comfortable, just a few small surprises when I first arrived. The garden was lovely, the restaurant was comfy, food was great. Fabulous location!

I liked everything, other than a few surprises (ie: no aircon in my room) this hostel was fabulous!

The café was a lovely area to chill after a long day of travelling. Prices were reasonable. The staff were all incredibly kind, specifically Rui texting me asking if I needed any help around the city and Patricia being excellent and lovely as a host! The balcony was nice, the lockers were secure, and the bathrooms in the room were all really nice. The beds were ok too. Location is great especially coming from the airport, and also to the main area, as the metro station Trindade was practically next door.

Snoring people in the shared room, make sure to bring earplugs. Also the towel I rented went missing. I left it outside on the balcony to dry, but when I came back it was missing. Thankfully I was only staying 2 nights so not the end of the world but massively inconvenient if staying for more nights. Also I prefer having lockers that you can put your own padlocks on, but that might be a personal thing and I didn’t have a problem with the lockers provided!

Location is awesome, two blocks from main street and walking distance to mostly all the attractions in town. Staff is amazing, too. If you have the luck to encounter Diogo (receptionist), he's simply the best! Gave us super recommendations and help us with everything we need, and even when we didn't ask for. Thanks, Diogo and Supernova team!

If you're short, you'll be OK, but if you're tall, I don't recommend the room where we stayed. It's a bit small, but we felt cozy. Maybe a renewal on pillows will be nice.

- every single staff member just so kind and welcoming without being at all intrusive - gorgeous airy dorms - there was a street-facing balcony and private bathroom in mine - big shady garden cafe with a lovely menu including great vegan and vegetarian options and AMAZING in-house lemonade - best music choices I've heard in a long time - The Cure, Beatles, Patti Smith etc - playing softly all day - *really* good free wifi - Metro stop and launderette at the doorstep I'm autistic and never felt the need to say that because the atmosphere was always so inclusive and gentle. My short stay felt like a retreat 😊

Pod dorm room is perfect. Excellent facilities. Cleaned every day, THANK YOU Tanya and Angelica, the very nice and friendly cleaners. Sorry can't remember my other Argentinian cleaner's name. Great central location, close to Metro and town centre. etc. Supernova is just amazing, a little gem in the heart of Porto. Such cool staff and people staying there. Big thanks to Manuel, Sam, Issam and Mario for welcoming me once again to their great hostel. Thanks to other staff who's names I don't know :-) Always willing to help, staff always kind, professional, friendly. Supernova family !!

The hostel is very cool and beautiful. The staff is very helpful and kind. The rooms are very clean. I stayed in a 6-bed-dorm with own bathroom and balcony for a cheap price. I really enjoyed my stay at Supernova. The bar downstairs offers delicious food and drinks. There you can also find a bookshelf with guide books for Porto and a nice terrace.

There is no kitchen, what might be a problem for people, who prefer to cook instead of spending money for eating out.

Very nice and clean hostel. This is one of the few places where you have curtains around the beds which makes for a lot of privacy in the dorms. Our dorm hat its own private bathroom which was also very clean, the beds were comfortable as well.

There isn't too much common space as most of the space is occupied by the cafe. There also is no kitchen.

It was my first time traveling out of my country & first timer staying at this hostel. I enjoyed the staff! They were warm, friendly, professional & if I needed help they made a way to support me. I was so grateful of the staff, as they made me feel comfortable & at home! The location was perfect as you can walk in any direction into town. Also, the pastries & espresso were delicious! Great location, very clean, comfortable beds, clean linens, great shower with plenty of hot water, helpful and friendly staff. Was nice to have a cafe on site. Felt very safe. I was a 62 year old solo traveler and rented a double bunk. Was great!

Would have been nice to have had some hooks inside the bunk area.
